  1. Hey Everyone,   My company decided to purchase a piece of equipment from China, and I have the pleasure of updating its terrible existing controls. We were given the PLC program by the manufacturer, so I was able to make my changes pretty easily - or at least that would be the case if I could actually connect to the dang thing. The source program is indeed openable and editable via GX developer (the original configuration shows it as an FX3). I figured connecting should be straightforward, but I was wrong.    I initially used a serial/usb converter that I've used on some older Allen Bradley equipment (which worked fine for that). However, after no luck using it on the "Mitsubishi", I purchased a different cable that I found recommended on this forum (Tripp Lite USA-19HS - https://www.alliedelec.com/product/tripp-lite/usa-19hs/70101537/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9iBBhCJARIsAE9qRtB_n8TVAnJdFyYokoEu42W6H6LaT4kVsgJQI1qvPUsUF3rFviKpbt0aApLHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). Still, no luck. I've tried 7E1 and every baud rate possible, as well as some other bit/parity configurations (and yes, I've verified that I'm using the right com port, as well as tried moving the converter to different ports and trying those). Nothing seems to go through.  I have almost no experience with Mitsubishi beyond a couple of FX5s (which have worked fine, but I connect to those via ethernet). Any help would be greatly appreciated; if I can't make these changes, I'm going to end up rebuilding the whole cabinet with a PLC I can rely on.   Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello,  Greetings everyone, I want to communicate RFID with Nexgenie 2K PLC via serial communication protocol (RS 422), I am using Codesys 2.3 software for the development, may I get any sample program regarding this or someone can suggest me how can I implement my program, Thanks in advance.
  3. Dear Mr. PLC forum members, I am brand new to the world of PLC’s and I am looking for advice on PLC platform selection for a device prototype. The proposed PLC is for a “smart” hydroponic system. Please see system I/O and other parameters below. Parameter 1: Price - I am self-funding this so price of PLC and software is important. Happy to spend ~$2000 for PLC; I/O cards and related hardware. Total prototype cost is around $15,000 including PLC. Parameter 2: Availability & Support in Australia. Parameter 3:Newbie Friendly: I intend to code the PLC myself and have never coded a thing in my life before.  Parameter 4:Discrete Outputs: 11; Discrete Inputs: 0; Analog Outputs: 2-3; Analog Inputs: 9  Parameter 5: Capability to extend to IOT for remote access control and monitoring (via cellular or wifi router)   As you can see, this is a relatively simple automation project. All my research seems to point to Automation Direct’s BRX PLC but I just wanted to get some suggestions and feedback before purchasing. Anything else that might suit my needs? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Bruce

  6. Hello All,   Semi-noob here with Mitsubishi PLCs. I'm starting a project in which we are upgrading an existing A Series PLC with the Q.  Is there a datasheet somewhere that lists compatible software within Mitsubishi's lineup? I had no luck in searching their site.   Also, (in the same project) the existing network uses DeviceNet. I have the Q series compatible card for that - but within what software does one configure the network?   Thank you.

  9. Proface with Serial Printer

Dear Sir, Good day. I facing difficulty on using proface to print out the data using serial printer. I did follow all the instruction on proface reference manual but still fail to print out anything. Anyone here having experience on this issue? Thanks.
  10. I'm a young Controls Engineer at an integration company, and I need assistance.   I have a client that has about 330 different alphanumeric product numbers broken down by length and width. The operator must be able to select the product number at the HMI to pass along to the robot we are integrating. Is there a way to be able to have the operator select the product number simply, without having to scroll over 300 items in a single control list. The HMI is not chosen yet, so it can be GE, Rockwell/AB, or Automation Direct, but we are using a AB ControlLogix Processor. Racking my brain and I have little VBA/Scripting experience.
  11. Hi all,  I want to ask some questions regarding Ethernet Communication with FX3U PLC series. I have 2 PLCs of FX3U series (FX3U-48M and FX3U-64M) and I want to monitor its data (input and output) using ethernet communication in real time. My questions are: 1. Does FX3U PLC have ethernet port so I can connect it directly to my Laptop/PC? 2. If no, do I need to use FX3U-ENET-ADP and can it be used for 2 PLC or only 1? 3. What software do I need to use to configure the communication between PLC and FX3U-ENET-ADP? 4. Does this configuration change the existing PLC program? 5. Can i transmit the data wireless-ly using some kind of ethernet to wifi adapter and what additional hardware do i need for that?
  12. Hi all  I need help with communication between Mitsubishi L06CPU-P with Siemens S7-1500 by Modbus TCP. 15. Hello everyone! I've installed GX works 3 according to the instructions in "https://plc4me.com/gx-works3-v1-308q-mitsubishi-full-real-100/". I don't get any errors, I can run the PLC and simulate completely OK. In the communication test, when the configuration is missing some components in the module list: Input, output, I / O module,... (https://ibb.co/ZVMcmQn) I hope you can answer for me?
  16. Dear members ,  1.)I have sensor which i read it from analog input (0-10v)  specific value and i will pas it via analog output (0-10) to controll VFD for air spped controll .  so i'd like to keep specific value for example i will set value 260  , so if analog read  les that this value than analog output increase voltage to analog output , if analog read more than this value output decrease voltage .  2.) i have Digital to analog register D8096 which 0 value means 0 volt and 4090 means 10v , so when i need to pas value to i make MOV D200 D8090 , is there a posibility to limit write value to D200 to not pass 4090 ?

  21. How to connect + Program wire encoder

Hi all, I am not a PLC expert but can find my way within the program and would like to develop much more. For work (We sell industrial bandsaws) we have purchased a Posital Fraba wire encoder, and we would like to hook it up to our Mitsubishi FX3G PLCs to measure at what height the saw bow of the bandsaw is at that moment. Unfortunately I have little experience with connecting these things, as other encoders used in our machines are pre-installed by our factory. Below is described what functions the wires have. What I thought was the following: Pin 1 goes to an input of the PLC Pin 2 goes to + (or 24V) Pin 3 doesn't go to "Ground" as they describe, but instead to - (or 0V), which is technically ground Pin 4 and 5 we don't use, correct me if I am wrong. The saw bow goes up and down only, and I thought we don't need to use these wires.   I connected it like this, connected wire 1 to X0 on PLC and just to test I made the program read:   M8000 ------------------------------ C235 k99999   But the value stays 0, whether I pull the wire or not. So something is wrong, but what, I really can't figure out. Hope someone can help!
  22. Hello everyone, As the title suggests I am trying to display on a GOT1000 the real time frequency that the inverter is running at. I have attached my CC-Link settings and the associated programming as well. I tried using the example program from Mitsubishi but I got lost. From my understanding I should be seeing the output frequency in W3C4 however, I am not receiving any data. Any help would be appreciated.
