  1. OK,  I have a program in a Control Logix 5561 controller(ver. 19.52) that every time we go online with it, the communication between the PLC and the PC running RS5000 is so slow you cannot navigate the program efficiently. I am new to this facility but I noticed the programmer used 20 different periodic tasks to organize their program, mostly running at 30ms intervals. several are set to 10ms and some are even set to 3ms. I have gone through and found out that the short interval tasks have been overlapped 10's of millions of times, and the combined total of all scan times is over 160ms. I have a strong feeling this could be causing our comms bog down and possibly other erratic behavior but would like a second opinion. This machine has 2 indexing dials, with work stations that do work between indexes, Pick and Place operations, etc.  Is there even a need to be running these with periodic tasks? All thoughts are appreciated. Thank you
  2. Hello, I am having an issue with FIX Dynamics Real Time Database and the database columns available within when trying to query the database. On a system running iFIX 5.0, there are 19 data columns available, LHS of attached screenshot (in the screenshot example, crystal reports is used to view the columns). However in iFIX 5.9, only 15 columns are available (RHS of attached screenshot ), how can these missing columns be made available to be accessed? Regards, John
  3. I'm very new to sysmac. I am trying to display the current date and time in the corner of each of my HMI pages. I saw a button labeled date and time. It is asking for a variable for behavior. Do I need to write some basic structured text or FB in plc to get date and time and pass it over? I figured the button would update itsself since when I placed it on the screen it had the current date and time and refreshes every time I leave the page and come back.
  4. Hello         I'm new for PLC, I need to set pump turn ON/OFF  in 4 time/day every day => [8:00-8:10]a.m, [11:00-11:20]a.m, [2:00-2:10-14:10[p.m, [5:00-5:20]p.m ** I have Omron PLC CP1E-N30 , Could you advise me, please ?
  5. There have been many good discussions on the applicability of cloud-based solutions for manufacturing and process control systems. On one side, some people have concerns regarding security and control of the information, on the other side, there are identified benefits enabled by cloud systems. From VMS minicomputers to DOS and Windows, from ArcNet to Ethernet, it is inevitable the industrial automation systems shall adopt the technologies that are getting predominant in IT general use; the current environment that I am calling the “Cloud-iPad era” is no different; therefore the practical discussion is not if those new technologies will be applied in the industrial environment, but how. This paper is not intended to join the conceptual discussion about the cloud, but just to present a few simple practical examples, where cloud technologies are already enhancing industrial automation solutions and enabling new business opportunities. 6. Anyone with knowledge of a VBA Run-time error '4205'  Can't find the project database! VBA stops at gTagDb.GetTag  Here are some things I already tried.  Cleared the CACHE files in the project.  Deleted .CAC file in TAG folder,  Removed Watcom SQL 4.0 from ODBC User DSN.  Uninstall and Re-install RSView32 Works 7.50 and then upgraded to 7.60.
  7. Hi,  I'm new to TwinCAT 2 and i'm upgrading a long time design (hence the TwinCAT 2 reference), to read a more sensitive torque signal.  I'm using a Beckhoff CX1030 as my PLC Controller.  I needed to add 'homing' to my motor sequence and confirmed with Maxon, im using the function blocks correctly and in the correct sequence to establish my 'absolute zero'/'home' position.  The motor has an output to write to:  ControlWord, which tells the motor that the position it is sitting in is '0.'  My program compiles, it runs, it writes each function block, but it's not seeming to get back to the test run opMode, even though i tell it to and the function block performs the 'Write' function.  it's stuck at zero and not reading an analog input signal from my torque sensor.  so im getting an artificial torque reading through every test.   i think this is related to my tare motion.  I start the program, home the motor, get into profile velocity mode, tare my sensor, enter profile position mode, go back to position 0, then back to profile velocity mode, run a test, sample data, go back to 'home' or '0.'  I wonder 1st, is my variable not linked properly through the system manager?  2nd, i set a boolean variable to set the 4th bit to 1 in my control word write (setting the 4th bit high will set my current position to absolute zero), but did i not connect the program to the main sequence properly?  looking to read a valid signal again and see that my motor moves back to 'home' each time.  Do i not need to home the motor after the tare, since the tare nulls out the torque value after the tare? after this i need to program my sample period, instead of it being fixed, as it is currently written and then use my home position as my trigger to start sampling.... Beckhoff applications department is overloaded, currently and can't help and this is all beyond the knowledge of the general support line.  I've gotten fairly far, on my own, but of course, the project is under a time crunch.   Does anyone know twincat well enough to help guide me?
  8. Real world simulator

When we simulate a plc program we have to manually input the changes in input(like magnetic reed switch) For example when a cylinder goes from up to down reed turn OFF and reed down turns ON Is there any program available where we can define such things that will turn on and off during the process automatically.
  9. Any body having sample program. Please share.
  10. CX SUPERVISOR

HELLO ALL I HAVE PROBLEM CX SUPERVISOR RUN TIME WORKING WHEN I OPEN RUN TIME AFTER 2 OR 3 HOUR IT WILL STOP AND COMMUNICATION CUT FROM PLC I USE OMRON PLC AND MT NETWORK  SETTING IN PLC  ETHERNET (FINS/TCP)  I GIVE ONE IP ADDRESS  172.17.0.85          AFTER CUT COMMUNICATION THIS MESSAGE WILL COMING MY PC    - COULD NOT WRITE TO PROJECT FILE. THE DISK IS FULL,WRITE-PROTECTED OR HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE DRIVER  ple told me some one  how to salve this problem
  11. Hi every body. I want to get and set Time Picker value in process analyst in citect scada using cicode. Also  I tried to find an event or function when time picker value is changed , is called but find nothing. May you help me please?
  12. I want to do a calculation in the FX3u-48MT ESS and combine it with the input from HMI GOT1020. By the time i put input in the HMI with real number, and i calculate that with some equation just like in the manual as seen in the picture. I was confused when the result in the DINT is too many and in the pulse, it got minus, when it should be plus. Is there any way to fix this ? and how to round up the result correctly ? I really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
  13. Tia Portal V14 Real time graph

I current have 2 variable: Displacement vs Pressure. I need to draw a real time graph on Comfort Panel. The problem with using just f(x) trend is that the minimum time between updating a point is 0.5 sec and that is for ever in my application as the whole cycle last only 5 sec and I have to plot 500 points in that time. Is there a way to do real time graph using Historical data without any time delay. If anybody can guide me through any sample program or material would e helpful. Thanks
  14. To Infinity

Hello.  This is my first post and I hope someone has a solution. I have a program calculating Gal/sec adding to a running total and have up to the end.  Using REAL I can accumulate up to 16,777,216 (2^24) and using DINT up to 2,147,483,648 (2^31), but I need to have my registers continue past these limits.  I've read through many topics here and have tried the Rockwell Knowledge Base but can't seem to find a solution that truly works.  I have gone so far as to transfer the DINT to a string, cut the string into pieces and reassemble them in an Odometer type concatenation. If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it.  I know I'm not the only one with this problem. PS & BTW - I'm using Studio 5000 v24 with a 1769 L33ER
  15. Hi All, On our plant, we are using one Rockwell  PLC model 5573 with HMI(Allen Bradley 1500P). I am automation engineer but I did not work on the Rockwell PLC. Now I am planning to install the GPS clock on our plant. And I want clock will synchronize our Rockwell plc as well. Could someone advice what is the best option for this model to do the time synchronization.   Thanks in Advance, Warm Regards/Waqar
  16. Hi.  I am quite new to Sysmac Studio. Working on my first project with it now, coming from CX-series.  I have got one problem i can not find a solution to. On the NA-HMI I want to have an input display where i can input a time of the day.  As far as I can see NA do not allow me to use "TIME_OF_DAY" variables in the Data Edit component. Is there a solution to this?
  17. Cycle Timer

Hi all, I try to realize a cycle timer. A counter is triggered by a movement ( clamp close ) Then the machine does it things, piston here, and there and when the clamp closes again it should show me the real cycle time. Is there a timer/counter that is independent from the PLC cycle? I am using a CJ1M CPU11 Ver. 3.0
  18. Convert time

Hello. this is my firs post is possible to convert the elapsed time of timer to real or int i need to make some math operation with the elapsed time thanks
  19. I would like to use the actual Cycle Time (in seconds) of the NJ101 CPU in a Structured Text  math equation.  You might also call it the Task Period... However it's called, It needs to be the amount of time that has elapsed from the last calculation of the ST math equation.  It must be a variable that also satisfies this looping equation: Time:= Time +cycle time .. so that the master equation, which is calculating position information, based on TIME .. is up to date with each calculation in the loop. How do I insert that cycle-time, which might not be identical for each loop, (or, is it) ?  Thanks, Regards, Michael
  20. In my application the LMC automation controller will be calculating date-based lot codes. I would like to synchronise the internal clock with a time server such as pool.ntp.org. I can't find any info in the Schneider-Electric SoMachine help files or on the web. Does anyone know if this is possible?
  21. real to integer number

Hello, Could somebody give for me advice how need seperate real number to integer? for example I have in D10 real number 10,9 for me need to do integer number 10 and 9. The real number seperate to integer I am using this LADDER line, attached picture. In D90 I got 10, But how to isolate the number of decimal places,I can not think of. Please help for me
  22. Hi,  i want to read real time and date in simulation mode. How can i do this in Unity pro? Thanks for helping
  23. Time Based Interrupt

Hello guys!!! My system constist of: CPU: Q03UDE Some I/O modules Some Intelligent Modules (Q68ADI,QJ71PB92V...) A High Speed Digital Input card QX80H (setting responce time 0.1msec) 1 digital input from QX80H occupied to count the pulse that a flow meter sends. The pulse corresponds to the totalizer of the Flow meter (FCI ST100 series Thermal Mass) and it has fixed width 0.5msec. The flow meter sends 4 pulses / minutes approximately according to current flow rate. My Main Program has scan time 2.4msec. I think that PLC ignores some pulses because of the pulse width is lower than scan time of my program. Is it right? So, the PlC program calculates wrong total flow.... What can I do to avoid this issue? Attached you can find a sketch what I mean... I though to program a time based interrupt every 0.3msec. Is it right and possible in Q03UDE CPU.....? If yes, how can to do it? Thanks a lot in advance for your any help!!!
  24. I am having problems expressing an ANALOG OUTPUT 16bit INT word (0-10V Proportional Valve Voltage) as a REAL decimal number. From my understanding the word is divided into 2 (8bit) bytes...one representing the whole number value and the second the decimal value. We're using BL20 I/O Module (german therefore LSB first I believe). I need to MOV/COP (read) the value, CONVERT it into a REAL number, Manipulate the REAL VALUE, then CONVERT the MANIPULATED REAL Value back into a 16bit INTEGER & WRITE the NEW Integer Value into Proportional Valve Voltage Location.   I also have a similar situation regarding our Incremental Encoder. In this scenario the  pulse count is obviously a whole number (no decimals) where 4 (16bit) bytes represent the REAL Count Value.. I have read other posts on similar conversion topics and understand the general premise, but I'm having problems specifying write parameters.. -  i.e. writing bits 0-7 from an INT into SINT[0] (HIGH BYTE representing the whole # value? ) and writing bits 8-15 into SINT[1] (LOW BYTE representing the decimal value) THEN CONVERTING into REAL # (Voltage fed to Proportional Valve)     ...manual section... page 282&283 http://pdb2.turck.de/repo/media/_us/Anlagen/d300717.pdf - i.e. writing bits 0-15 from INT[0] , INT[1] , INT[2] and INT[3] into a LINT (not sure if correct) THEN CONVERTING into REAL # (Encoder Count) ...manual section... page 17 (current count value) http://pdb2.turck.de/repo/media/_en/Anlagen/D301224.pdf ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... project file if interested.. https://sites.google.com/site/lyncedrgb/eva/untitledpost-2/StellaPLC.ACD
  25. Hi everyone, I would like to create a PLC code using RSlogix 5000 program in order to measure time delays on the network. Can anyone help me to do this? Thanks.
