  1. Hi all, I am working on a safety PLC conversion project, for which I need to identify the input word address configured on a PSS AI IP card. The manual from the official website shows the address configuration via a DOS tool. I do have PSS SW PG WIN 4.9, but the project file has been created with PSS WinPro 2.3. Within this software there is only the option to configure how the input channel behaves, not which input word is used (see attached screen grab). Anyone with a distant memory if the addresses can be set with PSS WinPro?
  2. How to count to 120000

I’m using a Omron CJ plc. I have a press that I need to count the shots up to 120000. I know that the. CNTRX is limited. So does anyone have an example of how to set this up?
  3. Hi, About SmartSlice: „Smart Analog I/O performs data pre-processing to help you reduce PLC programming. Scaling and alarms, and even totalising or rate-of-change calculations are handled inside the unit.” How to get to this honey in case of GRT1-ECT bus coupler and NJ101 EtherCAT communication? What means “Configuration Tool” in W18E-EN-02 “GRT1-series EtherCAT Communication Unit Operation Manual”?
  4. Hi everyone, I have a question for you all, Is possible to configure CJ2M-CPU11 with tags trough network configurator to connect Control Logix PLC using EthernetIP? I did a configuration with CJ2M-CPU31 and Control Logix PLC with no problem, but now I need to communicate CJ2M-CPU11 with Control Logix PLC using EthernetIP. Some of you did this configuration between this two PLC before? Regards!
  5. RJ71EIP91 Configuration mismatch

I have several machines that use the RJ71EIP91 module. I have not had any issues until now. I do not have the original apa file. I upload the configuration and try to restore it from the configuration.apa file, it does not show everything that is connected to the card or programmed in the PLC. when I verify this it says that the configuration is a mismatch. I have several of these scattered throughout the factory and I don't have this problem anywhere else. Is there a solution to this problem?
  6. Hi All, I just start to setup a rotary servo (rotary transmission load type) and the designer pass me the spec of gear ratio 1:100. In my motion scaling page, I set Transmission I:O as 1:100  and then scaling unit is just position unit with 1:1. However, when i jog my rotary servo, it does not reflect the actual position in degree, so I went to read through the manual but still cant quite get how should i configure my scaling so that I can see that when the motor is rotating, i can see it rotate how many degrees? I try to set scaling 360 degree to 1.0 load rev, and the position feedback seems like much more finer....
  7. VHSC5/C

Hey all. Wondering if anyone has an example program they'd be willing to share? Specifically I'm using the 1734-VHSC5/C with a 1769-L18ER-BB1B PLC. All of Rockwell's wonderful information only refers to SLC-500 platform. I'm not trying to do anything terribly fancy, just have a quadrature encoder attached to Channels A & B, then using an output to turn on a valve at 8.0" and turn off at 10.0" Any help would be appreciated.
  8. hi all, i am tring to program my fx1n on to a bag machine where there is a sensor which checks if the bag length is correct by stopping at the appropriate print also we have given a +5 or -5 to check if the print has moved and if moved to cut the bag from where the signal comes. when the colour sensor is off the plc moves the servo motor the the measure we have given and cuts no problem there but as soon as i give it to check the signal from the colour sensor the plc shows different length when i monitor and also it moves past the print and only stops. it seems its not stopping at the interuption. the colour eye is working we checked. if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated. if you can give a small ladder program which works would be even better :)
  9. Hi, I have found this forum extremely helpful in the past.  I greatly appreciate in advance any help/direction. I am having trouble simply placing/invoking a PRV instruction in CX-Programmer.  The program seems to not recognize really any of the High Speed Counter instructions.  (working with a CT021.  I/O table correct, CJ2H CPU67 PLC rack powered on with all green lights.) Please see attached screenshots for what I mean... the PRV, PRV2, CTBL, SPED, etc instructions just show up red (like they are not understood/recognized PLC instructions/functions) when I try to place in the ladder.  There must be something simple that I am not considering.  Thanks again for any help. Michael
  10. Is there a way to run a compact logix program, while ignoring the the I/O configuration?   I used to do this with other PLC's to help develop the HMI screens while connected to development PLC that does not have the full complement of cards that the end user PLC will have.  Just lets me test logic that supports the HMI while working at home.   I used to do this on other PLC's with just a CPU on my desk.   Possible?
  11. Using HOURM as Retentive Counter

Hello Guys,  is someone using HOURM as a Retentive Counter ? I Tried it but i have no success. like this one: HOURM( Betriebsstundenzaehler_ein , 700, Betriebsstundenzaehler , Platzhalter1 ); I'm using FX5U. Our old Programm was written in Ladder.

Hi every one, One of my machine i have to fix , has simatic pc unit installed that causing too much trouble  and client want to replace it with simple pc with additional profibus card installed in PCI slot, is there any way to configure image of simatic pc in new simple pc
  13. Hi, I've got a very old version of Wonderware, version 9.5, which isn't going to be upgraded anytime soon. I would like to configure a button to perform 2 tasks under "Touch Pushbuttons", ideally "Action" and "Show Window". I am unable to enable both at the same time, so I've been trying to write a script that would perform both functions, but so far unsuccessfully. Is this something that can be done, or is there another way to get around this problem? I would like the button to toggle a bit and to open another window with more controls.   thanks
  14. Hello Everyone, I am struggling with interfacing Incremental encoder with FX5U PLC, Does anyone have parameter setting and sample program for same. i am unable to fetch counts...   Encoder: 500ppr, 24V line drive, A-B phase,  PFA datasheet
  15. FX5U high speed counter

Hi All Does anyone know if it's possible to simulate the HSC function using just the software? I'm using the Hioen command but I want to try and simulate it if possible. Thanks in advance Scott
  16. Hello! Anyone have tips for getting a precise count in seconds for the «on time» of a input? water pump deliveres 20 l/min and input is feedback that its running. ive been trying with %s4-6 and input in serial but not getting it precise Somachine basic
  17. I need help configuring high speed input in my project. As high speed input I am using proximity switch and I connected it to Digital Input 0 of CT021 (Pin 5 on image) So how can I know what is adress of my DI0 from that module? How can I know when DI0 goes on? This is my main problem because I don't know the adress of that digital input.  If I knew the adress I would than easily link it to some counter and see if it is counting
  18. Hello,  I want to compare pulsed coming from flow meter with a constant value. And make a bit to high level when my set pulses are equal to present value in counter. I am using 1734 Vhsc24 module for this. If any body have sample program kindly attach it.
  19. Hello guys, I am running an application for packaging measurement using a sick DFS60B incremental encoder (programmable from 1 to 10000 PPR). In more detail, it passes packaging on a conveyor belt and we have created an inspection station and an expulsion station (defective packaging), so we use the encoder to check at specific points of the packaging for defects (we use special sensors to check defects). ) (there are four in total). However, the problem we are having is the following: When reading the encoder in the PLC, the same means that performs "jumps" and does not enter the windows (GRT and LES) created on the ladder, ie, as if it were not continuous. . I understand that because the VHSC24 card works at 1 MHz in counter mode, this type of problem should not occur according to our application is not even 100 KHz. For example, our case: Using 1000 PPR and the motor speed (coupling output) is 3600 RPM (in practice it is around 1750 RPM) the frequency is calculated as follows: F = (PPR X RPM) / 60. : F = (1000x3600) / 60 = 60 KHz, ie 60 KHz is much less than 1 MHz, I think this kind of problem does not occur. Application Info: . Studio 5000 V31 . PLC Model: Rockwell 1769 - L19ER-BB1B CompactLogix 5370 . Encoder Card: 1734-VHSC24 / C . Incremental Encoder: Sick, DFS60 up to 10,000 PPR and HTL Electrical Interface. Using a 200 mm circumference / perimeter wheel. . Motor Nameplate Data: 1670 RPM, 0.37 kW / 0.5 HP, 60 Hz . Inverter: Weg CFW500, Output Frequency 62 Hz. Card Settings we use RPI: 2 ms Type: Counter, but we already use it as Encoder X1 Store Count Mode: Disabled Filter: No Filter, but we use 50 KHz and 5 Khz filters in our tests. Counter Attenuator: 1 Wiring Diagram VHSC24 We turn on encoder A at input 0 and encoder Aret at input 1 In logic (Structured Text) Using the PMUL instruction to convert encoder (Pulse) data to mm scale. (Ladder) The window comparisons part (GRT and Les) and other part of the process. We emphasize that we performed the tests also only with the reading and comparison part of the data, excluding the other parts, precisely to verify the issue of Scan, but the problem persisted. If anyone here in the forum has some information that can help us, I would appreciate it.
  20. Hello! I have a problem with Allen-Bradley High Speed Counter card 1734-VHSC24/C. I need to make changes to the configuration parameter .OnValue1 (DINT) during the system is running. Now, for changing the parameter value, I need to switch off the module and this can not be done during the line is running. I think that maybe this can be done using the explicit messaging. I could not find information for this from internet, so now I ask you to help me with this item. If anyone have experience or knowledge of this, please help me. I do no have experience using explicit messaging. My configuration: Studio 5000 Logix Designer V24.00, 1756-L71S V24.11, Ethernet/IP, 1734AENTR, 1734-VHSC24/C countermodule.
  21. Hello All,  Am a bit new to practical PLC applications. I was trying to configure a Phoenix Contact I/O module (1452916) on a MicroLogix 1100 PLC but it kept faulting out with the fault light RED. It would say "Major Error Halt S:1/13". The error description says I/O mismatch. The error code is 187h (see attachment). The Phoenix module has a cable with 19 pin positions for the 8 input. I connected the pin 17 and 18 to 24 volts and  0 volts respectively. Then because I was using input 5 I connected the pink wire to PLC input (I/1) 24volts and the White/Yellow wire to the PLC common.  On the I/O configuration on RSLogix 500, I used "Other" ( See attachment) but did not know the vendor details. Could anyone help me with the steps on how to communicate with the module? I have also attached the PLC program I was running. Thanks
  22. Hello, I have been so many days trying to comunicate the multiway software trought a serial usb converter with the SCU31 device, using a omron function block to read a holding register, but I can't achieved it. Now Im receiving some frames on multiway, but there is always some errors. I was wondering if somebody in here that have worked previously with modbus and omron can be able to help me in how to configure everything corectly to be able to read the value from multiway, on the plc, and where is this value saved.  I'll upload some captures to show what I have done till now.
  23. Hi, I can’t find an answer to the following and I was advised to ask it here.I’m programming an Omron CJ2M with an MD212 high speed I/O card. I usually do all my programming in Structured text, simply because I like it a lot over ladder or sft. Now, if I want to read the hight speed counter (incremental encoder), I have to make a ladder section and use the PRV instruction to store the present value in a chosen location. The manual says the current PV is stored in A271, but I can’t get a readout there. Apparently the only way to read it is through this instruction.Does anyone know if there is an equivalent to the PRV instruction for Structured text? or another way perhaps? Again, when I check the actual memory adress, there’s no value there withouth the use of the PRV instr.
  24. Q06UDEHCPU MELSECQ Upload

Hello ,  I dont have experience with Mitsubishi PLC.  I want to do a modification on the ethernet configuration but i dont have the source code .  According the information that i read we can use GX IEC developer or GX developer but my question are :  Can i upload and download the program with GX developer?  Even if was previous developed with GX IEC Developer i will not do any change on the code only on ethernet configurations , add a MC communication. I have another concern about the profibus module. For the profibus is necessary another program right ? But if i don't want do any modification on the profibus is dont need it, right?  My experience on Siemens when is necessary do a modification on the hardware configuration. I should have all the hadware configuration " right"  it means if i have profibus i should have the right GSD to allow do modification on the configuration .  But on Mitsubish i can´t understand that well . 25. Sorry first up for what may seem like a simple post / question, however I am pulling my hair out with reading the programming manual and have had no help from Mitsubishi's PLC technical support team.   I have a Mitsubishi Alpha 2 (AL2-10MR-A) that I am using to count the starts of a jacking pump via input one. The intention is to have output one operate when the jacking pump start count reaches 5 within a 24 hour period. When the 24 hour period has expired, the count will reset to zero. The count will also reset to zero when a manual keypad key is pressed. I have been able to figure out the counting and reset via the keypad no bother, however, including the 24 hour clock reset is proving difficult. Has anyone had any experience with adding the 24 clock function at all, and can offer advice or examples? This is being programmed directly via the keypad.   TIA
