This is driving me nuts, cannot seem to figure out what's going on here. When the machine is in Manual Mode, and you press the HMI button "Master.SelectAuto" (circled in the pic below), most of the time it will go into "Master.AutoMode" and out of manual mode. But, sometimes it doesn't, it will go out of Manual Mode, but won't go into Auto Mode. I've made sure multiple times that all other conditions are true for Auto Mode, and watched the logic when pushing the Auto Mode button, only to see this exact thing happen. My only thinking that makes sense, is that "AllStationsHome" will go off when "Master.ManualMode" goes off. But before that happens, wouldn't "Master.AutoMode" seal in?? Thanks in advance for any help. Edit: Tried to paste a picture but wouldn't work, will attach

Yeah it's a 314, so probably same thing as the 315...ok, good to know, thanks.

Checked for that, couldn't find anything. If this is some default system pop-up, then how can I change the text from Spanish to English? That's all I really need to do.
-
Doesn't like it, must be a V11 thing. Thanks for trying though!

Where/how do I access this pop up login screen to make changes to it? TIA Portal V11 Thanks!

Message: This use of IEC timers / IEC counters is not possible in this target system See my recent post above: I had to rearrange the logic so that the timer and the move where on two separate networks, the timer also needed an output after it. By the way, this is TIA Portal Version 11, maybe this issue has been resolved since then?

Neither will work, I could get nothing in the same network to work, someone else suggested doing it in two networks, that finally worked for me.

No problem doing this in Studio 5000. Must have tried this 5 different ways. How can I do this? Shouldn't be this difficult. Sorry, a little frustrated as you can see.

Got this from Siemens support, this took care of the problem: Please do a Reboot prior to Installing further Programs Historically the 'please do a re-boot before installing' message would come up almost immediately after the install CD was inserted. We would, remove DVD, delete the pendingfilerenameoperation key, not reboot, insert DVD and install would be OK. Increasingly, I have seen the message "please reboot, but also a mention of data on computer that needs to be deleted" and this message appears a little further on in the installation. In these cases, on this message window there is a 'Back' button, have customer hit "Back" . Leave the DVD in the drive, but go delete the pendingfilerenameoperation key now, 1. Open the registry editor via menu "Start > Run" and the command "regedit". 2. Browse to path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager " 3. With Session Manager selected. In the right-hand panel of registry editor, select "PendingFileRenameOperations" and delete it. then hit the 'Next' button. I think the next few screens are: 1) name and company info 2) typical, minimum, custom installation and then 3) big 5 language selection. Once you get to these screens, install should be OK.

I'm having an issue that when I start the install for TIA Portal Version 11 I get a message that says, "You must restart your computer before you can run setup. Do you want to reboot your computer now?" I've said yes, it will reboot and the same message will come up again automatically. I've tried rebooting several times and nothing. I've said no to the reboot and it says, "You cannot continue without rebooting. Please reboot the computer yourself." Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Multiple independent stations with "Main" HMI/PC and Recording Data in Excel
JDR15 replied to JDR15's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
So evidently they are not currently doing data collection(automated), in excel or otherwise. Turns out they are just entering data in Excel manually on this "Main" terminal, the 6181. And it's only running FTView ME. I know, total waste. But they are requesting of us, for this project, to have automated data collection. kaiser - I'm thinking we will probably go that route, I'll message you for the info, much appreciated. -

They are actually using the 6181, 1900P(PC based) I wonder if this is because they have videos that they play through FactoryTalk? -
Multiple independent stations with "Main" HMI/PC and Recording Data in Excel

Sorry, I should have mentioned that they have existing equipment and they want this to have the same setup. I just got some of their existing equipment programs, attached is a screen shot(Main HMI). I didn't realize you could do this. They configured communication with all the PLC's into FactoryTalk and are using the tags in the "Main" HMI to show information from each PLC. Does anyone know if I need anything special to be able to do this? -
I have a project coming up that will have multiple stations, each station will run independently with it's own PLC. But the customer wants a "Main" HMI/Computer that can be used to view production info of each station, and also record this info in Excel. I'm sure this is possible, just not sure the best ways of accomplishing this and what software, besides excel, Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk, to use. Or maybe that's all I will need? I don't need detailed info as to how to do everything, I can work on figuring that out on my own. I'm just hoping someone can point me in the best direction. Thanks!

Really? The person who asked me to post this question said he could not find anything like that, he definitely has the AOP loaded too. Interesting, do you happen to know what tags?
