  1. Hi, We are receiving an error "*Error** PLC of all MODBUS/TCP connection modules Port No. is mismatched. When using multiple MODBUS/TCP connection modules, PLC of all MODBUS/TCP connection modules Port No. must be matched.   MODBUS/TCP Connection Module  NV_E02435" while trying to add two slave connections with different port numbers.....Please clarify on this error...
  2. Hi, I have a problem with Omron PLC and Beckhoff IO. The IO just disconnects in a few minutes and comes back! I received different errors: Link off error, Illegal slave disconnection, process data reception timeout. When I also check "Display Diagnosis/Statistics information" I see errors on all ports A and B of all nodes.  I have called and talked to both Beckhoff and Omron.  I have two NX1 and one NJ101 to test. And I have three EP2318-0001. I have the same problem with all the PLCs and EP boxes. It does not matter if I have one, two, or three nodes. I have tried different revisions of the EP2xxx from the XML file, different settings for the slave, different task periods, and the error still is persisting.
  3. KINCO PLC as MODBUS RTU slave

Hello to everyone. I hope you are doing well. I'm trying to establish a communication between my PC and my KINCO PLC. The manual states it supports MODBUS RTU protocol, so I downloaded two different Modbus Master simulator I found out: Multiway from OMRON and qModMaster. None of them seem to work properly. I attached some pictures of the messages I get. https://ibb.co/f1mCSNt Multiway message https://ibb.co/bP5cX1t qModMaster message I include the configuration of the communication parameters. https://ibb.co/nMty8D9 PLC parameters https://ibb.co/6RTqVfC Multiway parameters https://ibb.co/N1XTccd qModMaster parameters According to the manual, in order to play the role of Modbus master with the PLC it's necessary to configure some instruction blocks (I'm programming in ladder). However, I could not find any block to configure as Modbus slave. I don't know what else I can do. I'm in trouble with this task. Am I making some mistake? Thanks for your attention.  Kind regards!
  4. Hello, denizens of Mr.PLC. I'm trying to talk to an old TSX17-20, and have acquired the DOS files for PL7 22. However, when installing via floppy drive, I'm getting a fatal error saying that the User Interface is missing. FATAL ERROR: 251 Your Telemecanique system in incomplete. Ensure that User Interface is correctly installed.   I'm aware that PL722 (and PL7-1/2/3, etc.) require Telemecanique's DOS User Interface to run, but I can't for the life of me find installation files, and, as it is no longer supported by Schneider, no luck getting it from their site. Apparently, it used to be hosted there. Would any of you wonderful folk have the links or files to this user interface? Apparently, PL7 22 5.0/5.1 have never required/no longer require a license. It was a drag to find these files, so I'm posting the PL722 files (in two zips, representing the two floppies) so that there's an easy to find reference for them. PL722D1.ZIP PL722D2.ZIP
  5. Hello guys, I have an application with a Delta PLC (slave), Load cell module and Delta HMI.  The problem is that the Delta PLC has to report to the already existing platform of Siemens S7 PLC (Master) with Profibus. The Master (Siemens) writes and reads data from the Delta PLC. The question is, how can I set up the Profibus communication? Are there any documentations about the Memory Mapping, configuration etc. There are some modules for Profibus Slave from Delta but I cannot find any references or anything. Thanks in advance.
  6. I have a Siemens HMI 6AV2 124-0MC01-0AX0 in my machine. I want to clone the display on the HMI to PC/Laptop. My question is: 1. What software that I need for this task? 2. What kind of interface that I need between the HMI and PC/Laptop (for example ethernet cable, etc)? 3. Do I need to communicate with PLC connected with HMI or can I just connect with the HMI? Thanks in advance for the answer.
  7. Dear Engineerds,   My Master (non siemens) doesn't see the Holding Registers of the Slave (S7-1200) plc. However the Q coils are fine and all Diagnostics don't show errors. The Hardware: S7-1200 – CPU 1215C CM PtP – CB1241 RS485 (6ES7 241-1CH30-1XB0) - Half Duplex RS584   Firmware: Modbus_Comm_Load (V3.1) Modbus_Slave (V4.0)   I've tried with various DB, UDTs and manipulating HR_Start_offset parameter with no success. Could you advise what am I possibly missing? Modbus_Comm_Load_DB_Snapshot.xlsx Modbus_Slave_DB_Snapshot.xlsx

  10. CIF11 Modbus Slave

Hi dears  I have one CP1H CPU and CIF11 option port on it. CP1H will be slave and I want to use modbus slave function. (ABB is Master and CIF11 is slave) I check the logic with modbus poll and i didnt have any Receive from CIF11. I have some questions: 1- which terminal in CIF11 must be used? SDA+,SDA- or RDA+,RDA- ( I use Modbus RS485 two wire ) 2- I mounted CIF11 on port 2 and in setting of port 2 I Choose RS-232C in Mode, Stop bit=1, parity=none , Data bit=8. is there another settings? 3- I set CIF11 DIP switches ( ON,ON,ON,OFF,OFF,ON) is it OK? 4-I change 4,5 DIP Switches to ON in CP1H.   Thanks
  11. There have been many good discussions on the applicability of cloud-based solutions for manufacturing and process control systems. On one side, some people have concerns regarding security and control of the information, on the other side, there are identified benefits enabled by cloud systems. From VMS minicomputers to DOS and Windows, from ArcNet to Ethernet, it is inevitable the industrial automation systems shall adopt the technologies that are getting predominant in IT general use; the current environment that I am calling the “Cloud-iPad era” is no different; therefore the practical discussion is not if those new technologies will be applied in the industrial environment, but how. This paper is not intended to join the conceptual discussion about the cloud, but just to present a few simple practical examples, where cloud technologies are already enhancing industrial automation solutions and enabling new business opportunities. 13. Is it possible to use FX3U-485ADP-MB as a serial port to send and receive user defined string/data to and from a computer? I have a FX3U-32M PLC and two FX3U-485ADP-MB adapters. I have been using PLC with one adapter as Modbus Master. Now i want to use both adapters, where one will be Modbus Master as usual and the other I want to use to send and receive data to and from computer terminal (Example - Realterm). I have a third party 232/485 converter which works really well. Lets me just describe my requirement straight forward. I want to display process parameters on a windows computer based user interface (UI) and also set some variables in PLC from the same UI. The UI has access to serial ports of computer.
  14. Hello I have a scenario that's been bugging me for some time now. The scenario consists of a Micrologix 1400 that I need to control it's output from modbus/tcp. In detail what I really need is to be able to manipulate the O0:0 through modbus/tcp. The PLC would be the master and I would be the slave that triggers the connection to the master. I'm using a Modbus-Client on my PC and that should be the slave. Any idea as to how I can manage that? Currently I can send data to the master but everything is "stored" on B10 and I have no idea how I could write directly on O0. Thanks a bunch guys. PS: I'm borderline noob.
  15. Does anyone have any experience with the recently released user web interface for the iQ-F and iQ-R series. Supported by GX Works3 version 1.047Z or later, the firmware Version 1.100 or later. We have the sample user web interface running in a FX5U, its working very smoothly. I am currently looking into how to edit the html page, does anyone have any tips or useful tools/resources that I could use to work things out.       iQ-F Customer News regarding FW Update 08-2018.pdf
  16. Communication

good evening. Someone can give tips on how to configure and physical the application with the following items: Advanced Interface Converters (AIC +), PanelView800 2711R-T7T A and MicroLogix 1500 Programmable Controllers My doubts are about the configuration of the communication, and I have doubts about the physical environment and protocol to be used.

  18. My client is a pharmaceutical company and they want to interface their Blood Gas Analyzer (which is a RAPIDPoint 500) to a Controllogix PLC via EtherNet. I have attached a Spec that I found, which gives the initial information you would need to do this. It says that the BGA can transmit data in ASCII. However, it doesn't list what bits I need to send to the device in order for it to send the PLC the data. I've tried contacting Siemen's (who makes the BGA) and they were useless. I also tried searching the RA knowledgebase.  Does anyone have any insight on how to communicate with a device in this way? Thank you Tyler RP500_LIS_5_20_13_-_Rev_C_.pdf
  19. I first saw AS-i at a factory this week and am trying to figure out what Allen Bradley modules can interface it. I am not finding anything, does AS-I go under some different name?
  20. Mitsubishi iQ-R Series

Hi Has anyone got any real life experience with the new Mitsubishi iQ-R series?  I have been assigned a major capital project to replace our old ageing DCS system.  Our current PLC backbone is about 40x Q2ASHCPU, 10x Q06UDEHCPU and about 2xA2SCPU all linked up via Melsecnet/10 network with communication links into the DCS system via Modbus RTU utilising the QJ71MB91 modbus card. Due to the nature of my companies process and the limitations on plant downtime it is estimated this project could take up to 5 years to complete, with this in mind I am wanting to install a system that will not be obsolete (or unsupported) in a few years, hence, I am very interested in the new iQ-R series with it being Mitsubishi's latest and greatest.  However, recent communications with my local Mitsi rep is not filling me with confidence that the iQ-R series is not as well supported/developed as the Q series.  A major requirement during the development stages of this project is the new ability of the new processors to be able to talk to the old DCS up until a point where the DCS nodes will be completed removed and replaced with a modern SCADA package.  Hence, the requirement of a Modbus Slave card for the iQ-R (i.e. a QJ71MB91 equivalent) which I am told is in development, but has no fixed timescales.  Previous experience with Mitsubishi developments of cards is normally years not months. Any information anyone can provide on their experience of the iQ-R series would be greatly appreciated and if anyone knows if a Modbus Slave card is in development that would be useful.  I realise i could utilise the Q series extension rack with a iQ-R processor but this is not the route i want to go down. Thanks for any help and apologises for the war and peace. Cheers Matt

  22. Beckhoff and AS-Interface

Hi, I’m trying to control 10 Safety switchgear using AS interface, and since I’m using Beckhoff as a PLC I want to use "KL6211 | AS-Interface master terminal" as a Gateway but since this is the first time I’m using Beckhoff I’m a bit lost, So my questions are: -          Is it a good idea to use a Beckhoff ASI terminal? -          How to configure it? -          Is there a possibility to configure it using embedded PC ( I’m using CX2030)? Excuse my English.
  23. Master/Slave Communication

Hello guys, I am using Fatek PLC's to communicate with each other as a Master & Slave through zigbee which is connected through RS485. And I succeed. But the issue is that I have to communicate each other at a distance of about 2km where zigbee out of range to each other. I am bit confused here; 1) whether I use RF booster? Does it work? 2) Should I introduce extra PLC as a repeater between master slave? But this(extra added) PLC repeater also become as a master(Master Repeater).or any idea? Most important I can using Fatek Protocol or Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII prootcol.
  24. 8_decimal Data Displays as only 4_Decimals !

I am Facing Problem Getting Kwh Readings From My Satec MFM(PM130-PLUS), Required for an easy & reliable Monitoring On Energy Consumption . Connected via RTU Slave Interface with SCADA User Interface (GE_Cimplicity). Here's what happening : Actual Kwh Reading has 8_decimal data digits on MFM LED Display but on Cimplicity SCADA User Interface Screen It only able to Display it as 4_Decimals point digit, eg, 63290058 kwh shows as 0058 , and 15299999 kwh shows as 9999 , and then 15300001 kwh shows as 0001 i.e 1 only! Plz Do a Rply , your slight approach to my Query Will be highly Appreciated!! :)
  25. Programming a HMI to revert to Home Screen

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone here could explain to me how I can program my human-machine interface (HMI) to revert to a Home Screen after a period of inactivity. If the user has to leave at any time, and leaves the HMI on the last screen he/she was working on, I want the HMI to revert back to my Home Screen after 60 seconds inactivity. Has anyone here done anything similar to this before? Do you think it's worth the trouble of having such a function built into the HMI? Thank you for your time and for reading.
