  1. PLC or remote IO suggesstion

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ thanks for response Well here are some details about the application, actually i need some advice regarding hardware that has been reliable and easier to maintain overtime. temperature readings from 120 thermocouples and switching the units on/off accordingly. response time is not an issue as it can be upto a few seconds because the temperature change is slow my trial attempt with adam modules has not been very good, so spending more on trials is not a good way forward thx
  2. Not a smart one though but am stuck in a silly problem, i am unable to read inputs through opc from cpu 314c 2dp. There is no problem in reading I/Os other than built in. The built input lights up as it should when switch operates but no change in internal bit is observed. Is there is anything am missiing out or these I/Os need some sort of activation or like ??
  3. we have a system installed at our factory that simply has adam 6018 module connected to thermocouples being used for temperature monitoring. A weird problem that arises with those modules is that they stop responding randomly. while the module stops responding it can be easily accessed by the adam utility after some refresh sometimes it starts working again, sometimes a restart does the purpose but no any single trick works. any idea what's the possible cause
  4. s7-1200 webserver

is there any resource for html templates that can be directly used in webserver of 1200 plc
  5. PLC or remote IO suggesstion

Hi can anybody suggest hardware required i.e. PLC / remote IO that will required for a system with around 120 thermocouples and few digital inputs and outputs.
  6. GE CCM Comunication

Kepware is responding with standard help documents which i can already access so not a great deal n the plc has a cpu350 with cmm311 and i am reading data through cmm311 port, now another interesting thing that's tapping in my mind continously is that we have a machine with same hardware configuration and using the same port it's HMI(it's an application running on panel pc probably VB or C#) is working fine reading registers greater than 512 address and it can then why cant I or why cant kepware apart from that i like the idea of using different cpu in configuration i ll try n revert back to share the results by the way thanks

  8. GE CCM Comunication

another problem is that how should i address registers greater than R512, kepware just doesnt allow addressing it , is there any way out ???
  9. I need to log data from a serial interface to sql. scenario is that it's a machine that prints cycle data after every cycle and am simply taking this data trying to pick desired values and then log them to sql. i have successfully done this using some trial versions but need an expert opinion specially if anyone can suggest a software application that runs as a windows service starts automatically on boot up and does it with reliability. regards
  10. GE Ethernet Global Data

It turns red in the hardware configuration when using proficy machine edition, problem is that i cant find the overlap as i have checked many times
  11. GE Ethernet Global Data

I have been able to succesfully read data from producer exchange but when making exchange for I (plc input) the address turns red and kepware does not update tags. Any clue why its happening, i know this red means some violation but what and how to deal with it
  12. GE SNP Communication Configuration

I am using kepware opc. I am not sure about the pin configuration but it's the same cable through which i was able to retrieve data from cpu 350 using port 2 of cmm311 but that i did using GE CCM driver now i have to do the same using snp driver but kepware is showing error message " device with ID 1 not responding" any idea where is the fault? parameters are same in opc and cmm besides i feel there is something wrong with the device ID as there is no option to set device ID in cmm but opc asks for it, by the way thanks for response
  13. Can anyone help regarding setting up/ configuring SNP communication between plc and opc. We have a CPU350 with CMM311 communication processor. regards
  14. GE CCM Comunication

thanks i guess snp allows can i use it for data logging to sql through opc
  15. GE CCM Comunication

I am reading data from CPU 350 through coproc module CMM311 port 2 and have been able to read I,Q and R values but can't figure out how to address M bits. Can anybody help
