I have my VB6 app turning on bits and loading intergers in to my slc503 via OPC I use the "MyData3.Write (1)"- This sets a bit. But I can't seem to read out of the PLC using "Mydata3.Read(1)"- one is the item number. Any Ideas Justin

  4. Recent events at GM/Delphi

I think what is happening in Detrot is reflective of the whole country in requards to manfacturing. I am in the textile world. Every month there is a another company going under. Everything can be produced overseas cheaper. The last company I worked for moved all it's manfacturing the China. The days of company suppoted pension plans are gone. Ask the pilots of the major airlines. I will contuine to make my living in automation but I will push my kids to the medical field. Justin
  5. Pid Loop Tuning

I arm trying to tune a PID loop in a drive in a winding application. The customer wants a rapid acceleration with no overshoot at setpoint. I can get either the fast acceleration or no overshoot but not both. I was thinking of using two sets of loop variables and using a timer to select which set of gains are used during the ramp. Is this something others have done or should I be able to make this work using one set of gains? Justin
