  2. R S Linx not conecting to Plc unit

Ok The cable I am using is cat 1747-cp3 conecting through the bottom port and into the serial port on my lap top. I have RSlinx lite running and The drivers configured are "RS-232 DF1 DEVICE" SET TO COM 1 SLC-CH0/MICRO/PANEL VIEW BAUD RATE 38400 STATION NO 00 PARITY NONE ERORCHECKING CRC STOP BITS 1 PROTICOL FULL DUPLEX But I use the auto config to set the above this works fine on my "bench test rig " and Ipick up the lap top and walk to one of the machines, plug in and run auto config again Thanks for the advise on the swapping over of the plc units, we are aware of this but as you said it happens ! Thanks Andrew

Thanks Andrew
  8. I have a number of different models of the Alan Bradley Panel View HMI and have the need to keep copies of the operating programs so that engineers can quickly replace a unit when required. We do not need to do any programming only upload and down load from panels as they are supplied in various types of machines. Has any one any sugestions? I also would like to be able to do the same for Alan Bradly Plc units mostly the SLC500 type Thanks Sam Saunders
  9. Error message on tp 170a

Thanks for responding Klaus, I do not have the original program so I do need the early Prosave version so if any one out there can let me have a copy it would be apreciated Regards Sam
  10. Error message on tp 170a

I am in the process of backing up and creating a folder containing all of the operation codes etc for our HMI screen, plc units so that it is relatively simple for an engineer to replace a faulty unit etc. I am using ProSave v 6.0 sp2 to make the backups but while I am downloading from a TP 170A I get the following error message " The desired action cannot be executed the ProSave version and the operating version of the unit are not compatible (perform a bootstrapping if necessary)” When the HMI screen is powered up a version number B.52.2.2.23 appears before changing to the normal operator screen I have also Pro Tools ver 6.0 sp2 and get the same results How do I over come this message? All our equipment is supplied ready programmed so we do not have the original programs etc. Regards Sam
