  1. Tracking,

    Hello Guys! I would like to ask your help. I have a conveyor. At the begining of the conveyor i have a sensor which is declare wether a product is good or not. After that 5 meters i have to store out the bad product. In the exact place i have to stop the cv and store out. I have an encoder on the cv so i can calculate the correct position. The only problem is i have to write a tracking because i cant know when will the next wrong product coming. I could make some calculation making couple hundred rungs but its not sounds workable. Thanks ahead for any help.

      Firstly, thank you for your answer! Secondly, yes they are the same size. Im trying to make the proper code for the task. I made in the first row, a signal when a bad product is detecting I raise a counter like 1, 2, 3 4. ... and so on.  In the next row I check wether the counter is equal to 1 if yes, then I start to accumulate the pulses from the encoder until its reaches the 500, at that point I make a Stop signal, then I clear the counter. Of course there is a possibility, there is a new NG product can appear before the former one stored out, so if the Bad_product_appear bit is active again then the Counting counter isgoing to be 2 and it sarts to count also for the second, as the same way as before. My question is what if I have to make like 200 row like this, I think there is a better solution.   Anybody can help this, if my explanation is poor Im sorry, I try to answer for every question.   3. Hi! A have a question about how can I send the current User data from the Panelview (HMI) to the PLC. Its an allen bradley PLC 1756 L71. In the Factory Talk view I tried to make a register and to move in it the current user, but unfortunatelly its not working. Is anybody here who can help me with this ? Thanks ahead. Br.
  4. Hello Guys, I have a Mitsubishi A8000 series vfd with an encoder card and also encoder. With analog (0-10V) signal i can read back the current speed. The conveyor convey paper sheets. Occasionally they change the width of the paper but the the two type of paper is connected. We have a camera on the begging of the conveyor, and we would like to lets say cut it 2 meter later. But the position should be very precise otherwise we are not cut it in the good position. The cutting procedure would happen also an asynchronous motor or with servo motor.  Is it possible to write a tracking program and cut paper sheet in a good position ? My plane is to stop the CV in the position and waiting for the cut and go on.  The plc is Allen Bradley, control logix 5580. Any tip would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

    Hello Guys. Is it possible to use an fr-a840 to use in the same time positioning control and also in speed control mode ? In the moment the vfd is in speed control mode. But now i also have to need to stop the conveyor in certain position. It will be a new feature. If its not possible, do i need a hsc ?  The speed of the conveyor is 20 m/min and the accuracy should be within 3 mm.  Could anybody help me with this.  Thanks ahead.

    Thank you for the thorough answer. Lets assume the drive cant do it.  In this case do i need an encoder on the conveyor ? The conveyor maximum speed is 20 m/min. In this case do i need a high speed counter module too in the plc ?  The precision should be within 3 mm. Thanks.

    Hello thank you for the answer.  Yes i have an encoder on the the conveyor motor. Is it enough ? Or do i have to apply also an i dependent one on the conveyor directly ?   Thanks. 
  9. Hello Guys! I have a problem what I can't really solve. In factory talk view (10.0) I wanna use a momentary push button. When I start the project, and I click on it nothing happening, the button activate only when I release it. Its like there is an OSF instruction inside.  I want the button activate until I push. May I use a wrong button ? Could you guy please help me with this? Thanks ahead.
  10. Encoder position with vfd

    Hello guys.  I have a question, i have a mistubishi fr-a800 vfd with an encoder option card. On the motor we have an encoder.  I can read back the speed with the plc with analog signal. But can i use also for, tracking the distance ? Can i set anyhow the inverter lets say after one round on the encder send some digital signal to the plc. Is there any chance to set it ?  Lets say this is a conveyor, in this case its better if i put an encoder/counter on the conveyor and it will be directly connected to the plc.  Thanks ahead

    Thanks for the feedback.  The encoder is sew ES7C/AA. TTL/HTL encoder. So actually none of them. Its a push pull output encoder. The option card type is FR A8AP.    So if i can get position then how ? I already use the inverter to read the speed of the motor. Thanks ahead.

    Hello, Thanks for the feedback. I think you wanted to writie VFD not VSD. No I don't need one more inverter. I would like to get one more safety output for my system. But in my understanding I have to attach an expansion unit to get one more. I read about more, beside connection of  the EA, EB, EG, EP terminals, I have to connect the first modul's OUT terminal with the second's IN terminal. I still don't know, what should be, the inputs of the expansion modul ? Should I let the without connected ? Or should I use short cicuit between X0-COM0, and X1 - COM1, or I have to use the same inputs as used for the main module. Please guys help. Thanks ahead.
  13. Mitsubishi safety relay

    Hello guys! A would like to set up a new inverter for my existing machine. I wanna follow the recomandation about the safety wiring. The only problem is I need one more, Z safety output. I checked, there is official expansion unit, and it says I have to only connect the EA, EB, EG, and EP terminals ? Do I have to connect again the X0, COM0 ; X1, COM1 terminals, because I want actually the same inputs, just I need one more safety relay output. I attached picture about it, thanks ahead.

  15. Hi Guys,  It might be an off topic, but I need some help, with motor sizing. I have to choose a Sew motor with a proper gearhead. I made the calculation, for the speed thats okay. But I got stuck with the loads. It will be a conveyor, the roller and the product mass altogether is 29 kg. I  made the calculation for the load inertia check: Roller moment of inertia (J1);    m2=mass of roller;     d=diameter(mm) J1=1/8*m2*d^2*2=1/8*8*0,2^2*2= 800 * 10^-4 kgm^2 Belt and material mass = m1 = 21 kg;  Belt and work moment of inertia (J2): J2=m1*( π * d)^2/4* π ^2= 2100 * 10^-4 kgm^2 J=J1+J2 = 2900 * 10^-4 kgm^2 They give me a motor with gearhead, sew eurodrive Ka37/T DRS71S4BE05. This motor performance is 0,37kW, I think its enough, but on the documentetion, I didn't find any data, about the permitted load inertia. Can anybody help me with this ? Thanks ahead.            
  16. Hi guys!  I have several questions connected to kinetix 6000 servo amplifiers. I have a system with AB plc and AB kinetix servo drive. The communication is sercos. Earlier I was worked drives with ethernet communication. I think its better, I could monitor the parmeters durnig as its works. But with the sercos communication I am no longer to be able to do it. One of my question is that like it is possible to check the parameters somehow. I have some problem myabe with the overcurrent recently. But for now I even cant see what is the limit. Is it possible to find it somewhere ?   Also when Im watching the parameters in the RSlogix 5000 which is belongs to the servo drive. I can see a row like (servoname)axis fault code and (servoname) axis code. Is there any table where I can see which number belongs to which fault or status?  If anyone can help me I just appreciate ahead. Thanks Guys.            
  17. Hi guys. I have a question, with HMI pages. I have to make 20 pages 3 times. Its kind of like layer in layer. At the and of the layers always there are only 2 choices. But ofc course its important the route like what the choose, and what is the order. Like we have to detect lets say first layer page2 second layer page13 third layer is page5 and then we choose the first choice. But if the order is different we have to get a different input from the choice1, like we need different address. I could do that if I make ton of pages, but its sounds crazy. A lot of permutation. (20*20*20*2) I attached a picture maybe its easier to understand if Im not explained well. I am using AB control logix PLC, with logix 5000 software. Do have someone a good and quicker idea, to solve this problem.  Thanks ahead. Any idea is highly appriciated.    
  18. Hi guys,  I have been thinking about wether can increase the numbers of produced and consumed tags, between my plc-s. Currently I have two plc it already have produced and consumed tags, but unfortunatelly soon we are running out of free tags. I read the manual and it said I can make 125 dint tags, currently we have only an array with 10 element.  If I make a new one and I kinda copy it, with different names, will it be work ?  Or do I have to set something else ?  Can I ruin the communication with the two plcs ?  THanks ahead.

  20. FR-A740

    Hi One of my friend want use more analog output on his vfd. Its a Mitsubishi FR-A740 type. Currently the AM signal is for current, but he needs the speed and frequency too.  As we saw its only one analog output is avaiable, but you guys might know better. Can someone confims our theory.   Thank you.
  21. Hello guys! I'm interesting about rfid communication. I currently using control logix and compact logix plcs, and rslogix 5000 software. I'm wondering if someone can help me with a sample project, or any documentation. Its also can be wonderful if someone can share a project with panelview if its possible. I wanna know about reading and also writing. What type of device do you guys using ? I would like to make a simple program what is contain reading and writing. Thank you ahead any help of yours.     
  22. Hi! I would like to ask your help. I want to know more about the communcation systems what allen bradley use. Most important for me, is Ethernet IP communication, Controlnet communication, Sercos (servo) communication, maybe devicenet communication.  I know I can find some manulas on the web, but I thought I ask it here too, maybe you guys have some more documents which is contain more information. Every information is highly appreciated. Thank you very much guys.

  24. Hi guys! I need some help with a powerflex 525 multi speed configuring. I know I have to set the P046 parameter for 2 “DigIn TrmBlk” (source) and  P047 parameter for 7 which means present frequency. This is the speed reference. I need 3 speed, so I will use Terminal 5 and Terminal 6. When both terminal is zero then 10 Hz, when terminal 5 is 1 but terminal 6 is 0 then 20 Hz and lastly if both terminal is 1 then it will be 30 Hz. I will adjust the speed with the parameters: A410, A411 and A412. Terminal 2 would be the forward and terminal 3 would be the reverse direction. I think these two can be two PLC digital output trough one-one relay. It will be counted the distance by an encoder. When it reach the target the run command will be released and the motor will be stopped with the decel time1. Also I will connect the S1 and S2 for safety.   My question is do I have to connect other wires ? Also do I have to remove the jumper between terminal 11 and 1 ? Am I forget something ? Any comment would be highly appreciated. Thanks ahead.
