  1. QJ71E71 +GOT16

Hi Thanks for replying. Maybe I didn't explain my problem very well. the USB connection is fine for the first download. I have downloaded a project & the comms settings to the HMI, but I now need to set up the Ethernet between the PLC and the HMI, which is where my problem is. The error codes relate to the Ethernet comms between the HMI and PLC (I think). Thanks Mikeb
  2. QJ71E71 +GOT16

I have a project which involves connecting a Q02/QJ71E71 & GT16. I have installed the Ethernet card on the plc and have set it up so that I can connect and program from GX Dev. I'm using GT designer 3 for the HMI, but i'm unsure of the way forward. I've tried working through the GOT connection manual and the GT designer manuals to work out the settings but no luck. I've downloaded my project to the GOT using the USB port, and i'm getting error codes 315,309 & 424 on the alarm banner. I was wondering if anyone has an 'idiots guide' to setting up the connection as i'm running late on the project. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanksin advance. Mikeb
  3. Can anyone help please. I have a customer with a TSX3722 and XBT-P021010 HMI. I need to do some changes to the plc & HMI software, but they don't have the original code. Can the programs be uploaded from the plc and HMI and edited, or do I need the original code to do this? I'm not familiar with these models at all. Thanks in advance.
  4. citect scada

OOPS - didn't notice the date. Thats great news about the Citect - they will be relieved about that. The plc shouldn't be a problem as long as its not password protected. Thanks for you help.
  5. citect scada

One of our customers has asked if it would be possible to support a piece of equipment manufactured by a company that has gone out of business. It uses a Citect SCADA and Mits plc. They don't have the original code for either. My question: can the Citect source code be recovered from the PC it is running on? The users are in a risky position as they have no backup if the pc fails. Thanks in advance. PS this is not a request to try and rip anyone off, it is a genuine need.
  6. Moeller PS 416 CPU 200

Hi, I was called out to a customer to help diagnose a problem with on of their machines. It has a Moeller PS416 CPu200 plc. The following LED's are flashing on the CPU:, RUN, READY, NOT READY,ERROR. The CHANGE LED is off. The battery was changed about a year ago, so that should be ok. The machine is in fairly regular use. No one has been inside the panel until me today. We didn't build the machine so I don't have the original code. the error LEDS suggest a problem with the Operating system. Can anyone shed any light on it? Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. I understand it all much better now. I'm using the built in keypad and LCD on an ML1100, to allow the timer value to be adjusted. After more searching I found a whitepaper on the Rockwell website that described what I want to do. As I said i'm finding my way with Allen Bradley at the moment. I've used Mitsubishi for so long now, that it just takes a bit of time to get to grips with a different way. Once again thanks to you all, I should get to test it out later in the week.
  8. Thanks for that. Its the sort of thing thats obvious when you know.
  9. Hi, I am new to Allen Bradley. I have an ML1100. I need to set up a TON timer, but the preset needs to be adjusted from the LCD & Keys. It looks to me like the preset value in a TON cannot be specified as a data memory, it has to be a constant. Am I correct? What is the best way to achieve this? I was thinking of using a data register and increment it with a clock pulse, then compare with the value from the LCD, but even that doesn't seem simple. If it was a Mitsi, I would use a D register for the timer value...easy! Thanks in advance.
  10. interface with 232bd

D8120 is where you set up comms for the BD board, so that needs to be set up before you try and communicate that way. You can set it up from GX Dev in PLC Parameters...PLC system (2), but you have to down load it to the PLC via the normal programming port first. Once this is done then reset the PLC and the comms should be ok, assuming everything matches up.
  11. interface with 232bd

You need to configure the special register for the BD board. You need the comms or programming manual. The register D8120 (from memory, i think) allows you to setup the parameters for the BD. Baud, stop bits etc Your cable should be wired: 2--------3 3--------2 5--------5 Should be fine after that.
  12. Create a new project in GX dev, setup the correct plc type. Go to 'Project'----'Import file'-----'Import from Melsec Medoc Format File'----- Then browse for the folder with the medoc program, it will then allow you to import the medoc program and name lists etc. It usually works fine. You may need to adjust the format of the comments display. (4*8, 3*5 etc)
  13. Can anyone help identify this plc

I looks like the manufacturers of the equipment may have deliberately tried to disguise the plc. The customer has a few different bits of kit, and all have the same controller. They all have a tape over the name. It looks like someone has peeled this one off, to expose where the name has been scratched off. someone at plcs.net has identified it as a CTC control model.
  14. It looks like the name was removed by Oyster bay themselves. There is another machine, with the same plc but different cards. It has a grey tape stuck over the name. On the plc in the photo it looks like someone has peeled off the tape, hence the scratched area where the name probably was. On the other plc there is an I/O card marked 2203, and what looks like a stepper drive card marked 2205.
  15. Hi, Can anyone help. I have been asked to support a machine built by the Oyster Bay Pump Works Inc. the machine is around 8 years old. Below is a picture of the plc, it looks like the manufacturers name has been deliberately removed. Can anyone help identify it please.
