  1. Help with powerflex 4m drive communication Hello, I have a machine with 4 powerflex 4m drives that are networked using a 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE with a 22-comm-e card attached. Backstory....There was a power surge at the plant that took out the power supply portion of this module. Dead short. After getting some bad info from tech support, they told me I could remove the 22-comm-e chip and install in the new unit and all should be good. Here's where I screwed up....even though the chip looked to be soldered in, I believed them and proceeded to try and to remove the chip. In the process I broke one of the tangs that was soldered in. I have a replacement module, and even though I can successfully send an IP address to it via bootp dhcp tool, it is not happy and doesn't properly communicate with the drives. Been back and forth with support from my distributer, and still not having any luck. I was able to position the bent/broken tang to touch consistently and got the machine up and running, but I don't know how long it will last. I can connect via ethernet to the working unit via CCW and see all its parameters. I need to know what I need to upload those parameters and download them to the new unit I have as a spare. When I install the new unit and give it the proper IP address, I can see it on RS links, but get an error when I try to connect via CCW. I feel like I am close, but definitely missing something. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you, Dave
  2. My spare is both the base and the comm-e card. How can I determine if there is a firmware mismatch?   Thank you for the reply, Dave
  3. Hello, I have a dead GOT 2000 and only have a 1000 series spare at the moment. I have converted from 1000 to 2000 before, but not vice versa. I'm not seeing any obvious way to do it. Anyone know if it can be done?   Thank you, Dave
  4. Hello, I think in the L series processors the special relays are different. M8000 is always on in an FX series, but it is SM400 in the L series. Look at the programming help and the special relays are listed there.
  5. Interrupt doesn't work

If you want to count pulses on X0, your address is looking at X1
  6. Can FX3U device values be viewed offline?

Yes, go to Online - Monitor - Device/Buffer Memory Batch Once opened, put the head address of what you want to view.   Hope this helps, Dave
  7. Help with MTA-G1

Hello, I have a couple of older machines here that have MTA-G1 HMI's on them. Could anyone tell me what software I need to talk to these? Thanks much, plcdp
  8. GOT image library

Hello, I was wondering if there were any image library add-ons for GT Designer? Thanks. Dave
  9. GX Works 2 System Variable Use

Hello, Under the Find/Relace tab there is "Device List". This will show the used devices in the program. Hope this helps,   Dave
  10. encoder to fx plc

Actually putting 0v to the s/s terminal would be for sourcing logic.
  11. Murr Mico Pro instead of fuse blocks?

I haven't yet tried it but my sales rep was showing me the Wago version of this last week.   Way more expensive than traditional breakers, but if you really need to squeeze for space in a cabinet, this is a neat solution.
  12. Q170MCPU-S1 and MT Works2

Been in that boat before...   You're welcome.
  13. Q170MCPU-S1 and MT Works2

Hello, See below from the Q170MCPU-S1 technical data sheet:   (1) To make a standard project using the Q170MCPU-S1 Push the "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + A" keys after the "New Project" dialogue box appears. It will then give you the option to select a Q170M-S1 as the CPU Type. (See Fig. 1 below) Also note that the number of extensions is same as Q170MCPU. (Up to 1 extension×5 slots) (2) To make an extended project using the Q170MCPU-S1. Push the "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + F" keys after the "New Project" dialogue box appears. It will then give you the option to select a Q170M-S1 as the CPU Type. (See Fig. 1 below) Now you can select the Q170M-S1 and also set up to 7 extensions×12 slots.   Hope this helps, Dave
  14. Hello, Are there any other users of PLC's.net that can't open the site up? Trying to figure out if it is down or the problem is on my end.   Thanks
  15. PLC's.net down?

    Thank you
  16. timer question

Hello, I am sure I am missing something probably quite obvious here, but I cant seem to figure out how to change the type of timer from say a 10ms timer to a 100ms timer. I have always used the FX series PLC with GX Developer, but this project is done with a Q02H using GX Works 2. If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, plcdp
  17. As long as the PLC is in run it will not run. Perhaps it is so those items will be cleared if the PLC is switched from run to stop?
  18. GX works 2 line statements

Hello, When entering line statements, what is the difference between entering in the CPU or in peripheral? Thanks, plcdp
  19. Choose Keypad GTDesigner3

This is mine. Made it nice and big to reduce fat-fingering.
  20. Sorry for the delay, I figured it out. The instruction I was trying to use had a limited number of shifts it would allow. I needed more than the limit. I ended up doing 2 independent shifts to accomplish what I was trying to do.   Thank you
  21. Hello, I have an application where I need to shift two consecutive bits at the same time by 2 registers for a total of 176 shifts. Is there an instruction to do this?   Thank you, Dave
  22. Q170MCPU-S1

    Nevermind, I figured it out...thanks.
  23. Q170MCPU-S1

Hello, Does anyone know how the built in I/O is addressed on the Q170MCPU? I used everything up on my rack and I need one more output. The CPU has 2 built in outputs but I can't for the life of me figure out how they are addressed.   Thank you.
  24. Hello, I am attempting to set up Ethernet coms between a L06CPU and a Cmore EA9-T6CL HMI via Ethernet with no success. There is no Ethernet driver for the L series, but there is for the Q. I am pretty sure the L and the Q Ethernet protocols are the same. Anyone have experience getting these two talking?   Thank you, Dave
  25. L06CPU ethernet to CMore HMI question

Absolutely! Thank you for the help!
