  1. Careful reading of the manual revealed that the datalog memory cannot be accessed by user program as they are physically different. Have any one written a custom datalog retrival application for Micrologix 1400.??? Need some information in this line.
  2. Hi all I am using Micrologix 1400 B series. I am able to create a datalog que for some set of events and extract that log data using datalog extraction utility in excel format. my requirement: I want to programatically access the data log created and send some data of it over modbus TCP. Any help in this line is most welcome.
  3. Siemens Com connection problem

Hi! I am using Serial adapter. HEXIN Rs485to 232 converter.Since its a serial converter i am using my com port.
  4. Siemens Com connection problem

Hi dear all! I feel like i am experiencing some funny problem.I want to know whether anyone else have faced anything similar with Step7 PLC. The following happens almost like a fixed routine for me everyday. 1.First thing in the morning when i start to download some updated program in Siemens 224 PLC using my com port, i will face this error " communication cannot be established". When i look into the Set PG/PC interface setting i find something like "~com1".The screen shot of which i have attached in the post. Then as a temporary fix to the problem i tried disabling com port in device manager and then enabling it.This solved my problem and i am sticking to it for the past few weeks. 2. When i face no communication problem, i find in my set PG/PC interface properties with two "com 1" available for choosing.Only one of it establishes communication while the other fails with the error. I am almost dying out of curiosity to know why this happens....? Is there a fix for this !!!!
  5. Tuning AB Servo motor

Hi! Well i came to a conclusion after looking through AB catalogues and manual that the above mentioned operation cannot be carried out in compact logix platform. though its my own conclusion I will be really happy to see a second opinion on it. With Control logix 1756Lxx controller and Kinetix 6500 modular drive full motion control can be implemented with CIP motion control Commands.
  6. S7200 communication link break

@ Crossbow! Well i am using Microwin ver 4.0 and Windows Xp Professional.I believe there is no compatibility problem in this. @ Sparky 1. My intention is to monitor in live whats happening programmatically as well as the operation of the machine. Well I programmatically dissabled the output coils as a result the solenoids were not getting energized. At this kind of instance i am not getting any break in the communication link and everything is fine. Few seconds after the solenoids starts getting energized as per the machine operations the link breaks. 2.I have not touched anything in SM area. 3. port settings : Local Connection: USB, PPI settings are as shown in the attachment.
  7. Hi Well for this simple application as you suggested I will say it is possible to do parameter passing between PLC and PC without Driver and much off learning about protocols. Try it with ASCII... User a PLC with user configurable serial Port and then Define ur own commands to pass and actions to execute. With respect to software, anything that can read the com port is sufficient.
  8. S7200 communication link break

Hi all! I have a system in which has five cylinders and ON or OFF operation of the solenoids controlling any two of them will be in operation every 2 to 3 seconds. This system is controlled by S7 200 PLC.I am using the Pheripherial Programming cable for programming.I am able to establish communication and download program properly. When i try to monitor the program online for debugging, The communication link breaks and step 7 microwin goes offline. This causes a big headache during in debugging. I have been using S7 200 for several applications but only in this application with many solenoid activations in the background is causing this communication problem.I suspect it due to some noise because of this solenoids activation.I am i in anyway correct regarding my guess...? Have anyone faced problems like this...? Can anyone suggest me any solution in avoiding this communication break problem...? Any suggestion will be really great..!
  9. Hi all! Well i am have a compact logix (L23E) controller and AB MPL series servo motor in the system. With reference to Drive I have Ultra3000 and Kinetix300, can use any of them. Both the drives has Auto tuning option.I am familiar with this auto tuning feature which can be done with the software given along with the drive( Ultraware and Motion view). My Question are 1. "Is it possible to carry out this auto tuning option from the PLC itself, by passing some commands through the communication link between PLC and the Drive(Devicenet or Ethernet messages).?" 2. "Using the Kinetix drive by sending messages over ethernet I was able to set the drive to Auto tune mode..?but couldnt proceed further...?" Have anyone done anything like this earlier...? any suggestions...? With respect to manual tuning of the servomotor, I dont have any idea how to set the tuning values when the load on the system changes. Any help to aviod the usage of drive software for tuning the system will be help full...!
  10. hi folks! Here is my debut in this forum. What should i do to add this module into my project....? Someone please help me out ...!I am already running in short of time with my project....! thanks in advance
