I try and fill in all the questions and give good feedback but i have also ignored them all together and never heard anything else. For the record I am a big fan of the rockwell support it may take several calls to get a problem resolved but they have never let me down.

Hello, I am currently working on programming my first sortation system.  Attached is a blue print of the in feed conveyors and their loadout lines.  As boxes merge together they will be scanned by the barcode scanner.  From there we will be told which lane each box must go down, from the WCS.   My question is, without encoders, what would be the best way to control this system? Counting the packages as they pass through the photoeye? Or setting timers?   Thanks, James Sorting Conveyor Layout.pdf
  5. We've purchased an Autoclave at auction with CompactLogix L32e and PanelView Plus 1000.  With the help of some forum members and a local engineering company we have the machine finally working! I'm looking for some advise as to how to train users for standerd operation.  For example:  Their is a toggle switch on the front which powers on everything (PanelView, processer, switch, etc).  We close at 5pm each night.. Should we Power down the machine each night, or leave it on? Another user mentioned a battery and I was a bit confused with the manual. With the machine off, Is the PLC only holding the program because of the battery?? I have backups of the following.. (.acd, .apa, .mer) files.  I also have created a Disc Image of the Internal Flash card on the PanelView.  Is their anything else I should have a backup of? Their is a CF card in the PLC.  It has a folder called "Logix" and one called "System Volume Information"  In the Logix folder is  a CurrentApp folder with a .bin and .p5k file.  Does anyone know what exactly these are doing?? Any other advise is greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much for your time.
  6. Omron MODBus

    I'm attempting to connect a CJ1W-SCU32 modbus card with 2 ports to several modbus sensors. I am only reading from the senors, not sending any commands. I have been told two different ways to do this: 1. CMND block using Modbus RTU code 2804. 2. Using the Protocol Macro ModbusPM_Master with the PMCR function block. I've additionally found an easy modbus configuration tool that unfortunately seems to take up too many registers that I will be using. Does anyone have any examples of code for setting up MODBUS TCP with either of those 2 methods? I am having a hard time finding any. Thanks.
  7. Hi, I have encountered an unexpected "PRI" LED indication of 1756-RM Series B module. When the affected redundancy module is set to primary, the status of the "PRI" LED indicator is blinking red. On the other hand, it is set to a solid red when the RM is set as secondary. I have read the manual and there are only two expected behavior for the "PRI" LED indicator, green if it is set as the primary and off if it is secondary. Does someone encountered this scenario already?   P.S. The RM does not have any minor/major faults when accessed. The status indicator indicates "PRIM" when the affected module is set as primary and "SYNC" when set as secondary. Manual switchover between controllers are done and was successful.   8. I had communication working between panelview and PLC by changing the IP of the panelview to same network as PLC. A maintenance tech removed the IO module with the machine running and we have now lost communication.  It gets stuck now loading the RsLogix symbols. After 5 min. It lets me continue, but I see ? Instalead of sensor values. when I go to terminal settings on panelview and set to dhcp, it loads the RsLogix symbols and the program, but I still get the ? Marks instead of values.. i also noticed the IO led on PLC is now off and am pretty sure it was on when all was working.. any advice?? Thanks for your time
  9. Hi Everyone, I am trying to connect a Toshiba TRSPUX10A plc to a hitech PWS6600 HMI (Beijer electronics). I am using RS485 connection, and trying to get the communication going between the plc and hmi using Modbus RTU protocol. The PLC is slave and and HMI is Master, and I have a Modbus slave tag table for the plc. HMI Software: ADP3 PLC Software: TRPGMS01 Our supplier of the product cannot assist me as he passed away, and the manufacturers of the systems refer me to each other but with no luck. I have asked numerous system integrators however they only work with the systems they supply. I want to read a Modbus slave tag: Holding register 4500001 in the plc and have it displayed on the hmi.     Hi, i'm actually working on a project with a CPU33 CJ2M and a external analog output CJ1W-AD04U I'm trying to read the informations coming from a PT100 sensor and control a valve which act on the temperature. i'm kind of lost in this project because it's my "first time" with Omron ! Which function block must i use or how must i program this would you show me example ?  Thank you for the help guys.
  11. Hi everybody. I have 1 QJ71C24n-R4 with 2 channels CH1 & CH2 and I want to use Modbus RTU for both of channels to read data from electric meter. Now I can do it well with CH2 but cannot with CH1. The reason is echo back setting, my GX work 2 only able to prohibit echo back on CH2, not able on CH1. Does anyone know about this problem? Please give me some advise. Thank you so much.

  13. C28P processor

    I purchased a couple of C28P units on Ebay, thinking they were I/O units which I could connect to my C28K. Unfortunately, when I tried to use syswin software to enter a ladder program into the units, I got rejected by the software.  Can someone tell me what software I need to communicate with C28P.  If not, does anyone want to trade these units for C28K..

  15. Has anybody tried communicating Allen Bradley 5069 Compact logix PLC with Red Lion HMI ?  I am unable to communicate them in spite of adding AB tags via L5K file which gives me no error. I am able to see all the tags in Crimsion 3.0 software in development mode.  However, PLC & HMI are not communicating with each other. I am able to ping to both, using the same program in PLC of which I generated L5K file.  I think it may have something to do with the driver as 5069 is a new line of PLC Rockwell come out with only in 2016.

We have a sterilizer w/ Allen Bradley controls which we bought at auction.  It has a panelview plus 1000.  It came with a CD containing .mer and .apa files.  I was able to load the .mer file via the configuration screen by using the external CF card.  When I run the application, their is a login button in the bottom right which when pushed brings up a user/password screen.  We do not know the user/password for this.  Is it possible to find the password by somehow reviewing the files.  We do not have any software, and do not want to make any changes to the program (rather than changing the password).  I've attached the files in case anyone can help.   17. HELP WITH WPLSOFT DELTA PLC

    Hello , I'm using DVP12SE11R Delta PLC . I would like to read data from an external device using RS485 communication. In the WPLSOFT i have informed that i gotta use MODRD command in order to read the data . but i am not sure how to use it properly.  the data is formed as one bit ('1' or '0') i wanna read 10 registers using MODRD although those registers are not ordered one after another and i know MODRD can read 6 registers one after another. Then i would like to use that bit as a Normally Open contact in the WPLSOFT and turn on a coil. i would like to get some help with it. thanks.

    Dear all,  I am requite to control a load cell indicator with my Panasonic PLC, FP0R-T32MT Panasonic Modbus setting I need to send out the command code as below: 01 10 04 4C 00 01 02 0B B8 EA DE Currently I am using the function F145 SEND   DT10 : 00001 (hex) DT11: 1001 (hex) DT20: 0BB8 (hex) DT21: 2CBA (hex) DT0: 0 (hex) With these setting my output function code is: 01 06 04 4C 0B B8 4E 6F If i modify DT10: to 00002 (HEX) 01 10 04 4C 00 02 04 0B B8 2C BA DA 78 01 10 04 4C 00 02 81 2F This is slightly near to what is want. But i cant modify the no. of write registers and no. of write data.Does anyone know what can i do to change it?

    Does someone can help me. I try to make communication between omron CJ2M and CompactLogix 1769-L33ER. I found a document in this site to do the same with control logix but it doesnt work. The eds file does nt have the same parameters in Omron Network configurator. Does someone do this in this site ?   Thanks for the help

  23. Hello.  This is my first post and I hope someone has a solution. I have a program calculating Gal/sec adding to a running total and have up to the end.  Using REAL I can accumulate up to 16,777,216 (2^24) and using DINT up to 2,147,483,648 (2^31), but I need to have my registers continue past these limits.  I've read through many topics here and have tried the Rockwell Knowledge Base but can't seem to find a solution that truly works.  I have gone so far as to transfer the DINT to a string, cut the string into pieces and reassemble them in an Odometer type concatenation. If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it.  I know I'm not the only one with this problem. PS & BTW - I'm using Studio 5000 v24 with a 1769 L33ER
  24. Particulate Measurement In CX Programmer?

    I am currently in the process of an efficiency project for a company looking to measure at what point their process starts to create particulate (in this case, smoke) so we can accurately defer the smoke into a combustion chamber to be burnt off. My question is, is it possible to use the Dywer SERIES PMT2 Particulate Transmitter for our measurements using a CJ2M-CPU33 Omron Controller and CX Programmer. http://www.dwyer-inst.com/PDF_files/PDS/DS_PMT2Rev.1.pdf If we can use this, I am wondering which cards I would have to get for communication to this transmitter? CUrrently I have analog in and out, (DA041 and AD081-V1), and digital in and out, (ID211 and OC201). Any information on getting this sensor set up is appreciated. Thanks for your time.  We have purchased from auction a Getinge Autoclave (sterilizer) with Allen-Bradley controls (CompactLogix L32E).  The machine has a PanelView Plus 1000 installed.  A CD came with the machine w/ the following files.. HMI Project - (.apa file) Runtime (.mer file) Their is also a compact flash card installed in the CompactLogix L32E.  On the Panel View, their is an external Compact Flash slot, but no card, and on the inside of the panel view (if i remove the back cover) their is a compact flash card slot with a card installed.  I haven't checked what is on either of those cards yet.. We cannot get the program to load on the panel view. When the machine is powered on, the panel view goes through a quick dos setup screen and then the screen turns blue and we are stuck with an hour glass icon.  The icon will move depending upon where you touch on the screen.  I can boot the panel view in safe mode (by hitting the default button, then reset) at which point I get a message stating that the machines files may be corrupted and leaves me the options to Download new Firmware, or Continue.  Hitting Continue nothing happens, and choosing Download gives me Ethernet, or Serial options.  The Panel View is connected to the PLC via ethernet so I choose this option and it  gets stuck at this point. We do not want to make any changes to the program, but just to get it to run on the machine.  We do not have ANY of the software. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Craig
