  1. Mitsubishi & Omron -OPC-UA - KEPWARE Server

Hi,In a project I have four Progressive Pressing Machine. Each machine with different PLC like Mitsubishi 'Q00UCPU' with 'QJ71C24N-R4', 'FX-3U-16M', 'FX2N-128MR' and Omron 'CJ2M-CPU13' with 'SCU41-V1' module. Now my task is to connect all PLC with KEPWARE Server through OPC-UA.Note: There is no Ethernet Port available and existing RS232 port are all connected to all respective HMI'sIn this scenario, I would like to know, do all the PLC that i have mentioned above supports OPC-UA through Ethernet if i add a new Ethernet module to each PLC. So the data transmission will be faster or else should I buy RS232 serial communication module to communicate through OPC-UA.And also i would like to know, what kind of "Industrial Switch" will be perfect for this application.Kindly suggest a best way to prove myself. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi all, I would like to logg data from Mitsubishi PLC to MSSQL via OPC Kepware, but I have issues to see values correctly I simulate Mitsubishi PLC on OPC, I see values on OPC client correctly ... but when I logg data to MSSQL db via DataLogger I have issues with data ... any of data are displaye as 0, string data as NULL ... What is wrong ? In attached files you can see datatypes on OPC and MSSQL. Thank you
  3. Connecting CPM1 to KEPServerEX5

Hello there, I'm having a problem with connecting my Omron CPM1 PLC with KEPServerEX5. The problem is that I can't find any drivers that support a serial connection with the CPM1. The only driver that comes close to what I'm looking for is the Omron FINS Serial driver, but that one only supports the following devices: Even if i choose the CVM1 (that has simular TAG-addresses as the CPM1) I can't get any connection because it requires an ID with the following format (UU.AAA.NNN.) and I have no idea where to get this. I also tried to using the U-CON (user-configurable) driver, but I can't figure out how to get this working. I'm running a program in the CPM1 with a Input(00.01) , Output(10.01) and Timer(T000). I used the Transaction Editor to import these tags in KEPWare: I checked the serial port settings and they are correct. The only thing I'm not sure about is the device ID, but I tried 0 until 5 and I don't think it could be any higher than that. I'm hoping any of you guys is experienced with making a serial connection to KEPWare and is able to help me with this problem. Jimmy
  4. Hi everyone,  I am trying to use Kepware to communicate with my PLC setup which is the iQ-R Series R08PCPU.  I read the documentation which is available at https://www.kepware.com/getattachment/3daf1ac3-5c76-49ce-bbfe-f0fb1015f6cc/mitsubishi-ethernet-manual.pdf I read through the setup for Kepware and the setup procedure for iQ-R series but it still didn't work.  From the documentation, it said something about "using special ladder logic to enable ethernet communications is required.", I couldn't find anything about this online.  Here what I did in addition to the documentation: - Enabled IP Packet Transfer - Ping the PLC's IP Address which was successful Does anyone have any idea what I didn't do to establish that communication between Kepware and R08PCPU?  Thank you in advance.
  5. We're running KEPServerEx 4.5 with the AB drivers to interface with a Siemens WinCC HMI. All we've done is change the L61 processor with an L72 and then KEP shows the incorrect values for the tags. We stick the L61 back in and all is okay. The Device properties haven't changed as the L72 is part of the ControlLogix 5500 family. The IP address is the same as well as the project name, etc. I've checked the properties against the KEP manual and all is okay. The manuals I have don't mention editing a device in KEPServerEx. I feel we've missed something. :hmmm: Any thoughts?
  6. I'm very new to PLCs and this sort of thing, so bear with me... Right now I have an SQL server that contains data that I want available on an Allen Bradley PLC. I've already gotten the connection into KepServer working and it generated the tags from the data. I'm able to access all of the data and use it fine with an OPC Client that's on the computer, but I'm unsure of where to go from here. I want these tags populated on the PLC via this OPC server and to remain updated. How do I get the PLC to grab these tags and do that now that they're available via OPC?
  7. Hi Guys,   I got assigned here on a job and Im trying to figure out to restore communication between an Omron PLC and kepware - kepserver. We have a moxa nport device to convert the serial to TCP/IP ,.. I am able to ping the device itself so the network communication up to there is alright. I must say that before I was asked to verify - a couple of months ago the communication was working fine. Something has happened in between these time which of course nobody knows, and I have to fix it to get it operational again,...   I uploaded here some images from the kepware and moxa nport settings   if any could assist in what is going wrong - please let me know. 1 more thing. at 1 device I was able to get updates by putting the Scan Mode on a forced setting and requesting each 500ms to pull data. Only thing is that I only get an update every 2minutes while it should be at least every second,. the data value is changing every minute.
  8. I am using PLC Modicon M221, I want to make communication between PLC Modicon M221 to OPC Kepware by modbus tcp/ip ethernet. In PLC, I use software somachine basic, I set digital input and digital output. And in OPC Kepware my address  00001, but when I switch turn On/Off in PLC, value in OPC Kepware doesnt change. Could you please correct me? Thank you   Bujang
