  1. Problem: I am getting a control sync fault on 2 recently installed kinetix 5500 but only when my programing PC is connected to the machine network.  Install and setup all went great over a 5 day period.  Then all of a sudden I started to get this fault. Sometimes 100 times in an hour.  As soon as I go offline, and unplug my PC the problem goes away.  I have also tried another PC connected to the Machine network and still get the same result.  Sometimes machine can run for hours with my PC connected with no problem.  I do not have to be online with controller for fault to occur. Setup: I have the 2 K5500's ethernet ports daisy chained together, and then connected via shielded CAT 6 cable directly to port 2 of the Compact Logix Controller Coarse Update is set to 3.5ms and utilization's are at 33% and below.(I have tried the default 2ms with same results) Ethernet modules are configured with FW rev 7.013. Machine network is isolated.(not connected to plant network or internet) Equipment: Compact logix L33ERM Running version 30.01. There are a total of four servos in this system all running over ethernet.  2 Kinetix 350's(not affected), and 2 kinetix 5500's. I have tried: separate ethernet cables for each drive ran through a switch different ethernet cables resetting coarse update speed connecting a different PC for programming   I am just not sure where else to go with this.  Thanks in advance for any help.
  2. We are getting a processor watchdog fault on a kinetix 5500 but I cant seem to find any information on the cause of this particular issue.  Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks guys
  3. Hi there! I've been looking for some fault codes table for the 1734-AENTR adapters, since I'd like to show a message in HMI with some information when there is a faulty adapter, but I haven't found anything on the internet. So my question is, is there any type of table like this for these adapters? Right now I have a PLC with some AENTR adapters in the program for testing, and since there is actually no adapter connected to it, I can see a 16#2024 error in the module properties, but can't seem to find that info in the module variables.   Do you guys have any clue on how to find this information in order to show it?   Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello Experts Fault LED is blinking in Red in Allen Bradley Micro Logix 1400 PLC Can someone please advice on how to fix this & probable reasons ? Can trial version of communicating software be downloaded?
  5. 1769-IT6

Hi all. I have a 1769-IT6 thermocouple/mv input module. It is connected to a micrologix 1500 unit. The green okay light illuminates on power up, but after you download the program and put it in run mode the processor faults. Terminal block with the cjc's are on the unit. The error message just says the I/O module has encountered an error. The hex code under status bit 6 is 179h. This error code is not in the manual. Has anyone else encountered this? Oh and I only have channel 0 enabled for type k thermocouple. Has anyone else had this issue, or know if it is a configuration issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  6. Error PLC S7-300

Hi all, My system is using PLC S7-300. Now, it is being SF fault. I followed the manufacturer's sf error instructions. I replaced the CPU Module, but it is still fault. Diagnostic of Simatic announced I/O can't access for reading and writing. Please give a solution, thanks Sincerely.

  8. Unconverted Ladder Code?

Hi All, Please see attached screenshot: Whenever I want to save the ladder program or start simulation, this window pops-up. If I press 'yes' I loose the whole work. I tried to open existing program and modify it, but it did the same. When I clicked 'yes' I lost all modification and just the original program remained. (I made the program in the morning, opened and saved many times but it started popping this window later.) I work with FXCPU series, FX3U/FX3UC type, simple project in ladder. This worked well but now is not anymore. I use Melsoft GX Simulator! Can anyone advise why this is happening? It is very annoying! It is pointless to work on anything now! Many thanks
  9. I have an analog output card 1734-OE2V. As a default, there is selected fault mode as 'Go to Low Clamp'. I am using output range -10V to 10V. What is the value for Low Clamp. Is it 0V or -10V? If I want it to be 0, do I need to select 'use fault value' and set the fault value to '0'.
  10. Question from a PLC newbie....  We had a "blip" during a thunderstorm where we saw multiple signals on a 1734-IB8S point I/O transition from true to false for ~ 4 seconds (based on our DCS history from a serial connection).  There are several other modules on the backplane, and we only saw state change on this one card.  The 24VDC power is sourced from T-0 for points 0-3, and T-2 for points 4-7, so we don't suspect a short.  It's been suggested that we either had an I/O card "blip", or temporary loss of power to our field contacts (limit switches) caused by dust/vibration of the removeable terminal block.  Our controller is a 1756-L73S GuardLogix 5570.  My question is should I expect to see an I/O fault in the Minor Fault history (we did not)?  Would an I/O fault necessarily show up in this history, or does it need to be configured somewhere? Our points on this card are set up as single points with test pulse from T-0 and T-2.  We are reading status of limit switches in the field. Thank you in advance for any response. Kathy
  11. I had axis fault, which stopped the PF527. Only way to go on was to switch power off and on again. Checking the faults&alarms, I find out that the reason was Bus Undervoltage user limit. This made 'Immediate Stop' for the PF527. Looking at the parameters, I can not find any parameter for this. In the manual it is said 'DC Bus voltage level is below user defined limit given by Bus Undervoltage User Limit, or device defined limit if the user limit attribute is not supported.' What does it mean?  Is there parameter for this limit? Checking the AXIS_CIP_DRIVE tag parameters, DCBusVoltage is not showing anything, why is that? => Reason found, not marked in 'Axis properties' Cyclic Parameters page
  12. Hi, I have problem with 5069-obv8s, trying to use it for a first time just to power relays and contactors. All outputs are in internal fault, even if their are not conected. The card is set to use single output as safety outputs. Additional power on LA+ and LA- ports is connected. I don't know what else should I checked to fix this problem. There is no problem in controler or this specific module just on all of outputs. Hope someone will be able to help.
  13. Is there a way to clear a CPU fault on power up without having to connect to software?
  14. Hello My emulator go to fault state as soon as it goes online and runs (Within a second) and the following error  Code 01, (May have been caused by an infinite loop, a complex program, or a higher priority task.) The same logic runs perfectly fine on a colleague's laptop  I'm using  RS Logix 5000 V30.00  Emulator V30.00.01 Running on Virtual Machine, Windows 7 Host system specs are:  8 GB RAM  Core i5 CPU @ 1.80GHz Socket 1 Cores 2 Logical Processor 4 Windows 10 Virtual Machine's specs:  4 GB RAM  Number of Processors: 2 Number of Cores per Processor: 2 Kindly suggest a suitable solution, what is the possible cause of this fault.    Thank You
  15. I have a compact logix with a major fault. Please see my attached file for the complete fault message.  Code 20 array subscript too large. or control data type to large or invalid. Has anyone observed this issue before.  The PLC is a compact logix model.  Every time, the controller is switched from program to run the major fault occurs within 5 seconds.  The fault can be cleared but then it comes back in a few seconds.  I have been told by my tech that no program changes have been made.  Could there be a hardware/wiring issue? Thanks much Document_1234.pdf
  16. Hello, Have this error come up constantly and can't be reset. Motor hasn't tried to drive at all. Second motor showing same problem. This is a new configuration on new machine. Other inverters configured without any problems. Anyone seen this before or any ideas what could be the issue.
  17. Hello Guys, i have an issue with my powerFlex40; it's getting the F081 sometimes after a start. I have 4 pf40 and they are almost configured the same way and this working like this for years. the 4 pf are wired in the same way that when an emergency stop is pushed they are all powered off(400V); after acknowledging the e-stop they all start normally but that one brings sometimes(not always) the F081: Comm Loss. I can even not reproduce the issue because it is not happening every time.  Any Ideas what it could be? the network cable of the pf goes to a switch (all the 4 pf are connected on that switch) and from the switch to a 1794-AENT Ethernet adapter.
  18. PLC occasionally going out of Run mode?

Has anyone had an issue with Siemens plc's occasionally going out of run mode? I was doing some research and found that it could be due to a bad analog input. Is there a way to tell which input or output is causing this fault? I know I can create a hardware diagnostics error organization block but that only correct from what I've read.     Edit: I've added a screen shot of the diagnostics report. The fault that may be the problem is: Temporary CPU error: Serious firmware exception  CPU changes to DEFECTIVE mode (system reaction)  This plc / system was installed 2 year ago and we've had this problem occasionally since. I'm guessing the wrong firmware was used during the install. Will try upgrading firmware this weekend.
  19. Hey, I have a 1763 L16BBB...when I plug the 1762IF20F2 analog card in, I get a 0189h error code. Any help would be appreciated. Currently looking at doing a bootp on the plc to get online...no ip
  20. Hi All, I have an AB servo TLY-A110T and 2097-V31PR0-LM Kinetix 350 drive. I thought that it was fully configured and ready for tuning, but when I issue a MSO it immediately starts to spin the shaft (no load yet). This lasts about a second until a Physical Axis Fault, Excessive Velocity Error occurs. I've double and triple checked the feedback and power wiring, and everything looks right. Is there anything else I can check? What can I do to trouble shoot this if I can't even give an MSO? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  21. faulted processor

Hi I'm a bit new to Siemens, we;re an Allen Bradley plant...until now. we just got a brand new used press and it has a seimens controller on it. The press doesn't seem to have any manual functions so I as asked to move the cylinder, but I can't until I clear this fault. it won't do anything.  I'm told I'm working with an older processor, s7 300?I don't really know seimens that well.  I saved the diagnostics buffer as a text file and pasted it below. in case that helps solve my problem. I'm thinking it's just having trouble communicating with remote IO, but I'm not sure. I might be trying to communicate to a robot that used to be there that no longer is.  Diagnostic buffer of module CPU 314C-2 DP Order No./ Description            Component                         Version                        6ES7 314-6CH04-0AB0               Hardware                          5                              - - -                             Firmware                          V 3.3.11                       Boot Loader                       Firmware expansion                A 37.12.12                     Rack:                             0 Slot:                             2 Serial number: S Q-EDU050142014 Event 1 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2522 Area length error when reading Global DB, word access, Access address:    262 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class:  1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:36:07.052 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2522  0179  0024  0106  0000  0000) Event 2 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2522 Area length error when reading Global DB, word access, Access address:    260 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class:  1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:36:07.052 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2522  0179  0024  0104  0000  0000) Event 3 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     40 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.052 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0028  0000  0000) Event 4 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     36 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.052 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0024  0000  0000) Event 5 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     38 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.051 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0026  0000  0000) Event 6 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2522 Area length error when reading Global DB, word access, Access address:    262 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class:  1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:36:07.051 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2522  0179  0024  0106  0000  0000) Event 7 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2522 Area length error when reading Global DB, word access, Access address:    260 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class:  1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:36:07.050 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2522  0179  0024  0104  0000  0000) Event 8 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     40 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.050 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0028  0000  0000) Event 9 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     36 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.050 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0024  0000  0000) Event 10 of 10:  Event ID 16# 2943 I/O access error, writing P area, word access, Access address:     38 Requested OB: I/O access error OB (OB122) Priority class:  1 External error, Incoming event 10:36:07.050 AM  04/17/2019 (Coding: 16# 2943  017A  0020  0026  0000  0000)
  22. Hi, Can someone provide information about function and interpretation of each flashing or steady LEDs on MLC 1200. For example where to look for when Fault LED flashes during normal operation and so on. Thanks in anticipation that someone will help. Regards
  23. Trying to figure out a fix to a processor issue, I have 2 1785-L40E processors a series E and F. Both when inserted into the rack and powered up go straight to a solid red BATT and PROC light as well as a Solid amber Force light, they both wont even attempt to start a boot up sequence. When connected through DH+ and ENET there is no visibility to either of these processors. These are refurbished processors.
