Hi, I'll be soon involved with ABB RTU560 as it will replace our RTUs and PLCs. During the internet search I did earlier, I found that Multiprog WT is the software used to program it . To be a step advance, I decided to learn something ahead but as newbie I don't know what/where to get related information. Can any one help me in this ? Regards.

Hi, Our process is controlled by SLC 5/05, and we are using Microsol RTU (CPR21 and 40) as SCADA gateway . We have been offered to replace the Microsol RTUs with ABB RTU560 which said to have PLC functionality. My Question: Is the PLC functionality of ABB RTU560 is capable to fully full our SLC 5/05 control routines or not, so that we can remove the SLC 5/05 and Microsol RTU and replaced them with single Equipment that can do both jobs ? Thank you.

EMHBH posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hi, I'm wondering, what dose the 17 in in Allan Bradley catalog number stands for (17XX-XXXX) ? Thanks. -
Hi again, Attached is a screen shot of page 6-97 from Rockwell Automation booklet about Backup Scanner Module ( 1747-BSN ). The publication number is 1774-6.22 Thanks

You are right, this is coming from the 1747-BSN backup scanner module for Remote IOs.

Hi, Trying to read a LAD file made for SLC5/05, I’ve noticed that Source is #M1:1.3400 ( as shown in the attached screen shot ), my questions are: - There is no file start with M in the Data Files. - The last number in the Source file (.3400) is what? Thanks

Hi, I'm reading a book on programming SLC5/03, and newbie to AB PLC I've got basic questions: In an example of Ladder Logic Functions, an XIC contacts drives three parallel functions, 2 MOV's to pick a number to a new destination, and the Third Function is an ADD function that will collect the previous two MOVed numbers from their new places ( as Source A and Source B) and add them to put them in the new Destination. My question is: As there is only one Input XIC that will trigger the three parallel functions, (a) Is there a sequence of preforming the operation ( Up to down?), or (b) they will be performed all at the same time ? In case (b), what number will be used ? the same time scanned or the previous scanned and already resides in the table. Thanks.

Thank you Mickey, This is what came to my mind, "MVM" is similar to "AND" instruction, or I'm wrong ?

Hi, I'm new member to this fine forum, I tried to find the suitable room for my question but not sure that I did, so, excuse me if I posted my question in the wrong place. My question is about RSLogix 500 MVM instruction ( Masked Move ), where do we need it, and an example if possible. Thanks
