  1. Please could you assist with the software required to download data tables from 4 off DIRIS A10 Multifunction Meters into TM221CE40R Logic Controller via TMC2SL1 Comms Cartridge using Modbus Protocol over RS485. I have downloaded the Modbus tables from Socomec but not sure how to get these into the PLC. I would really appreciate your help in achieving this. I am using EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic to program the PLC & DAQ Factory Developer Release for my Touchscreen. Link to Socomec Modbus tables: https://www.socomec.com/files/live/sites/systemsite/files/SCP/6_gestion_energie/diris/diris_a10/DIRIS-A-10_COMMUNICATION-TABLE_2018-01_DCG01013_MULTI.html#General
  2. Control Panel

Is it possible to view the values / states of all inputs, outputs and workbits (e.g. 64.00 through 64.15 on Omron CQM1 PLC) on a single screen or control panel within CX-Programmer software?  I'm trying to troubleshoot some ladder logic that I wrote and need to know the values of 5 or 6 inputs/outputs/workbits simultaneously.  Having to scroll up and down through my ladder logic repeatedly does not work well with code that changes state every 5-10 seconds or so. Any help is welcome.
  3. Sample blocks for S7 1200 plc's

Hi experts, please share the sample blocks for the EDITABLE TIMER block it should be editable from HMI(Siemens). And also motor run hour block. Actually i am having all blocks in tia v12 version and sadly i dont have the old software to convert it again. So please share the blocks that it shoud be work in TIA V14 for s7 1200 plc's. Please note that the blocks should use add instructions to calculate the time because i don't have much memory.
  4. Q03UDVCPU

I am new with PLC's and I am learning how to work with GX Works 2. I have two questions, 1st Question: Using a Q series PLC (Q03UDVCPU) Is it possible to convert the language of a project from ladder logic to structured text? 2nd Question: If I read a project from a PLC why is it always ladder logic? Is there any way to read out structured text?
  5. I can debug my plc app with simulator. I created some function block, and inside functionblock I can inspect in and out parameters, as well as local variables. But in/out parameters values are not shown. Any solution? Im using Sysmac Studio 1.29.2 and selected a NX PLC in my project.
  6. Hi I'm looking for Ladder Logic code that I could use for a plastic injection molding machine.  I am willing to purchase and/or modify existing code to meet our specifications.  We have lost the Ladder Logic out of the TI/Siemens Controller on our Newbury 100 Plastic Machine so we're looking at replacing both the PLC and the HMI interface with an Automation Direct Controller.  We have the HMI Basic Code for the Newbury but not the ladder.  I've pasted the manual below for our machine.  Any assistance would be much appreicated.  The manual was too large for me to post but I've posted a document with information about how we intend to upgrade which has a little information about the machine also. 8. Hey there, I have an "Italian safe CNG dispenser pm head". I googled about it and found that It is a plc board. So I searched how to program it. Then found it use ladder programming language. Now there are no tutorial or documentation about its programming. But I want to repair my damaged plc board. If I goto any technician they will charge a huge amount of money. So I thought I will repair it by my self. So need help about the software name its use and how can I program it.  If any of you guys know about it please provide me your precious knowledge. Use this printerest link for see my pm head(plc board) https://i.pinimg.com/564x/0e/d6/6c/0ed66cb9a1065ab10a07e0b9aadc6f0d.jpg   Thank you (TIA) Masud karim
  9. Function Block addressing

Hello all.  I have a program which has 8 function blocks. I recently added extra functionality to one of the programs (not the function blocks). I added the new variables to the global symbols table and added the new code, but when I compiled the new code, the variable addresses in three of the function blocks had changed. This is a problem, because we use memory cassettes to download new versions of code, so when the new version is downloaded to a machine in some far flung part of the world, these variables will be overwritten (they are hours run variable, so are important for servicing purposes).   My understanding is that CX assign's variable addresses in Function Blocks and we have no control over this. Bit if I only added variables to the Global symbol table, why are the FB addresses affected??   Any input appreciated.
  10. CCLINK program problem

Hello everyone, I want to ask,, Does address mapping use this concept to do "remote i / o station" can be done? following the network parameter settings for CCLink and I tried to program with this ladder, is that correct?
  11. Pointer Device memory

To those who don't know the GX Works2 compiler treats any function block referenced used in your code as a place to copy the entire set of code data into your program. Function block calls are not handled like pointers even though the should be. [You'll consume all your pointer space by thinking function blocks are great.]
  12. Hey, I recently started trying my hand at creating function blocks. At the moment I'm trying to create a PID function block, however I keep getting this error: "ERROR: Variable does not have enough size." No idea why it does this. Can anyone help?
  13. Hello! I have a project where I need to use Allen Bradley PLC, it might be one of CompactLogic series. In scope of the project I need to transfer few real values to DirectLogic PLC that installed on customer side. DirectLogic PLC has installed ethernet card that support Modbus TCP, TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols as it says on automationdirect website. I start looking for Allen Bradley PLC that support Modbus TCP or TCP/UDP protocol and did find clear information. Could you help me to find out a way how I can pass the data to directlogic PLC from CompactLogic?   Thank you in advance!   Regards, Scotty
  14. Internal function block variables

I have a function block where the first internal variable is showing as address H1420 in the Global Symbol table. When I add another retained variable to the function block then save and compile the code, the variable address in the global symbol table shifts from H1420 to H1488.  I need to retain the address as I will be downloading code and I need to ensure the address if H1420 stays with that variable.    Can anyone help with this?
  15. GX Work2 Comments in Arrays

I am very new to the Mitsubishi PLC world (I have a lot of experience with A/B and Omron though).  I am having an issue trying to assign comments to an array of Globally scoped bits - I am also using Structured Ladder - NOT simple ladder.  Is it possible to do this?  I have contacted there tech support group and they were of little help.  I don't care if I update the label comment or the device comment, I just want to assign a simple comment that can be displayed (i.e. I am using this for step sequences).   Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  16. Omron Function Block variables

Hello all.  I posted earlier in the week regarding downloading new code to an Omron PLC, but I think the question was a bit vague. As a follow up, and hopefully to clarify, I have the following query. I have created an upgraded program which will be downloaded by field techs using memory cassettes. The revised area of code is essentially a Function Block which amends service lamp behaviour, and in creating it, I have amended the existing function block and added new Internal variables. Is there any way I can ensure that the new variables don''t over write or move the existing  variables in the PLC, because this is what is happening when I download it.    HELP!!!!!!!!!
  17. hello.   I've been trying to communicate this omron plc CP1L-EM30DT1-D, with a yaskawa inverter cimr-vu4a0004faa. but i can't figure out how to make de correct mov or configuration in de DM. i need to run/stop, change frequency.    some help, please. :) 485PRUEBA.cxp 485PRUEBA.opt
  18. ladder program

Hello everyone, I want to know why the Y172 coil is ON / logic 1? whereas contact SM1 is worth OFF / logic 0? can anyone explain it to me ?
  19. Hi everybody! I am an experienced electrical/electronics technician with 6 years of maintenance experience, and my boss at the factory recently suggested that I should start learning PLCs so I can take over the automation maintenance all by my own team. I have a lot of time to prepare for this position. What is the optimal way to start? We are working with OMRON equipment. I found some courses that look interesting, so my training plan is: 1 finish the free courses - the ones from Omron Learning website - the one from LinkedIn learning "Learning PLC Ladder Logic Course by: Zahraa Khalil" 2 finish the payed courses on UDEMY - Learn 5 PLCs in a Day-AB, Siemens, Schneider, Omron & Delta - PLC Programming From Scratch (PLC I) -  Practical PLC Programming (PLC II) -  Process Visualization with HMI / SCADA (PLC III) -  Advanced Programming Paradigms (PLC IV) - From Wire to PLC , A Bootcamp In Industrial Automation -  Factory Automation using PLC Logics   That being said, can you suggest me more courses / textbooks / training programs? BTW your forum has been a good source of information for the last few days that I have took to research the topic, so I want to thank you all for providing all of this information. God bless you all!
  20. Bits on Contactor

I use ladder logic in its most simple form. In ladder logic on the left, I have contacts(ANDs and ORs configuration). They are either switches, logic results of functions or switches, or canned strobing On the right, I have all types of functions, timers, keeps, counters, etc. As a simple example, I have a canned 1 second strobe feeding a counter. I can use the counter as a contact to close when it reaches zero. Does all of the" business" have to happen on the right? For example, the left side of the IF/(contact) statement can I put something like a bit comparison on the left? Something like... Counter, Bit# Or do I have to use a bit comparison on the right and its binary result as a contact and put it on the left?     Thanks
  21. I've got a 300 with Motionview that I'm going to run using the IOD connector with discrete signals.  First time to touch one of these.  I see the pin 29 is enable/inhibit.  I've tried +24VDC, 0v, and nothing and the drive will never 'enable'.  What am I missing?  I've got the the STO where the safety1 & 2 inputs are tied to +24VDC and the commons shorted together.  I tried unshorting the commons.  I tried removing the connector altogether.  I've read the manual, there nothing mentioning 'enabling' other than that pin 29 being high, which obviously doesn't work for me.  Any help?
  22. How to watch the value in decimal directly in the ladder page ?  Default Hexadecimal The only way I can do it is in Watch Tab and I/O map per example Thank you
  23. I am new to PlC programming . Plz can anyone guide me for ladder programming for FX5U -4LC Temperature controller with autotune parameters . Plus i want to use a PT-100 for the same . Plz help me out.
  24. Hello all. I have been working with an SLC 5/04 system, which houses various Digital and Analog INs and OUTs, up to Slot 29. I am currently mainly working with Slot 25, an Analog Input: 1746-NI16I. This is a system which has already been set up and has been running for the best part of 8-10 years. This particular card has had some spare inputs, one of which I am trying to connect to. In the Advanced Configuration, only a few Channels are actually "Enabled", and each channel is pretty much slightly different from another in terms of Input Type, Filter Frequency and Data Format. I am trying to set up Input 14, which is Channel 15, to "Enable" it, 4-20mA Input Type, Filter Frequency of 6 Hz and Data Format of either Raw/Proportional or Engineering Units. Now, after I have made my choices, I click apply, and then OK. I am then confronted by a pop-up which states: "Configuration Rung and Data Integer Data File Number: 25 Integer Data Element: 100 Rung to be inserted: XIC S2:1/15 COP #N25:100 #O0:25.0 24 At Program File Number: 4 82" I have the options of OK or Cancel. If I click OK, I now have LAD 4, Rung 82 Highlighted. This First Scan Bit and COP function were already here, but does that mean I have now altered what is being written to "#O:25.0"? I now Download the Changes. However, after all this, I am not getting any Analog input reading coming in from the Live PLC. What is this COP function? What does it do? How do I properly set up this Analog Card?   Thanks for your time, -Jame
