  1. RSVIEW32 messaging

    Thanks.appreciated
  2. Hello All I’m trying to set up sending a email whenever an alarm is set, alarms are already set up and have successfully been sending as a pager message, I know need to send as a email, I have set up the email address etc, however the email does not get sent, the only indication I get of any problem is in the activity log I get ‘Failed to annunciation alarm message’ for each alarm that is set, can any one give me a clue what that means?
  3. Remote connection using eWon

Hi All I am using a eWon unit to give me access to a remote network (IP range 192.168.0.***) using TIA portal V14, which connects to 5 S7-1200 PLC's  ,1 LOGO , 8 basic HMIs plus 7 other devices which are not of siemens manufacture. The issue I have is that if I am connected directly to the network I have no problems whatsoever, however, if I'm connected remotely using Talk2M ecatcher,  whilst I am able to go online, i.e download, upload, monitor etc  to the PLC's and other devices, I cannot connect/download to the HMI's' also if I use accessible devices in TIA portal it does not find any devices other than a PC on the local network (IP 10.0.0.***) , even though I can connect to the PLC's. If I ping the all of the addresses on the network I get a successful response. Anyone have any thoughts?
  4. Remote connection using eWon

Hi Wulfgar Thank you for your response, at least I know now I'm not the only one seeing this problem, the only slight difference is that I cannot download to the HMI's
  5. KTP400 password dialog

Hi All   I have a issue with password dialogs on a KTP400 (6AV2 123-2DB03-0AX0) I am sure I am missing something somewhere but unsure as to what, what happens is whenever I press a pushbutton on the screen I get the password dialog, but there is authorisation is blank in security, also the event on the pushbutton still takes place without any password being entered, if the dialog is closed  and the button is pressed again , the dialog does not appear, any thoughts?
  6. Basic HMI Graph

Hello All   I'd like to display data in 2 or 3 arrays as a graph on a KTP400, does anyone know of a way to do this, I know I could use a trend display , the only issue I have is that the array will be updated in around 10 to 20 msecs per element, and as far as I am aware the time between the trend values need to be 1 sec or more. Any comments would be appreciated.
  7. Hi All   I have a client who has a SLC500/RSView system installed on his site, up until recently it has been using messenger to send text messages via modem and landline, now however the landline that the modem was connected to has been removed and the only connection we have to the outside world is via broadband internet, is it possible to send the text messages via the internet?   Thanks
  8. Hello I am currently working on a system where we have multiple stations each comprising a Micro 850 and a PV800 HMI, the software on each is identical, the only difference being that the IP addresses will need to be different as they will all be on the same network for linking to a separate PLC. The plan is to have a PLC program with a default IP address that will be used to download to the PLC's, we would then use the Run Mode Configuration change to change the PLC's IP address , what I'd like to know, is there a way of changing The IP address for the controller in the PV800 in run time, or would the controller IP address have to be specified in the HMI before being down loaded? Regards.

  10. Hello All   Can anyone tell me if there is a way to restart/reboot a PV800 v3.01 from connected components workbench after downloading a new/updated application?
  11. Not sure if this will help, we use a unit called a cosy 141 from eWon it allows a PLC network to be connected to a factory lan network while keeping its own unique IP addresses, as long as the factory lan had access to the internet remote access is then achieved via a free eWon eCatcher account. http://ewon.biz/products/ewon-cosy
  12. AWL file

The 'Structure' is the source code for network 1 of the ALARM PROGREAM function, if you compile this source file then open the compiled block , you should then be able to view it in LAD, this may make it easier to understand.
  13. Hi Schneider do a module to convert 24v signals to RS422 standard , it is VW3M3102 maybe that will be what you need
  14. Siemens and Modbus TCP

The S7-1200 does have MODBUS TCP blocks included for Modbus coms over profinet, MB_Client & MB_Server.
  15. The meaning

    Basically L OB1_SCAN_1 - Loads value of OB1_SCAN_1 into ACCU1 (accumulator 1) L 1 Loads value of ACCU1 into ACCU2 (accumulator 2) , Loads 1 into ACCU1 ==I Compares ACCU1 with ACCU2, set RLO (result of logic operation) TRUE if ACCU1 equal to ACCU2 = 'New_start' make 'New_Start' = RLO R 'Re_Start' Reset 'Re_Start' if RLO TRUE
  16. mV Input to Analog Card

Hi I would imagine the separate amplifier route would be the simplest solution, however depending on what your requirements are, siemens do have a number of modules dedicated to weighing functions , which have provision for loadcells typically the Siwarex-U would be a good starting point.
  17. Piggy Backed MPI Lead

Hi Peter, I am not aware of a 'piggy back' lead as such , but using a Connector 6ES7 972-0BB12-0XA0 at the CPU end of the profibus cable you will be able to connect your laptop also as it has a through connector , the part number for a USB/MPI lead is 6ES7 972 OCB20 0XA0
  18. Hi I need to ask for assistance with a fault finding issue I have, we have a machine that occasionally stop for no apparent reason, we are in the unfortunate situation where although we have the PLC (TSX 47) program we no longer have the programming software to be able to actually look at the program to find out what is going on, what I am hoping will help is having a listing of the program to help me, so I was just wondering if anyone on the forum could provide me with a PDF listing of the attached program? Many thanks in advance. miswa.zip
  19. Discreet Alarm Tags

Hi Peter When entering the tag addresses they need to be for your example DB 7 DBX 7.1 , as for lamps , if I understand you correctly, you could use a circle, once that is placed on your screen in the properties for the circle you will see a section for animations, within that section there is a option for appearance, in there you can define the colours for foreground and back ground also whether they are flashing or not.
  20. Transfer Parameters TP170B

Hi Peter, Which version of Winn cc flex are you using? If using WIn cc Flexible 2008, on the HMI in transfer settings(from control panel) enable both channel and remote control on RS232/Zero modem, then select transfer on the loader screen,. in wincc when you select transfer it will ask you which mode you want to use, options are MPI/DP serial etc, select serial and connect between com1 on laptop and IF2 (rs232) on the HMI you should then be able to transfer Win CC in TIA portal is basically similar only there in TIA you would select download to device and it will ask you which PG interface you will be using.
  21. PC To TP170B Download Cable

    Hi Peter In the past I have used a serial laplink cable for transferring data , this is not a 1-2-1 cable as it has crossovers the pinouts are as follows plug 1 plug 2 2 3 3 2 4 6 5 5 6 4 7 8 8 7
  22. Uploading from TP 170B HMI Screen

Hi Yes you should be able to connect with MPI , if you have Simatic manager open and click on accessible nodes you should see both the plc & hmi and their addresses, at least then you will know that you have access to the HMI
  23. Uploading from TP 170B HMI Screen

Hi If you have a connector on the PLC with a piggyback connector on it you can connect there, if not then connect to the HMI, however it may not be possible to upload the HMI program if back transfer wasn't enabled when it was down loaded, in which case I think you will need the source code.
  24. I suppose it depends on what form the blip took, but I have issues in the past where , one where a loose wire grounded briefly and another where energising a contactor caused a short circuit, both on different sites, but both caused apparent loss of the program within a SLC meaning that the whole code had to be downloaded again, may be a similar issue?
