  4. Omron 3G3HV Problem

Hello guys, I got a used Omron VFD from a friend. It was used in an industrial application. It works fine with the integrated panel. I would like to use it to run my drill press. I now try to control it by the so called 3 wire sequence (S1, S2, S3) for Start, Stop and forward/reverse. System does not work as expected, i. e. no reaction on the switches. I'm not sure if I have messed up the configuration of one of the n xxx parameters or if there is a HW problem. With SC open, there is no voltage at that pin (expecting 24Volts?!). Any thoughts? regards and thanks, Matthias   Current config: n001 = 4 n003 = 1 n004 = 0 n006 = F/R 052 = 0 n176 = rdy n177 = 1
  5. Track NS series IP addresses

I am using the NS series touch screens and NS-Runtime. Do they have a System word that stores the IP address of that touch screen or PC running the NS-Runtime application. I want to be able to trigger different functions in my project depending on the IP address.
  6. Hi all. Firstly, I am not a programmer, I just need advice. We have HMI's using NS-Runtime and we keep getting this message. Now, this is why I am contacting you all. This has happened over 20 times on 20 different HMI's which we have replaced over the last 3 years. We have been told by our software supplier that the com port is "on it's way out". There is NO WAY over 20 hmi's over that period will deveop com port faults. So my question guys, can someone give me a few tips on what to try before I change HMI's over ervery dang mponth please? I am really at the end of my tether here. We connect our HMI's to the Omron PLC's via a standard serial. If we change to another HMI the machine communicates after obviously a long period of downtime. Should we reset the plc? I will take ANY advise please guys.
  7. AJ65SBT2B-64RD3 PT100 Module

Hi guys, I'm playing around with a PT100 temperature reading module (AJ65SBT2B-64RD3 ) and I came across something strange. I took the example program written in the manual and copied it exactly. It works but now I figured that some of it is not needed maybe and some is not clear what it is used for. Can someone explain what exactly do these two values are in the settings? I'm using all 4CH of the module so maybe I need to change something or I can just delete it if it's useless in my application. (I read the temperature in a room and turn on or off a IR Lamp depending on that temperature). Thanks, Andrei

  9. Hi, Is there any setup to manage alarms in one PLC from multiple CX-Supervisor runtimes running on different computers? If I get an alarm, it shows up on both runtimes. If I acknowledge from one runtime, I also want it to be gone from the list in the other runtimes.

  13. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. A separate utility automates the data mapping to your PLC logic.  Features -Serial Master (BASIC required Option); TCP; Slave; Redundancy; More than 5000 accumulative registers; MB CFC (Custom/Private Function Code) Support; Data mapping too – Between PAROCK1 & your PLC logic; Packaged with Rockwell; TCP/IP Interface Module; Volume Discounts; Annual Support Requirements -Rockwell/AB-CLgx processor with v16 or later.  Contact PCI for earlier versions. -If using CPU’s Chan0, you cannot use Chan0 for any other user mode activity. You can use it for non-user mode activities -TCP/IP Interface Modules from Rockwell/AB supported, are: -1756-EN2xx ControlLogix® Ethernet/IP communication modules, firmware revision 5.007 or later -1756-EWEB ControlLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 4.006 or later -1768-EWEB CompactLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 1.002 or later -1769-L30ER, 1769-L30ERM, 1769-L30ER-NSE, 1769-L33ER, 1769-L33ERM, and 1769-L36ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L24ER-QB1B, 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B, 1769-L27ERM-QBFC1B CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L16ER, 1769-L18ER, 1769-L18ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later Other Related Services/Items -Custom PLC Add-on instructions building -PLC upgrades, troubleshooting, applications -PC Windows, iOS5, Linux, Mobile devices Comm. Drivers -Custom development, Technology Transfer Services  -Other Non-AB communication drivers for serial or TCP  -Full control system integration, training, architecture design This driver can be conviniently used with Visual Studio in development of complete large scale complex HMI/SCADA Systems. It can be used to perform advanced reporting MES, analytics, IoT, Big data type apps. 14. Hi All: I am new to Citect and looking for a way to create 1 page that has 25 valves (genie that pops up a super genie) and some analog genie/super genies. What I want to do is create 1 page and dynamically replace everything when someone selects a different rack in the system. I have 4 systems that have the exact same equipment times 10 so I want to avoid creating 40 different pages. Can anyone help with some ideas on how I can accomplish this? Thanks M
  15. WinCC Runtime on Server

Hi, I'm trying to integrated a couple of machines with S7 300 series CPU's onto an existing industrial VLAN, The two machines currently get their recipe information and send their archive information to a PC running a Win CC runtime package on a separate VLAN. I've changed the IP addresses and can get the Runtime package to work from my PC but not the server that I have been provided with. It's as though the server is too slow, it takes about 3 minutes to establish a connection with the PLC and the monitoring word the PLC sends to the PC to ensure comms is not returned, however when I run the same Runtime file on my PC on the same VLAN it works fine also the ping TTL is only about 3ms. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong ? It may be worth saying that this server is a just a partition of a bigger server running a VMware package.

  17. I am using a KTP700 BASIC HMI panel. I have two languages in the HMI program. On the inbuilt Logon screen, I want to show English text in size 21, French text in size 15. In Runtime settings > Languages and Fonts, I give each language different font sizes, but when I run the program on the HMI panel, they both show up the same size. (For example, I set English to font size 21, and French to font size 15. However, if I access the password screen in English, then later in French, the text is shown in font size 21 in both occasions). This is a problem because the French words are longer, and hence some letters get cut off. Any ideas about how to get around this? (besides just using font size 15 for both?)
