  5. Greetings all I have a messaging project i need to setup. The decision has been made to retire one of our SLC 5/05s and replace it with a micrologix 1400. The old SLC was only used for messaging and has no I/O. I understand that if i want to read/write from the micrologix to the SLC then i need to set up the target device as 500CPU, but what about read/write from the SLC to a micrologix what do i set up the target device as? SLCCPU,PLC5, or a CIF,? Also does anyone have any tips on a sucessful migration from a SLC to a micrologix in the MSG instruction?
  6. Greetings all! I have a SLC 5/05 OS501 Series C FRN 9. I would like to Update this to Firmware FRN 10. Does anyone know where to get the Control Flash program and a Firmware update FRN 10. Also any documentation on a simple way to do this would be great. I do have the rockwell documentation on how to do this
  7. Hello All I need some help with SLC Message instruction. The question I would like to ask is: In the program i have a MSG intruction that is using Channel 0 DF1 to message to another PLC on channel 0 this is using a SLC 5/04 CPU. I have now upgraded to a 5/05 CPU and have have now set the message instruction up for Channel 1 (Ethernet) but i have noticed that the control block length went from 14 to 51, is this normal? and is the 1st word of the control block which contains the block layout (error messages and status bits) still the same? Will this instruction work the same as the error bits of the message instruction (bit 12) are used through out the program. Please Help Time is of the essence
