  1. MicroLogix 1100 IP Addressing

I have a micrologix 1100 PLC as well as a weintek HMI all connected through a network switch for them to communicate between each other, however I'm having an issue where the Micrologix Controller will not retain its IP address once I set it through Allen Bradleys BootP tool. I can set it through the tool and then go into RSlogix 500 and communicate with it and all that, but once the controller is turned off the IP address goes back to its factory setting of not showing an IP at all. Any suggestions/ ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

  4. Hello, I am currently installing a PLC control panel and due to space constraints, we will need to install the Panelview 600 HMI separate from the Micrologix. We purchased a 50ft Allen Bradley communication cable, but 50ft will not be long enough. We have about 70 to 75ft of conduit between the panel and the HMI. I would like to know what options we have for this connection. I read that for serial connection, we shouldn't go past 50ft. I understand the Micrologix 1100 has an ethernet connection and the Panelview does as well, but I'm not sure what changes would be needed in order to communicate through the ethernet port, instead of the RS-232 port. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.   Thanks, JCG
  5. I'm having problems with some explicit messages between the 1100 and the power flex 525, the message that send the commands to the 525 has the error code e6 and according to what I read the error describes Target node cannot respond because requested function is not available. Thank you for your help.Vinicius Galvão
  6. Hi, I am a beginner to PLC. I am currently working on a home project with Allen Bradley 1100 model. The project is to build a door open-shut cycle tester.  The motor I have purchased is a Bodine Brushless DC34B/FV INTEGRAmotor. My goal is to utilize the Allen Bradley to to control the motor and then the motor drive a shaft to open/shut the door. Through the LCD screen the of PLC, we can set and view the amount of cycles.  I have finished the initial stage of wiring. But not sure how should I start on the programming part. Could any of you give me any hints on the programming portion? Thank you so much.
  7. I want use the panel view 800 with micrologix 1100 but  i can't add the controller in connected component workbench. Exist another program to program the panel view???
  8. Micrologix 100 RTC disable?

The RTC on my micrologix 1100 is randomly getting disabled. I'm not writing to the RTC any place in the ladder logic. The only reference to it at all is one rung that used a compare with  the .hr value. The manual says this is a 'read only' bit. The battery bit is never set. When I pull it up in RxLogix500 and click on the 'Set date and time' button(function file) the disable bit goes back to zero and it starts back up. Is there any chance this could be battery related even though the battery bit is not set?
  9. I'm using AuthSmtp as my mail provider and I need to be able to specify the port number. I can't find a place in the rslogix 500 channel setup to put the port id. Currently I'm giving just giving it the host name 'authsmtp.com. I did try the ip address with the port number xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx but that didn't work either. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  10. Hey guys, sorry for all of the newbie questions, I had 1-2 years of PLC training at a tech school, and then I got a job where I didn't use my knowledge at all for 2 years, and now my current job is all PLCs, and I have forgotten some of the stuff I learned, but it's coming back to me, so I appreciate all the help with the stupid questions. Anyways, here is my question. I am using a MicroLogix 1100 running RSLogix 500 to collect data on a few of our machines about scrap parts and run time vs down time. I just have some basic inputs hooked up to it. I need to be able to send the data to an integer file at the end of every shift, and then reset the current data (easy enough for me, at a certain time I will use a MOV function to move the info from the timers and counters to integers and then use a RES function to reset everything that I want). Anyways, my question is how to I tap into the free running clock built into the MicroLogix 1100? I see that it is S2:4, but I am confused how to use it or set it. I just set one up on a SLC 5/05 and that was super easy, I just set the time while it was online, and then used 3 different COMPARE functions to tell it when I wanted to move/reset the data (I used S:40, S:41 and S:42). Anyways, I can't seem to figure out how to tap into this clock on the MicroLogix 1100. Can anyone help me with a "dumbed down" step-by-step guide. I just want data sent at 6:30, 14:30 and 22:30 and then data reset 2 seconds after each of those times. Any help is truly and honestly appreciated and very useful. Thank you in advanced. Howard
