  1. Device point error between Parameter and PLC

Hello all, I am a beginner with PLCs programming. I have an issue on GX Developer programming software from Melsoft trying to program my Mitsubishi Q-series PLC. CPU is Q03UDCPU. When the program is written and I try to upload it to the PLC, with the write to PLC window, I check -Program -- MAIN and -Prameter -- PLC/Network/Remote, click EXECUTE and a message appears : "Device point that is set in parameter is not match the device point in PLC". I can't fix it. In Parameter - PLC Parameter - Q parameter setting (window) - I/O assignment tab : I have (see image). Whe I use CHECK button it says there is no error. The X41 input device is plugged on slot 1/00. I am making this folowing the instructions a PDF I found on the Mitsubishi electric's wesite : Q-series basic course (for GX Developer). Thanks for the help, A. S.
  2. FX3U-ENET - Module not found

Hello all,  I´ve seen quite a number of similar posts regarding this topic, but none seems to address this problem in particular. I have an FX3G-40M, with a FX3U-ENET module.  I could establish a successful connection to the PLC via RS232. My problem arises when trying to configure the ethernet module (which I want to use for remote monitoring of the PLC program). I've followed every step in configuring the connection. But when I attempt to do the WRITE operation (via RS232), I get the following indication: "The module which supported this function is not found. Please execute again after confirming the module". I can ping the module (as it has the factory IP 192.168.1.254), but can´t seem to download the configuration properly. When I plug the Ethernet cable, a green led lits up, and another one starts blinking. I´ve found numerous posts regarding this issue, but all of them had a FX3U-ENET-L module. (And the solution was simply to use another configuration software). The software I'm using: - GX Developer-FX Version 8.91V - FX Configurator-EN Version 1.30  Any hint you can give me of what can be causing this issue, will be very much appreciated. Kind Regards Martin

  4. FX3S not responding to HMI.

Hi guys, I am an Electrical engineer on a cruise ship. I have a mixer (galley equipment) that is controlled by a FX1S-10MR PLC. It uses HMI F930GOT-BWD-E. Recently we found the PLC to be malfunctioning and replaced it with a new one from our stock. The new one is FX3S-10MR. Now, when i try to increase or decrease the speed via the HMI, the PLC doesn't respond; infact, the inverter just maintains a single frequency. The PLC is "supposed" to be pre-programmed by the manufacturer of the Mixer. I have very less knowledge of PLCs and sorry if i come across as stupid. I have been reading a bit lately. Do you think it would work if i can copy the program (from the FX1S PLC of another working mixer) by using GX works2 / GX developer software and write it on this new FX3S model ? What will happen if i change the type of PLC of this FX3S model to FX1S (just speculating since it's working find with FX1S). Today i tried to view the program inside this FX3S plc on GX developer and it does have a program. I am clueless though why it's not working with the HMI. Kindly, provide me with some guidance. TIA.
  5. TOTAL FLOW OR TOTALIZER

Hi there .. i am new to plc... i have flow rate in m3/h and i want total flow or totalizer ... what is the formula for that and how can i implement it in gx developer. any kind of help will be a life saver.
  6. Hello I have an old test rig (hydraulic cylinder applies pressure to a crank in sawtooth pattern) project written in gx developer for the Q03 plc. To this plc is connected a 1041 beijer panel, I have uploaded the project to E-designer. I am rewriting the sequence code because a new but similar test is prepared. Have a PID-block in gx works 2 (not in a simple project sadly) i would like to import  and use in gx developer. This is causing me some trouble though.  Can anyone tell me how to get the PID-blocks from GX Works 2 to GX Developer? Do you recommend me to upgrade the project to GX Works 2 instead? How will the panel react? I need to reprogram this as well. Cheers // Rolf

  8. Start Ladder Logic Test

Hi, there! I had got GX-Developer Ver.8, which is very different from the plc programs that I have learned before. I have read many tutorials and watch it but I still don't know how to start ladder logic test. Many other people simply click on 'start or end ladder logic test' but mine was greyed. Anyone has solution? Or I just missed a couple steps of simulation? Though it is very basic problem, I will put a deep gratitude for your reply.
  9. Highlighted line in GX Developer

Working in GX Developer Version 8.107M, some of the code that I have been working with seems to be hidden.  It appears that the lines turn highlighter yellow, keeping me from viewing code.  I've looked into this and cannot find a solution.  Does anyone know how to expand the code? Thank you.
  10. GX Developer FX in Education

Hi - We are currently running GX Developer FX at our College in the UK. We use this in the classroom to teach our students how to programme for PLC devices. We now need to upgrade to a newer version that is compatible with Windows 10 - we are currently using version 8.03. My questions are: Can this be downloaded for free to use in education? Is there a contact within Mitsubishi that anyone can share that I can contact to chase this down? Any feedback on this will be greatly apprciated. Thanks Scott
  11. Convert int to float

I'm trying to read a result from encoder (which in pulse) and convert it to milimeter. To do that, i need to devide it. But here is the problem when i move the result of the encoder read to register (D) then devide it with another register, it doesn't show result in the monitor. It looks like i need to convert it to float first, but i dont know how. My command for the division is DEDIV D17 D40 D22. is there anyway to solve it? Thanks, i really need this. I try to look in the forum but i dont found it. I'm using mitsubishi FX3U-48 MT ESS. I'm new in this forum, if i break a rule, please tell me.

  14. GX Developer timer command

Hello everyone! Could someone help me and tell me what the "D212" means? I know that to define the time of a TIMER you must put a k and number (miliseg).   Help.... :(
  15. GX Developer commands

Hello everyone! Could someone help me and explain me this block of a ladder diagram I'm working with? I do understand the M800 is always ON contact, for the PLC to not lose the values.  Also I know that the DIV is a division, the FLT is a integer to floating point (thing I don't understand), the DEMUL is a floating point multiplication (thing I also don't understand), the INT is a floating point to 16-bit integer, and the MOV is for moving a value from a data register to an other data register. Help... :(
  16. GX Developer Special Relays

HELLO TO EVERONE!!Could someone please help me find a special relay command (not a real relay) that stays activated when it receives a pulse from a NO contact (X0), and desactivies when it receives a second pulse from the same NO contact (X0)? So en conclusion I need to control a relay with only button.I hope you understand me... Help please....

  18. line true M bit coil not ON

Hello system is Q06UDEH GX developer 8116W Large system 2 PLcs with 60K lines of code between them, SFC ladder,  Issue,      all conditions HIGH, coil not ON or  visa versa  (not all condition ON but coil high) also happen with data comparisons, moves etc. what i have looked at so far,    -batch monitor confirms HIGH/LOW states - programs all scanned (all 35 of them) -no MC control ( some CJ and for NEXT seems unrelated) -force history is clear - not willing to rest CPU as this is a large press and it is running   -widespread condition throughout the code  - only monitor one window at a time Q - is there some monitor setting that I haven't found? over lapping registers Have gone online with original backup just to make sure something didn't happen with the read. No way i'm doing an edit when I cant tell whats going on with this. thanks!
  19. How can I do a hardware 'factory reset' on a Q UDE CPU .... NOT using any software such as GX Developer or Works? I understand in the 'Write to PLC' menu it's possbile to Clear / Format / Arrange PLC memory - this isn't what I'm asking for. Under normal circumstances we routinely reload the PLC code / parameters / intelligent function data all remotely from our offices to our customers facilities and all works well. With the newer Q UDE CPUs it is possible to scan the network and effectively do a remote bare-metal recover to a new CPU. If the Q UDE CPU became unresponsive I would like to know how to reset the CPU back to factory defaults. In this scenario we would be asking local site electricians to carry out this reset procedure - after which we would reload the code remotely from the office. Documentation says power down CPU remove BAT for > 10 mins. I’ve powered down, left in STOP state and removed BAT for 16hours - then tested this morning – IP / program perfect and online immediately without battery connected. This retention is a wonderful feature – but if I want to deliberately do a hardware factory reset how do I do it ?
  20. Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. I am tasked to make a couple of module specific function blocks for communication between our Mitsubishi PLC (GX IEC Developer 7.04) and a B&R remote IO over Profibus. A number of these blocks would then be used, depending on the RIO setup. Reading should be straight forward, just read X amount of words, starting from address Y. Writing is trickier as Mitsubishi prefers 16/32 bit Data whereas B&R batches Data in bytes! As I have several output modules in the RIO. I need to send my info "chained" together. Example: Module 1: 2 Bytes Module 2: 3 Bytes Module 3: 2 Bytes Totals: 7 bytes or 4 words. Sending the first word is no problem. Neither is the next two words (I will just have 1 empty byte at the end of the third word). But then the info to the third module should start in the middle of the third word. Any idea how I could solve this? Experimental: At the moment the blocks have inputs (bits), which are stored to a bit-array inside the block and then linked to an output. My idea at the moment is to merge all module-wise output bit arrays to one big bit array, converting that to INT and sending it off to the Profibus address. But I have not yet found a way to merge the arrays and shift them so all data is where it should be. Above example: ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..23] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL Totals: ARRAY [0..63] OF BOOL or [0..71] counting the spare byte. Converted to 8 Words and forwarded through Profibus. Thank you in advance.
  21. Hello everybody, As many of you can see, I took a course onto development the user libraries, that able to simplify extremely a PLC programming process, to help programmers to increase a productivity of their labor, to reduce a program code and quantity of used system variables, to improve readability of programs. A part of libraries has been already developed and looks fine. Also I full with new ideas, plans and could design new and new that then to share these libraries with other programmers. The work is bringing me a pleasure, however, at current situation I can not allow for me to share the libraries for free. I can explain why. First of all, it takes my time, which is money, and I should feed my family, also the work eats a health, which is not infinitive. The second, those who can get it for free, will not appreciate the labor and will distribute it to the left and to the right. The third, ME has not an interest to my offer, to the products and doesn't want to help to make it available for all. What I'd like to propose to you: If you have an interest, I can offer to open a subscription to the ready and new libraries, which will be developed further. What I can promise and guarantee: I will collect wishes and requirements of subscribers and all can vote, what should be realized at first. The subscribers will can get a release with up to four small libraries or one big (for example, such like Modbus Master/Slave library) every month, that will fit to the requirements and the collective choice. What's a payment for the subscription? I suppose a fee in 100 USD per annum will not be predatory for a subscriber's pocket. The fee will cover costs in case, if the number of subscribers will exceed 70 people. Thanks to all for the attention and I'd like to offer to discuss the proposal in this topic.
  22. ON/OFF Timer for Mitsubishi FX

FB_TIMER_ON_OFF The FB is a part of RTC library and implements a timer, based on RTC, for ON and OFF a control bit, e.g. to turn ON/OFF a load in the time interval, and can be easily added into your program in desired quantity. The FB is supplied with E (Enable) input, EO (Output to Control Bit), and can operate in one of two modes: HMS = Hours + Minutes + Seconds (daily timer) MDH = Month + Date + Hours (yearly timer) Each setpoint of ON and OFF time settings should be represented as Array of INT [0...2] type and contain a time data according to the chosen mode. Thus, for example: - in HMS mode: a control bit can be turned on at 02:03:14 am and then turned off at 06:04:17 pm, or turned on at 05:12:27 pm and turned off at 07:06:22 am; - in MDH mode: a control bit can be turned on 3th February at 02:00 pm and then turned off 4th June at 05:00 pm, or turned on 12th November at 03:00 pm and turned off 6th March at 10:00 pm. If the values of both time settings are the same, the FB output will not be activated. Supporting PLC CPUs: All FX Program memory: - 34 steps per each FB instance - 4 steps for entire project (reading from RTC) System variables: M - 3 bits (for entire project) The library is compatible with GX IEC Developer and GX Works2 software . https://plus.google.com/105445006108716761629/posts/Z4v4F11s4Bz
  23. Hi guys, I have a problem with GX IEC Developer 7.04, i hope some of you can help me. When i try to connect with the PLC type - Melsec FX1s- 30MR-DC, there is an error: I check all COM port settings, and everything is ok. Com_port parameters: FX Parameters: Transfer setup: PLC Type in the program is the same like physical one (FX1s). I try to change all of this stuffs but there is no result. The cable I use for comunnication is this type: Thank you very much in advance. Have a nice day! eng R. Bukov
