I realize that this post is pretty aged, and I am fairly new to ladder logic and CLX controllers.
If using arrays of DINTs is more memory efficient than naming individual DINT tags, I use the description field within RSLogix 5000 to 'name' each element in the array, which then shows up above it whenever I reference that element on a rung. I was told that the description field data is not stored on the controller, I assume it is within the ACD or some other file, so, don't lose the ACD file, or troubleshooting will get messy..... :) Perhaps descriptions were not around when this post was active, or there is some other reason not to use them. As I said, I am fairly new to this side, so if I am missing some information, feel free to tell me :)
