Inntele, I'm not sure this is correct, unless I'm missing something. The manual for the FX3GE which has the on board Analogue states that the on board analogue occupies special device position 1, the device numbers seem to back this up ie M8280 & 1 switches the two analogue inputs to current mode, M8282 switches the analogue output to current mode etc. So It would appear that only one FX3U-4AD-ARP can be fitted with the registers at M8290 onward. If I have got this wrong then I apologise, if possible can you post a link to any relevent documentation, I'm having trouble finding anything of worth. Steve

Thanks for that, I can sleep easy tonight. Steve

PLC5 logic to identify lowest of 5 values
nehpets replied to gromit's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
http://www.plcs.net/downloads/index.php?PHPSESSID=mp7mb8p7hnp1ek0qiugmbksrl4&direction=0&order=&directory=Allen_Bradley This is a link to PLCS.net download area, there is a slc500 prog. to sort numbers. Steve -
Oops it appears that I jumped the gun there a little (note to self, must fully read posts before replying). Steve

I would also point out that the software for the panelview plus range is different and will have to be purchased for panelview standard it's Panelbuilder32, for panelview plus it's Factorytalk. Expect a steep learning curve, when they say it's a compatible replacement they are talking physically. The HMI program can be converted easily once you have a little understanding of how its done. Not sure which version of GX Developer you are running, but in later versions if you change the processor type (on a copy to be safe) the compiler will automatically change the data types to the correct bit type. Steve

I'm afraid not, the RSLogix Emulate 500 is for RSlogix500. You require Emulate 5000 for Rslogix5000, unfortunately as far as i'm aware is not available as a free download, you have to pay (megabucks). Steve

Project verify (offline) with GX dev. 8.63R max. 1500 steps

Sounds like you are running a demo version of GX Developer, these are restricted to 1000 steps. Steve -
PLC Law #32.1 [ 2014 EDITION] When making backups or upgrading any program logic DO NOT under any cicumstances name the program or backup 'NEW' i.e new(machine)prog.rss {a/b} because once this has been done a number of times, who knows which program is the newest or when it was updated. I have a number of program versions all called newprog with only windows time stamp to differenciate To add to confusion the power dist. board has three circuit breakers all labelled 'new machine' Steve

How to enable FBD Language in Logix 5000
nehpets replied to mhi's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
If you have the mini, lite or standard versions then you are out of luck and will have to buy the license to activate the additional languages ( they are installed in standard version but not enabled) If you intend to buy the license to use these functions be prepared to be relieved of mega bucks. Steve -
I think you will find you need a development license to run windowmaker, otherwise it will be restricted to 32 windows in demo mode, also, I think the runtime is restricted to 120 minutes. there may be others on this site that can help further Or take a look here Wonderware Forum Steve

Analog Block Transfer Issue
nehpets replied to BobLfoot's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Not sure if the following is of any help:- A while ago whilst adding a node to DH+ channel A on a 1756-DHRIO/D I inadvertently duplicated a node address, no problem just put it all right and got the new node talking everything was fine, happy days. However a few hours later, one or two anomalies started to appear with other nodes (not turning outputs on and not receiving input signals), but it appeared to clear itself and run ok again. Later, again it started playing up seeming to get worse. When I viewed the message enabled signal it was very erratic, normally taking 0.5 sec to complete, sometimes taking 25 secs to complete eventually taking so long that the process stopped. My answer to the situation was a complete power cycle of the whole system, it all came up running normally and has run fine for a year now, prior to my node duplication issue, the system had run for 9 months without a hitch. This may help M8000 -----] [----------------------------------------------------[DECO X0 M100 K6] DECO = FNC41 in programming Manual X0 = start of proxy inputs M100 = Start of decoded bits Can be D, M, S, Y bits K6 = number of proxy inputs Example - Proxies on inputs X0 & X2 are on - X1,X3,X4 & X5 are off (binary 5 ) this will decode to turn bit M105 on Proxies on inputs X1 & X3 are on - X0,X2,X4 & X5 are off (binary 9 ) this will decode to turn bit M109 on Steve
-
Hi, You could take a look at the 'DECO' instruction - this will take your proxy configuration and fire a bit according to the value read from proxies - ie if proxies 1 & 3 are on this represents '5' in binary, the DECO instruction would decode this and turn bit '5' on in chosen destination store (say 'M' stores), you could then use these bits to action your program. I don't know if this is any help Ammonium Sensors Regards Steve

you could try this Go into the utility screen (by pressing top left and top right corners of the screen (default), or however its been set up) go to the communication settings and check to see if the 5volt is set to on, the unit needs this for correct communication. To change it just press the 5volt message display box and follow the dialogue. Steve
