  1. Gentlemen, I am beginner in field of PLCs and I need some help to create backup of project / program running on PLCs installed at our project. We have a  Quantum Hot Standby PLCs ( 140 CPU 67160) installed at our water treatment plant; we connect to PLC via ethernet (TCP/IP) and I am preparing backup of these installed PLCs as vendor did not give us backup project files and provided little useful documentation.  The problem is that, I have transferred the project from all of the PLCs using UnityPro XL, but for one PLC, when I connect to it the "transfer from PLC" option is not available. I am hoping if someone could help me with that.
  2. Hello,I am trying to use ProWORX NXT to view the logic of my Modicon Quantum 534 controller online. When I try to go online with it, it always times out. I am using a TCP/IP connection and my PC is in the same subnet as the controller in question. I can ping the controller's IP address just fine and when I use ProWORX NXT's Net Scan function, it recognizes that there is an Ethernet connection at that IP address but doesn't recognize it as a Modicon controller.Weirdly enough, my PC can connect to another Modicon controller of the same type and in the same subnet just fine. Can anyone help me with this issue?
  3. Hi, i'm new to this forum. I encounter some problem with the existing set up, where  Quantum Hot Stanby PLC (Master) can't read/write to 3rd party ESD PLC (Triconex). Quantum PLC need to read from ESD PLC where the configured IO for modbus is in bool(coil) instead of word (register). Any idea what i can do beside getting ESD PLC to change from boolean to word? thanks,
  4. Hello everyone; Long time no chat, been way too busy. Got to cruise the forums for some pay-back after this, it's been a while since I gave back. We've run into a problem beyond my experience, so I have a question for people well versed in the Modicon PLC remote I/O world. We're having some drop-outs with a remote rack of a quantum PLC system, and can find no problems with the cables, taps, or the RIO drop card. We're seeing what seems like a lot of retries, but then we don't know what constitutes a lot. There are 10 drops on this PLC. Drops 1, 9, and 10 are quantum and drops 2-8 are old 800 series. It's a CRP931-00 remote I/O head with a bunch of J890-001 cards, and two CRA-931-00 for the new racks. Funny, but the two quantum racks have the most retries of all the cards. A couple of the 800 series have almost no retries by comparison. The quantum drop 9 has had dropouts at random, sometimes twice or three times a day, sometimes none for a couple days. Causes major problems, obviously. Drop 9 is actually at the end of the trunk cable, so it's got the terminal resistor on one tap. Drop 10 was added later between drops 3 and 4, and has more retries than either of them, but no dropouts. We've asked Schneider for a contractor who can perform a RIO cable network integrity test, but it seems to mostly be these two quantum heads with the most retries, and only the one has been dropping out. Is there anyone who has seen something like this and can comment? We've changed almost everything around it and there's been no change to the retries, and the occasional drop-out still happens. Hope things are going great for everyone out there. Happy programming, speakerman.
  5. My CPU 534 14B doesn't work. Run led flash 7 times. no possible MB+ connection, ERROR code meanings: 300 EXEC not loaded or 301 EXEC Checksum. It was working well then nothing can't even communicate with it. reset power without battery, download an other firmware (EXEC) 1.11 instead of 1.16, same problems. Someone can help on that case? I'm using NXT as programming software.
  6. Hello everyone! I'm new around, and have been looking for some tips on communications. I need to communicate a Quantum PLC (master) to a GE RX3i. I was thinking on working it out through IOScanning, for it seems the best way to read and write data. On the other hand, I think to download this new config, the PLC must be stopped, so direct messaging seems the alternative. I must say this is my first time actually configuring modbustcp comms, so I want to make sure it works out. The comms are like this: i- Quantum reads a series of variables (holding registers, right?) and uses them for logics and for magelis. ii- Quantum must write very few registers to Fanuc, so if I configure IOScanning with, say, %MW350, will it deposit the data on %R40350? Does this standard addressing mean I actually get the info on %R350? iii- Does direct messaging config require to stop PLC for addition of blocks? This Quantum was programmed on FBD, which I'm really not that familiar with. Please help me, I want to use the most reliable messaging for this are somewhat critical processes.
