  2. GX Works 3 - PID control

    Hi, I am using PID function (PID operation instruction) from GX Works 3 library but it doesn't work. I set all necessary parameters (sampling time, direction and upper/lower limit values + KP, TI). My input PID_Par is array of 25 points (in manual is written: "*1When auto tuning is not used, the same number of points are occupied as when the step response method is used."). For example, in GX Works 2, PID function works ok. Did someone have similar problem? Does someone have mitsubishi library (GW Works 3) with PID function that works correctly?   Regards Luka

Hello,I am sizing a feeder circuit for a panel according to UL 508A and came into a question:My input current is of 76.5 A (considering all the loads), thus, it is fine for me to use a cable of 4 AWG (max. 85A @ 75 c).For the circuit breaker I did 76.5 A x 1.25 = 96 A and then I selected a breaker of 100A.My question is: Is it ok for me to keep this configuration according to UL 508A? 100A breaker + 4 AWG load side cableOr do I need to level up the cables?Thank you very much in advance!

    Hello guys, I am facing a problem that our Servo is generating output for only reverse direction, when we give forward command from HMI the output Y0 is active but when we give reverse command same outut Y0 is high, other output which is Y4 is not high, what could be te possible reasion.

  6. Hi all. I have a Kinetix 350 and an AB TLY servo motor. I'm using the drive's STO function. AC power is supplied into the drive, passing through an "M1" contactor. It makes sense to m e to keep that contactor open, preventing AC power to the drive, until the drive is fully awake.  Is that what you guys do? Someone suggested to me in another forum ( http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=121021&highlight=drive+awake ) that there is no reason not to supply power to the drive right away because the STO function is inhibiting power to the motor anyway.

  8. Hi All, I have an AB servo TLY-A110T and 2097-V31PR0-LM Kinetix 350 drive. I thought that it was fully configured and ready for tuning, but when I issue a MSO it immediately starts to spin the shaft (no load yet). This lasts about a second until a Physical Axis Fault, Excessive Velocity Error occurs. I've double and triple checked the feedback and power wiring, and everything looks right. Is there anything else I can check? What can I do to trouble shoot this if I can't even give an MSO? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

  10. Bonjour, Hello, I use a l33erm automaton and a Kinetix servo motor . This servo motor drives an engine with a chain moving in steps of 100 millimetres (there are 15 steps on the chain ) At each top of a cell this motor advances by 100 millimetre. in reality it advances from about 0 to about 100. Sometimes it is 100,002 times to 99,997 (this is important further) and when I give it a top it goes back to about 100 (100,003 times to 99,996) And so on and so forth up to no problem, I use a MAM with an absolute type of movement. It works.     However, this does not work any more after a rearmament following an emergency shutdown. if it is a 100,002 no problem at the next top the chain advances one step But when the engine is shut down at 99,997 and I give it the order to go to 100 it advances only by 0,003.  This only happens after an emergency stop (or door opening).   13. Hello - Not sure if this is the right place, I apologize if not. Just let me know if I need to move it and can delete and do so. But I am currently working on a project where I am collecting seeds (flower seeds, etc.) and when a certain weight limit is met I'll be turning off a vibratory bowl and opening a chute, etc. Looking for some ideas on the scale and how to do that process in particular. The smallest collection weight will be around 100mg, largest around 8g.  Mainly looking for ideas on the scale.  Thanks for any help/tips, much appreciate.
  14. In One of my machine we using one stepper drive thatCTA2H328M-MB model made by Centrust Motors China running without pulse input.Direction and  Enable input only connected. My problem is motor running in low speed since drive is 2.89 Amps and motor is 4.2 Amps so its not supporting.I want change drive capacity but i couldn't found a drive with same concept.I couldn't able to reach the chinese vendor.I have tried many drives which is in my stock all are enable input used for enable/Disable the drive.I am bit confuced. http://www.centrust-motor.com/?c=msg&id=2337 Kindly help what type of drive is this? Have a micrologix 1200R 1762-L40BWAR.  If anyone could help with providing the following information: Need a communication port with single receptacle that will mount through the door of electrical enclosure and then the communication cable (6 to 10') that will go from the com. port to the micrologix.   17. hallo everyone ...i use mitsubishi Q00UJCPU and QD77MS2.. i try to make a speed control program and the speed wants to be changed during servo operating, i use dedicated instructions ZP. PSTRT1 (axis 1) and have tryed but it was only successful to change speed with "change speed control" function once ... is it like it? cannot change "change speed control" many times when servo operations?

Does anyone have an example piece of ladder logic, created on a Micrologix 1200, using ASCII to READ and Write to a serial device?  I am building a ladder on a Micrologix 1200 that will send data to an old CNC once a certain ASCII instruction is received on the PLC.  For example, when the machine spits out an ASCII "1", the PLC will see the "1" and send out a three digit number depending on a sequence of discrete inputs.   Thank you,

  20. Hello, I'm new to PLC Programming, with just a simple course about the basics. I've got a micrologix 1400 PLC which seems to have had its program wiped when the battery was replaced. I've had the company that supplied the machine it runs send me the program for the PLC. However, I don't have any software to communicate with it, and download the program to the PLC. I was hoping some one here could help me out and direct me towards what I will need to do to get the new program installed on the PLC. Thank you 
  21. Hello - I've recently started my adventure into PLC programming and I've found this site to be very helpful. I took on a project that requires control of a cylinder - the short and skinny is that the cylinder will have to provide position feedback and stroke to various set lengths determined by position of a selector switch. So - If position 1 is selected, the cylinder will stroke 20"inches. If Position 2 is selected, cylinder will stroke to 25"inches - so on and so on.   My questions is how to best go about this process. I may be having a brain-block and not viewing this clearly, but something is not clicking for me and wanted some advice. Planned on using Allen-Bradley's Micro850 PLC (had one on the shelf, and CCW software is free so why not). Thanks
  22. Hello I have a scenario that's been bugging me for some time now. The scenario consists of a Micrologix 1400 that I need to control it's output from modbus/tcp. In detail what I really need is to be able to manipulate the O0:0 through modbus/tcp. The PLC would be the master and I would be the slave that triggers the connection to the master. I'm using a Modbus-Client on my PC and that should be the slave. Any idea as to how I can manage that? Currently I can send data to the master but everything is "stored" on B10 and I have no idea how I could write directly on O0. Thanks a bunch guys. PS: I'm borderline noob.

  24.  Hi all. I have a question about how to set up the motor in rotary mode. My application will be a basic rotary table driven by a servo motor without gearbox between. So, in my servo drive axis settings, I select the motor as a rotary mode. then I defined the maximum position setting value for 360 degrees, and minimum to 0. So far so good. But the problem comes when I want to make an absolute move using the mc_moveAbsolute to move 360 degrees. Whit this settings the error "target position settings out of range " will come up. So, what is the solution to rotate 360 degrees without generating this error? if I set up the maximum value to 361 degrees and then if I rotate 360 the error will not occur and the motor will rotate 360 degrees as I aspected, but it's this correct ? or there is another way to do it? Thanks  
  25. Hi my problem may have a simple solution but i cant work it out. I need to use the Divide function but it wont let me use a decimal point in either Source A or Source B. Is there a way to use a decimal point in Logix 500 Math instructions? Im using an AB Micrologix 1400 PLC. Can you only use math instructions with whole numbers? is there a way around this?
