Good Morning, We have a series of GE Fanuc 90-30 PLCs around various sites in the UK. I have been tasked with getting backups of the software from these PLC, the problem I have is I do not know what software was used when programming the PLC or who programmed them, I know with some PLC it is important to use the correct software when taking the backups so they are useable without affecting the operation of the PLC, in the event you needed to replace the CPU in the event of a fault or re-install the software were the PLC to fail and loose it's programme. The buildings were built around 2004 - 2006 I understand this may not help but I wondered if this would give an idea of what software may have been used, if this were important. Further to this can anyone recommend somewhere to get a basic PLC training course for a Fanuc 90-30 PLC in the UK where we could carry out backups and module replacements and where I am likely to be able to purchase the required software. Thanks in advance

Thats great thanks I have found where you ammend the points in GX IEC Developer but being quite new to this i'm unsure which ones to change and what values to insert. Sorry to be a pain but could you help me with this otherwise i'm guessing and I really do not want to do that.

Attached is the error message received when I try Rebuild All build error.bmp

I did attempt to get the source information but this was not available so the backup was uploaded in MELSEC_IL, then I attempted to verify this.

I have been attempting to verify some backups on site and have been running into a few issues, the main one being I upload a backup from a Q series PLC then attempt to verify the uploaded software and GX IEC Developer 7.04 indicates that the project has changed since the last build do I wish to continue? I continue then it says it cannot verify as a rebuild is required so I select rebuild all from the tool bar but the project will not rebuild. Could someone please shed some light on to this for me please?

Good Afternoon, I have just started working with Mitsubishi Q series PLC with GX IEC Developer, generally just verifying backups and checking error logs. I have found we have quite a few Profibus I/O stations, these monitor and control duty changeover on switchgear. How do I monitor the I/O stations to see the live values of what the points from these stations are monitoring and controlling? I have tried directly connecting in via the RS-232 port but was unable to connect using GX IEC Developer, and was looking for some help monitoring these modules.
