  1. As I stare out looking at my process. No drawings, no wire labels, 10 people " improved " it over the 15 years. Now asked to fix machine and integrate safety system, Sil3, catD. How much they ask, into the abyss we go. Ahh, should have stayed at GM
  2. I have a waste water system and Corporate wants to know the "average" pH. Most people think its just a function of averaging the discharges. We run on a detention tank system. I think they understand finally how pH works. Unfortunately my discharge volumes differ every time, and so do my pH's. If I calculate my daily discharges pH and volumes in Excel or on my Ti-89, we are golden. The PLC, L63 rev 19.1. seems to be giving me fits. It is obviously my fault, since I am doing the programming. Has anyone attempted to do the same thing? If so how essentially did you do it? I am eventually going to make into an AOI after all this effort.   In a nut shell, I take the current volume and pH. I derive Mol . The previous discharge volume and pH and stored Mol are used to calculate a new equivalent dilution. This becomes a running average, which I have a FIFO 10 long. All new volumes, pH, and calculated Mol are stored historically 10 Long. ( 10 discharges ).  If I simulate with same volume and same pH incoming and last outgoing, pH is slightly lower. (11.7 versus 12). The math appears to be correct, it works in excel
  3. I have an older laptop with Windows XP SP3 on it. All AB software works great. The screen is dying unfortunately. The company bought a laptop with windows7 home premium. EVMOVECF doesnt activate any products on the new laptop. Is that because I can't run in "xp mode" when transfering keys. I have no internet either, and its a one shot deal. Once the new laptop is running the old one is tossed out. We can transfer the keys back and all the products are activated again on the old XP laptop. The RA knowledge base isn't helping much other than saying buy a Dongle.Factory Talk Activation Manager is not installed on the new laptop
  4. FX1N comm problem

Sergey Thank-you very much. The first display was fried. The second display got fried because of a loose wire on a reset PB. It had absolutely nothing to do with the PLC. The GT11 didn't like having voltage spikes I guess. The loose wire was in a remote spot and was not visible. no excuses though. We all made it harder than it had to be. thanks everyone
  5. FX1N comm problem

The only error we get is at step 2065. Invalid operation error. We are dividing one D register by another D whose value is 0. It makes no difference if the OP is hooked up or not
  6. FX1N comm problem

I have a FX-1N that appears to working normally. After 3 processor changes and the Matsushita GT-11 has be repalced with new as well, still no go. The error is displayed in the GT-11 as ERFF. All cables have been replaced. ERFF fault says its a PLC issue. We are stuck - all 3 shifts. We need help. Thanks
  7. Does anybody know where I can get a large chunk of sample code for a PLC5/80 so I can convert to CLX? I never done it before I want to do a dry run. The PLC I have to do has crap code and they want AOI's, UDT's and OOP's as well. They can't e-mail PLC program for what ever reason. won't go through?????????. If I can't find anything I will pay for USB and postage. I haven't seen a PLC this old in years. Thanks.
