  1. does anyone have any example code or experience using the RHC and TDF commands? i need to calculate speed based off of and input pulse. i know what the diameter, tooth count and pitch are of the gear i'm measuring and also have to relate this to the diameter of another gear. i'm hoping Ken Roach has some words of wisdom, i do appreciate advice from anyone. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello everyone! I am new to Eplan, and I am working on a big project on which someone else has worked on before me and almost finished it, but with a lot of technical mistakes and missing peaces. My boss expects me to fix a lot of things, but I have no experience with this software, so I could use some help. The problem is that no revision information (revision date, description, approved by etc) is displayed in this project, and I don't know how to make it appear, and be correct. I have made changes in plot frame and added special texts which should display these data, but I don't know where should I define wanted information (for example, I put special text for "approved by" but I can't seem to find adequate place to write the name of that person)? And, is there a way for Eplan to generate automatically revision description, based on the changes I made? From all said, it is obvious that I have no idea at all how revisions work, so any help would be enormously appreciated Thank you in advance! Cheers

  5. Hello everyone, we have two damaged analog cards for CompactLogix PLC ( 1769-OF8C  & 1769-IF8) that we are going to replace. my experience is with Siemens and Schneider PLC's  but for Allen Bradley, not so much so my question is : are there any requirements or specification other than the part-number that could prevent the cards from going in service directly ? as for the firmware, series and so on ?  and do i need to do any extra work after replacing the card ? thank you Best Regards
  6. Hello everyone! This is the first time I use Micro850 controller (2080-LC50-48QWB) and after I made a really simple programme (just for testing) I wanted to download it to my controller (which I was able to see and connect to via Ethernet and USB normally) and I got a message saying that firmware version didn't match (programme - v9, and PLC - v4). So I found some datasheet where was explained how to upgrade device firmware with ControlFLASH. I started the mentioned software, choose the right controller, and I choose the version 9 and the process started, but near the end I got the ERROR message, and the update wasn't finished successfully. So my controller went to fault (FAULT red light flashes) and now I can not see it in RSLinx nor via Ethernet nor USB. Does anyone have any idea what could I do to try to establish connection with my controller? I have tried to change from prog mode to run, and back to prog, but the fault remains. I really hope that I didn't make some serious mistake, because we need this PLC very soon for work. Thanks  in advance!

  8. F940GOT firmware

Hi everybody, My client got a problem with F940GOT HMI, probably due to its lithium battery has dicharged. We have managed to find it and to replaced the battery, then have downloaded the working copy of the HMI program, which was uploaded from GOT to PC in good time, when the equipment was working fine. However after that not all is working well, something went wrong: there are unexpectable symbols on the HMI screen, undefined in the project... Perhaps, the HMI got a problem with its firmware... Therefore the questions are: 1) Where is to find the firmware? (may be somebody has it)  2) How to download the firmware into HMI? Thanks in advance for a quick answer and help, because the issue is quite urgent !
  9. Add On Instructions Parameters

I am trying to learn how to use add-on instructions, and to get a better understanding I am trying to do a simplified example. I am trying to make two separate add on instructions that alter an integer tag in different ways. I would like one AOI that multiplies the input integer by 3 and another AOI that adds 3. The integer tag is a InOut parameter.  I named these AOIs "Mult3" and "Add3". When trying to use the AOI's it requires me to have an additional input with datatype the same as the AOI ("Mult3" or "Add3"). I have a couple of questions about this: 1. Why is this data type required? It seems to me that I would only need the InOut integer that I want to modify. 2. I want to use these AOI's in a number of places throughout my code on a number of tags. Would I be able to just use one "Mult3" tag for all the AOI's, or would I need a seperate tag for each use of the AOI?  For Instance if I am using the Mult3 AOI in 3 separate places in my code, two times using "Int1" as the InOut parameter and another time using "Int2" as the InOut parameter, could I just make one tag of "Mult3" datatype and use that for all the instances of the AOI, or would that screw it up in some way. Thanks for any help.

  11. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. 14. Question about firmwares

Hello. I searched for an answer for this but it is still not very clear to me. I have a new Guardlogix 1756-L72S. I would like to create a project to work with it with firmware version 20.13. I have RSlogix5000 v20.01(CPR 9 SR 5) which should be compatible with it (in fact I can open projects with another guardlogix that have that firmware version) BUT when I create my new porject, the firmware version RSLogix5000 puts is v20.11 1. How could I create a project with the firmware version 20.13 for my guardlogix? (Didn't find an AOP for this) 2. If I update the guardlogix to firmware 20.13 with the CONTROLFLASH, could I still be able to go online and work with it, even though my project has a different firmware version? Thanks!
  15. I've got one rung set up using a UDT and simple logic. The purpose of this rung is to write a string to a tag, which will be sent to the HMI later. Since RSLogix 5000 refuses to allow my AOIs to export any string value, or string tags, I can not figure out how to utilize add-on instructions to easily replicate this logic. Any ideas on how to make this work?
