  1. Currently have NX PLC setup as an OPC UA server and an OPC client setup and communicating.  The issue is only tags that do not have a Data Type are showing up in the OPC client.  I have 2 separate OPC softwares connected to this plc through OPC UA and both are having same issue.  If I setup the OPC as a polling service, then all the tags show up as expected.  Does anyone know if this is a known issue with Omron and their OPC UA server, or is there something that I am doing incorrectly (possibly a setting within Omron that I am not aware of)?

  3. Hi guys I have an control logix plc im looking for a module which is the same as 1769-ascii module. I know that module is for compact logix. Unfortunately i didnt find a good one for that purpose.  Anybody can help with that ? Thanks ahead.
  4. NE1A-SCUP02-EIP

Does anyone have experience with the NE1A-SCUP02-EIP safety PLC? We had a machine shutdown yesterday with a L9n4 error on the NE1A unit. The manual says this is a tag data link error. Does this cause the safety PLC itself to shutdown? I always thought the EIP portion of the safety PLC was only used for status reporting to the PLC. The safety portion is strictly on DeviceNet and is independent of the EIP network.  The CJ2 PLC's error log tells me it had problems communicating with the safety PLC, the VFD, and NX I/O's which were all in the same panel going through an Ethernet switch.
  5. Hi, I have quite a noobie question. I want to create a function block to do some simple operations on 2 variables. Both variables are In/Outs (see picture attached). How can I make this function accept variables regardless of the data type? Given these is just simple math I am able to use the same instructions in REAL, INT, UINT, etc. But, the function block only lets me assign one Data Type to the In/Out variables.
  6. Data Historian

Hello, What would be the best data logger for Backhoff automation based automation? Idea is to record some analog and digital tags at certain time intervals. Present them in tabular as well as graphical form and print some reports based on selected time window. I have looked up TwinCAT Analytics and that seems to be one option. But want to check others before making decision.
  7. Hi gents, I need to build up a communication between nx1p2 to another omron plc (any type with sql support). This is due to the fact that I have finaly to prepare the plc communication with the sql database, and nx1p2 doesnt support this.  Sorry, i know it's probably a noob question, but I'm a beginner. What type of technology i shoud use to make this connection between NX1P2 and another Omron PLC? Or might be some share some project?
  8. ello I have a powerflex 400 of 25HP for a 60amp 25HP motor, the motor have a belt that move the clarifier of milk. It is a process that requires strength to move.So I try with the motor without the clarifier the vdf works well with a constant amp of 12 to the max of 50hz that is set up with a ramp of 600 sec. Then I try with the belt that move the clarifier... The vdf start the ramp with a wird amp behavior like 10 sec 100 amp and then 13 amp for 10 sec. When it gets to 50hz (the max) it starts the same behavior 13 amp when it reach the max RPM and when it decrease a little bit it gets 100 amp to get to the max RPM again. In this vdf powerflex 400 I didn't see the % of torque options that the last one Fuji had.Someone told me that powerflex 400 is not for power processed, they are focus in pumps and blowers more alike, and that I need a vdf vectorial like a powerflex 725.What do you think...PD: as the 100 amp is like 10 sec the protections dont show up. PD: I made a try with water and hot water, in that point with the max hz  (and 6800rpm) when the hot water start to flow the amp gets constant in 75 amp, but the motor dosnt get to the 6800 rpm again it just keep trying in 6700rpm and it mantains the 75amp triggering the motor protection for overload.
  9. Hey guys,   I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but I am having trouble finding exactly what I am looking for.. I want to know the most efficient way to record data from my PLC to an Excel file on my PC. I want this to be done without the use of the PLC's webserver.  Specifically I am trying to record vfd speed every 10seconds with a time and date stamp. How can I do this?   Thanks, James
  10. How long  could be INT array. For example can I build INT[365] or DINT[365]? When I use more than [32] my controller fails. Thanks.
  11. Hi everyone, To explain the problem a little bit: I have 2 systems that are equal, they have 1 PLC, 1 Inverter and 1 Servo Axis (Image01). The devices are connected via EtherCat. The thing here is tht in these systems the PLC and Servo Axis is the same but the inverter is different. My goal is to have the same project on both systems and depending on the inverter detected use the correct program. What worked: If I add the 2 Inverters and 2 Servo Axis on the project on different nodes (Image02), I can detect which is present using the variable _EC_EntrySlavTb[n]. My issue is that if I want to make more replicas of the systems using different inverters I will eventually hit the Axis Number limit for the PLC while in reality I am only using on Servo Axis at a time. What I wanted: I would like to be able to control 1 Servo Axis with 2 different inverters (only one active per PLC) (Image03). What I tried: The axis parameters can be set using a variable of the type _sAXIS_PARAM, however it seems that the option to change the axis basic settings is not available (Manual: NJ/NX-series Motion Control Instructions Reference Manual (W508) page 5-58) (Image04). The axis basic settings is where the definition of the output device plus control words are set (Image05). Is there a work around to solve this issue? I would really like to avoid having to manually change the output device for the Servo Axis every time I make an update on all the systems.   Best Regards, BR
  12. simple motion cam curve

Good afternoon, I have a problem in an application for a rotary knife, I'm using a MR-JE-B servo to make this movement, while my material is powered by an inverter connected to a modbus rs485 network, with a 5v encoder connected directly in motion. I'm having some problems and I think it's my cam curve. I have a very high refeneration, and the system doesn't obey the size of the length I want the cut. It always cuts the same size, regardless of the configuration I use, it always cuts to 245mm. Put some photos, how are my settings. Grateful in advance, if anyone can help me. 13. Hi, I have inserted new RTD module into in my SLC500 as replacement to defected RTD module however the module LED is enabled but the channel LED's are blinking. I have checked the following: In the advanced I/O configuration the module configuration is shown as expected In the data file word format it is not corresponding to the channel preferences What should I do and how to fix the word bits?
  14. Open data log in HMI

Hi there! I have S7-1200 controller connected to a Comfort Panel. The machine has some pressure and temp sensors, as long as many valves and other stuff. I generate a daily datalog with some of those variables but, the thing is, I've been trying to figure out how to show these data in the HMI without using a trend viewer. I don't know if it's possible, but I want to be able to see what valves were open (for example) the day DD/MM/YYYY at HH:MM:SS, using the generated data log, kind of knowing the state of single bits at different past moments. I've been searching the web but I didn't find something exactly like this, don't know if I'm doing it properly so I'd like to know if you have done this or you can throw some light on the topic. Thanks in advance and hope you can help me!
  15. Have been able to exchange data types of BOOL, INT,  DINT & REAL between Omron NJ/NX CPU with Allen Bradley Logix CPU's with Ethernet/IP using the CIPUCMMRead & CIPUCMMWrite instructions. I now have a need to exchange "STRING" variable types. Have tried varions string lengths in the NJ without sucsess. AB default string length is 82 & Omron 256 but I think the difference is the length headder that AB has with within their String Tag type. I know I could convert my strings to an array of bytes & sent them this way, but was looking for a solution to sent them as native strings. Hope someone out there has done this & can share their leg work?
  16. Hi I'm trying to set up Modbus RTU communication between FX3U PLC and a weigh module. I would use the ADPRW command using 0X03 to read the 16 bit Holding Register but in the weigh module the Data Address/Holding Register of the value I want to get is 400047 - 400048. How to translate the value in 16 bit?   Thanks, Fabio
  17. Hello all, I need to read device memory mostly I need to read R registers from PLC L26. I read device data, but inside of table, I can't find R or ZR registers. Can you help me?  What I did wrong?   BR KS
  18. NX1P2 Motion Control

Hi:       I need to change an old PLC  with NX1p2  to control 3 servo motor by means of Analog Outputs couple with encoders, My job is to change the PLC only. So the servo drives and drivers are untouchable (No budget and involve too much mechanical works).   I observed that Sysmac Sttudio Axes setting has this: Servo Axes, Encoder axes, Virtual Servo Axis and Virtual Encoder Axes.   I believe the Encoder Axes couple with Analog Output is able to to do the Job? If so, what function block should i use? If no, do any body have a suggestion of any function block i can use? Thanks
  19. CJ1M con CJ1W-EIP21 a ControlLogix

Hello I am trying to communicate a CJ1M with a CJ1W-EIP21 Card, with a Logix Control, but I have not been successful, what I am looking for is to read data, from the OMRON and see it in the Logix Control, but I have not been able to establish communication, I am looking for someone You will already have a functional example, with the backups of both PLC'S, to be able to observe how they made the configuration. Thank you for your support Greetings
  20. I'm having trouble with some Powerflex 525 drives. Right now what I need to do is run them manually from the keypad to test conveyor belts.  Is there a way to do this and if so how?   Thanks in advance.
  21. NB Data log

Hi there!  I need to implement a data logging that saves the log in a USB storage for a machine and just started searching for some info about data logging in NB HMIs. Up to now I'm clear about using the Data History function and the sampling method I'll be using but I still have some unclarified doubts about this. 1.- The data log should sample the value of, let's say, a couple of words, each second for an entire day (6:00 am to 6:00 am). NB's manual doesn't say a lot about Storage Type and Buffer Storage in "Save Data History" tab. Does "daily file" mean It deletes the .CSV file daily and it generates a new one? If is it, at what time does this occur? Does "single file" mean it generates a file and won't get deleted? Does this mean the sampling stops when completing the first one? Is "storage period" used to keep the file after the next log begins? 2.- Is it necessary to display the element in order to make the log work? Or can it be placed in a random screen you only enter once a day? 3.- In the "Channel Properties" tab. If I need to get the binary value of a word, do I need to set the max. limit to 65535? 4.- I asume that "Sample points" value doesn't matter when selecting Continue sample mode. Am I right? Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.
  22. Data Logging with GT Designer3

Hello, I am trying to log data using GT Designer 3 and I'm having no luck. I found some sort of online documentation and even going through the myriad of steps still find my self unable to log anything. I am using the melsoft project navigator and GX Works 2 to simulate the logging of just one 16 bit signed word with a constant value. As logging data is clearly not as simple as just specifying D100 or D200 as the devices you want to log, I am hoping someone else on here has some experience on this matter and can help me out.  Thanks for any help in advance.
  23. Dear Friends, I have made this video to show you how to take data samples from Delta DVP PLC and save this log file in the Weintek HMI internal memory. The Weintek HMI internal memory is easily accessible using ftp. All the necessary steps are mentioned in the video. The link of the video is given below,
  24. Hi all, I am currently having a project of polling data from PLC CJ1M using Advantech ECU-1051 IoT gateway which support rs-232 serial connection (Host Link) to poll data from the PLC for data acquisition and monitoring, I would like to use peripheral port since rs-232c port is used for HMI. However, I am currently stuck at make the connection between those two devices. I did setup same transmission configuration between them (baudrate, Unit number, start/stop bits,...). Is there any configuration that I have missed to make the communication works?
  25. Good day everyone, before I start asking my question, just want to let you all know that my knowledge with PLC is not that good. I'm still learning on how to do it. So currently I'm working on a project that trying to obtain data from Omron PLC. I was told that I can't touch the Omron PLC program or modify it. That Omron PLC is connected in an isolated network within a router. Other than adding Network Card on the device, can I use another PLC (any brands) to get the data from that Omron PLC through the router? The communication protocol using here is Ethernet. Can i just tapped into the network and take the data with that way? Or the other method I'm thinking is that, the Omron PLC will feed the data to a server, can I just obtain that data from server by using OPCUA? I heard there's some PLC that have the OPCUA function, I just make my PLC into the cilent and request the data of that Omron PLC from server through Ethernet. Is this possible? Please let me know whether my method works or not, thanks in advance guys!
