  1. SCADA solution for power distribution sector

While i'm trying to contact with Ignition team just out of curiosity asking, why are you guys thinking Ignition is different to other general purpose scada systems
  2. Hi, there are many SCADA solutions available, however I would like to know if there are special SCADA solutions specially designed for Power Distribution sector. most of the available SCADA solutions are general purpose aiming on plant/floor automation etc. Special features looking in power distribution sector can be such as load flow analysis base on real time data, fault locating, dynamic mapping based on the information received from field devices etc. further, we encounter difficulties when adopting general purpose SCADA system with power sector. here we have to represent power distribution network with available tools. however this is very challenging and difficult to represent a large distribution network using conventional tools available with most SCADA solutions and to represent their dynamic behavior (like real-time voltage drop, conductor loading etc.). Any thoughts on this
  3. OPC Server for IEC 60870-5-104

Hi All, thanks for the feedback. I could download one OPC server which appears that it will meet my requirement (i'm not sure if it's OK to publish product/brand names here) Anyway I'm still testing with it Thanks
  4. OPC Server for IEC 60870-5-104

Hello, Does any one knows a OPC server which support IEC 60870-5-104 standard. I have searched everywhere but I couldn't find a solution. I'm looking for a demo solution since I'm still at the initial phase of designing my SCADA system. Please advise Regards, Asela
  5. ICONICS,GENESIS32,TrendWorkX32

Hello, I'm presently working with Genesis32 product (demo version for the evaluation purpose). This to integrate our Electric Distribution System with a SCADA system. I have two concerns which I am very much grateful if someone who has experience/knowledge on this product can assist me. 1)when I attempt to insert a OPC tag in TrendWorX32 Logger it directs to the Unified Data Browser ->OPC DA -> and to the relevant OPC server. However I'm unable to see any devices and tags which I have already defined in OPC server (my OPC server is IOserver-DNP). This makes me to manually type the TAG information without selecting it from OPC DA. This is not happening when I work with GraphWorX32. There it clearly show the OPC devices under IOserver and Taga as well (refer image "error 3"). (please refer attached figure "error 1". it shows the IOServer but no devices under it) 2)my major concern is that when I open the Access DB which logs the TrendWorX32 Logger data, I sample values are always zero under respective tables. However I can see the values are chaining at GraphWrokX32(under Process Points) for the same Tag which I have attempted defined under TrendWorX32 Logger. So it is certain for me that values are available but they are not logged in the data base. Please refer figure "error 2" where no values are available in DB) I'm very much grateful if someone can direct me on this to fix this problem. Regards Asela
