  1. Cool. Thanks for the reply. I was sort of leaning that way but had never dealt with the adapter nor did I know of anyone that had either.
  2. I guess that I could do that. What about a USB to ethernet adapter? Would that work?
  3. I've got my network settings setup so I can get on both networks without having to change those. My issue is actually having to physically unplug my ethernet cable from one network (business) and connect the cable from the other (industrial) to my laptop.
  4. I have my laptop setup so that I can easily connect to our business network or industrial network. My issue is that I am tired of plugging and unplugging ethernet cables. I'm not network saavy at all so I'm turning to you guys for some assistance. I want to start here before I hit up out IT folks because you know how controlling they can be. They are 2 separate networks one (industrial) has static addressing and the other (business) is DHCP. I'm wondering if I could do it with a router. I would even be happy with an old school type actual switch like I've seen for printers back in the day.
  5. Thank you. I started to research using Factory Talk and I think that is the way that I will go.
  6. I am currently working on getting access to RSLogix5000 for our electricians at our plant. All they need to be able to do is pull up the appropriate program for the processor, connect to said processor, and be able to search. I don't want them to change any programming, they may have to force some bits though. I have never had to do this before and I would really like to get it right on the first try.
  7. Thank you for the replies. I realized after I had posted this and the time passed noon that it was indeed in military time. 0-23. Now I feel goofy for even asking this. I do appreciate the help though.
  8. I've not had to set the time before on a proccessor so I may be missing something. Is there any way to set the processor time to military time? It would make my life so much easier in programming grabbing shift and daily batch counts.
  9. Ethernet IP Ring topology

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I was curious as to what you have your Stratix port settings set to. I'm starting up a new plant and we are having some intermittant communication issues. Unfortunately the ethernet part is where I'm the weakest. I have heard from 2 seperate integrators 2 different settings. One said set it to full and 100 and the other said autonegotiate. I was wanting to see what input you guys have on this. Thanks.
  10. My apologies. It all resides on my laptop. Thank you for the reply. I'll have to try and call tech support. We don't have the tech support package because the company I work for is too cheap. Can I still call their tech support?
  11. I have an issue with Factory Talk Activation Manager losing my licenses on my laptop. It has happened on and off for the past week. I will open RSLogix 5000 and it will say that it couldn't find the activations and I am on the 7 day temp countdown. Then a couple hours later or the next day it finds them and is all happy. The path is correct and I see the licenses in the folder but the activation server can't find them. I hit refresh server in the Advanced tab and it just goes back to red "stopped". I'm not too familiar with this. I'm used to and actually miss the old activations on floppies......
