  1. Hello, I am new to the forum. Being doing a lot of googling to see if theirs any cross-compatibility between an M241 PLC and a Simatic panel PC and stumbled across this forum which hopefully could help me out. I'm starting an automation project to automate my home brewery. The M241 from Schneider electric seems to tick the boxes for what I require.  At my work theirs a redundant Simatic Panel PC 670 just waiting to be recycled. My question is, can I use the panel pc purely as an HMI for the M241?

    Hello everyone, can u help me out please, quite urgent !!! :( i have GS2107-WTBD HMI display along with FX5U-80MT-ESS, i had one of HMI designs made on GT designer 3 by earlier designer (not in my contact now). i uploaded the graphics to HMI module and later it stuck to the initial LOGO screen and doesnt move further, moreover the HMI is not communicating with PC. i suspect it had remote password with it how can i remove this issue or hardware rest the HMI with factory defaults guidance required

Dear All, In one of my projects I need to login in HMI via Windows Linked Users i.e. Domain Users..I have never done this before & don't I have any sort of idea regarding this..This is possible in Rockwell HMI's but not sure about Beijer IX HMI's..   5. Hi guys! I have a problem with Proface OP panel. There are some pages where the password is set. I think the password is in the OP panel not in the PLC. My question is that anybody know that how can I change the password? Where and how can I find it? Thanks for your help.

    Hi all! I have KINCO HMI MTT4414T installed at water filtration by some Chinese vendor, but they did not provide us the password to upload HMI project. Please, let me know what can be done to upload the project and make necessary changes to HMI program.
  8. Good morning everybody,   I am working on a project using Schneider M580 PLC. The PLC is connected on an Ethernet Switch and all connection from Unity to the PLC is made through the Ethernet network. My customer is asking me to demonstrate that the PLC connexion password traveling on the network is encrypted. Would any one of you be able to guide me to a document where this is explicitely said. I have being searching Unity help file, the M580 reference Manual, The M580 Planning guide, Modicon cybersecurity reference manual, etc and all I could find is a mention that password is encrypted in the programm file. Close but not what I need to prove to the customer.   Kind regards,

    I cant able to make any changes on the points (datatype from INT to DINT) on cimplicity workbench  everything thing is greyout!! i checked and found that the workbench has a change management logOn option asking to logon! Which asks for user name and password!! And No one here Now has the user name or its password!! what to do now on such cases , Also on doing modifications on logic developer validating project generates error  may be due to mismatch data type of that associated point on workbench.
  12. i'm working with vijeo designer and i have a problem with popup windows. I'm trying to make a popup window appear with a variable. A bool to be exact. I want that a popup window appears when the bool becomes 1. But so far i haven't found a way to do that. Can someone help how I could do that? It's the meaning that that bool becomes 1 when there is an error and that the popup window appears then to let the user know there is an error. Or does annyone have a better idea?
  13. Hi Everyone! Where are my experts? I am undertaking a project at work. The project contains analog style motor positioning circuits (operational amplifiers, integrators, and other PI elements). Not that this is relevant to the post yet ;) .It's my first PLC project ever! I am using the Schneider M258 with SoMachine 4.1 The PLC is talking to SoMachine via Ethernet (obviously I have a router between the PLC and my pc).I can Login and run the first POU I created. It's a simple And logic circuit for now. I have a co worker (c programmer) agreeing to help me pass data from my PLC to a browser screen. Although he's not familiar with PLC he's quite skilled writing code. He has wrote a Modbus protocol which allows him to interpret Modbus commands on his desktop.   1) Do I Need any special hardware to pass the data out of the PLC into the Router then into his browser. 2) As a trial can I send him MODBUS commands regarding my AND circuit? 3) How do I create such a command? 4) Is it possible for him to send me Modbus commands to change variables inside my program? 5) Are there web browser "plug-ins" for this idea? Thanks for reading and hopefully all of you can help me answer some of these questions.

(This is the error to open the first display). Message from Rockwell knowledge database: Error in the OS event viewer mentioned domain controller cannot be accessed to authenticate user. ***************** FTTM Issue: Can't Start with Services. Error message: The Services could not be validated using the specified username....
  15. Hi all,   currently as part of a project I am trying to communicate between a Schneider M340 plc and an Allen Bradley micrologix processor. I am programming the M340 and the micrologix has been installed by another supplier. they have mapped the Modbus registers on their side and given me a spreadsheet with these.  I am able to read values with no issue but I cannot write values back.   i've included a screenshot or the read_var and write_var instructions I am using. I would really appreciate any help if anyone has any insight on this   Mark

  17. Hi all, I am working at a company that has a paint booth that is rather outdated. It has 10 robots in the booth and the safety circuit for each robot is controlled by a Modicon Nano TSX PLC. I have managed to successfully download the programs with the PL7-07 software (managed to do it on a laptop with window XP). We have some back up programs that were taken roughly 4 years ago and I would like to load them both up on the software and compare them. Is this function possible and if so how do I do it?   Thanks  Shane

  20. Hello, We have this SCADA system Vijeo Citect 7.2 running in Windows 7. Primarily used as generator's alarm history & monitoring. PLC: OMRON C200HG All communications are good but DIGITAL data (alarms, bustie) from OMRON is not updating in real-time. (Need to restart the Vijeo Citect to make it work).  While BCD & LONGBCD datatypes (voltage, speed current) are working good and showing real-time *OFSVIJEO: INT datatypes are also working good.   21. Hi everyone, recently we got a complain about UM password protection in the CP1L. So our user intended to apply password to a CP1L PLC which doesn't have battery installed. They were testing to turning off the PLC for about a week. In the 8th day, they turned it on again and tried to upload the program from the PLC. But after they input the password, and error shows up which indicates whether the password is wrong, or already inputted wrong 5 times in a row. Further checking shows that A99.12 memory was turned on which indicates that wrong password has been inputted 5 times. This was not the actual case since we make sure no one was using the PLC in those 7 days. A99.12 by its nature is not a non-retain memory. Is it possible that during Power On, the memory is unstable that it turned On by itself? I know it can be the case on some areas like DM / WR and also the RTC memory. And since A99.12 is a Read-Only memory, we cannot use P_First_Cycle to ensure it's turned Off as what we used to do with A500.12 (Inhibit Output). Currently I'm testing it by myself, for 3 days had left the PLC Powered Off. If anyone had inputs about this please advice. Thank you
