  1. Upload AddOn Fault

I noticed that the title says 20.13 but in my previous screen shot it is 20.11.  Does this mean that I have 20.03 and am trying to upload a 20.01 version?
  2. Hello gents,   I have an issue were I try to upload the program in the processor.  I have a copy of the program from a few months back however there have been some changes made to the program since then therefore RS5000 prompts me if I want to upload or download.  The program was done in v 20.01 and thats what I have as well. When I select upload everything goes good as fa as connecting and uploading tags but as soon as it start uploading the routines it stops part way through and gives a message that Logix couldnot upload AddOn instruction.  Has anyone seen this andhow did you get around it?
  3. Upload AddOn Fault

I use to work for the company that developed the program and also have the program from this past summer.  I also verified with them what version is still on the PLC.  I am thinking it is something on my end.
  4. Upload AddOn Fault

Thanks, I have verified that my version of 20.01 is what is in the PLC as well
  5. Upload AddOn Fault

This is the message I get when trying to upload.
  6. Hi guys, we are converting an HMI project currently in WinCC RT Advanced into WinCC RT Professional. I seem to be struggling with how to convert/upgrade the current program into the professional edition. Does anyone have any experience with this and do you have any pointers?
  7. Data Collection

Hi guys, my employer has asked for me to develop a system in which data is sent from each of our machines to a data base that can be accessed from any windows computer on the current network. I am guessing I would want to display this data in excel spreadsheets. They want this done as cheap as possible so I think a SCADA system is out of the question. Our machines employ the following controllers: S7 300's FANUC CNC Controllers MicroLogix 1100 and 1400 Control Logix and Compact Logix All machines have ethernet ports except for the micro 1100's. I am not looking for detailed parts list or instructions at this point but for a nudge in the right direction and some testemonies of what others have successfully implemented. Thanks guys.
  8. Hello everyone, I am looking into the best method for verifying nut location. A 4 axis manually placed arm will be used and will have a nut runner and torque monitor attached to the end of the arm. I was thinking that I could use a incremental encoder for each axis and feed the signals into some high speed inputs and use a compare instruction to verify location of the nut to be tightened. The operator must tighten the nuts in a specific order. That's why I need to see location and compare that to what nut they should be at in the sequence. Has anyone done this or have a more efficient/effective approach? Cheers
  9. Position Verification Methods?

Thanks for the input JRoss. Teaching the encoder on power failure may not be an issue. This is a manually operated device and I could incorperate a re home step every 1000 parts or so? Can you use absolute encoders on a micro1200 or 1400? Also what is SSI?
  10. Position Verification Methods?

I do not have the full details yet but I am sure the pattern may differ from part to part. I was wanting encoders so there is the option to teach position on future jobs.
  11. Hi, we have a system that has multiple cabinets using guardlogix point I/O. For some reason that I cannot explain as of yet we sometimes loose ownership on one of the cards and have to reset it. Has anyone experienced this before and if so what was the cause and solution?
  12. Ownership being lost

    Anyone?
  13. How do you chage K value in timer?

Nice. I tried it when I got to work and that's all I had to do. Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction.
  14. How do you chage K value in timer?

Hi guys, I am use to AB software and have always been able to change the set point of a timer via a touch screen. How is this accomplished with a q series PLC??? I can't find anyway of writing to change the set point of a timer from the HMI. Seems like it can only be set while online.
  15. How do you chage K value in timer?

Ok. So instead of saying T14 K160 would I create a timer and say T14 D150 for example?
  16. What is this

AHHHH I see.........that makes sense now.
  17. What is this

Can someone explain what the U7\ above the move instruction is for and why it is used. Thanks!!
  18. No Online Edits?

I can monitor and online edit with other plcs in the plant. Same series plc and same software on the same laptop however the only difference is its simple ladder and in GX developer.
  19. No Online Edits?

    Structured ladder.
  20. No Online Edits?

Should be but that's not the case. Won't let me go into online edit mode.
  21. managed or unmanaged?

We would like to set up all our plc's and Fanuc Robots onto an ethernet system and get rid of the old fasion hard wire I/O going between all four plc's and robots. The question came up asking if we would want managed or unmanaged switches? I am not sure which to use and why you choose one over the other. If it helps I have listed what we have for the particular cell we are looking at converting over to Ethernet. 4 seperate cabinets, each with its own Q series plc. One of the plc's have CC Link going to remote I/O 4 seperate fanuc robot controllers. Each have an ethernet option. All the plc's and robots are talking by hard wire interlocking. (many failure points. The robots do not talk directly to each other but only to the plc's. The plc is more like a traffic cop that looks at the robot outputs and then sends outputs from the plc to inputs of the proper robot) We would like to add possibly 4 HMI's to the cell, remove 3 of the 4 plc's, and have the robots on ethernet to plc's and each other. We also would like to integrate remote I/O with ethernet blocks, and also send data onto the server for production counts. Any advise from anyone with experience in this is appreciated!
  22. managed or unmanaged?

"How large is your network today (how many office users, how many factory devices ++)?" Not sure. We do have a building automation system that controls lighting, compressors, etc. etc. and does send an email out to certian people when there is an alarm. It uses a Horner PLC.
  23. Best way for 4 PLC communication?

Hello Mitsubishi forum. I am new to Mitsubishi but not to this web site or plc's. I am now employed at an automotive facility that employs Q Series PLC's. We have a cell that has 4 seperate control cabinets each using a Q01UCPU. We program using the USB method. In order to reduce physical interlocking and wiring I would like each PLC to be tied together somehow. One of the PLC's does have a CC link card (QJ61BT11N) that goes out to some remote I/O. I was considering using this method to tie all the PLC's together but a future project is to have data sent to the network for production details. I would obviously do this with Eternet. Because of the future project I am thinking that Ethernet cards for each PLC are the way to go with Ethernet Hubs in each cabinet as well. Each cabinet by the way also talks via hard wire interlocking to Fanuc R30iB Robotic Spot Welders. What suggestions does anyone have??
  24. Does anyone have CX-Programmer for sale or possibly want to give away. I have a CPU21 sitting around the house that I want to train on. PM me if you do. Thanks
  25. CAD DWG needed

Does anyone know where I can find a free DWG file for a PLC5 D Net scanner????? The AB site does not have one. Thanks
