  1. Lockout/tagout film

I Would also like to add. If the maintenace person is on the floor often and there are several machines on the floor. Then he/she will become accustom to hearing multiple horns and may disregard them all together. Then you got a maintenace guy nicknamed 'Nubs' walking around. It would be a shame.
  2. Hello, I am using a Safescan 9B light Curtain made by Dolan-Jenner, a XSEL controller(2 axes) made by Intelligent Actuator, and a Modicon(Momentum) PLC. The Light Curtain is hardwired to the enable line of the XSEL controller. When the Field of Light of the light curtain is broken the XSEL controller will stop. Upon pressing my reset Push Button on my HMI touchscreen (which is suppossed to clear all faults and returns my XSEL controller back to the "Load" position) nothing happens. The common error I get from the XSEl is "Homing not Complete". But this error will not reset and allow me to home my XSEL controller unless I Shut down the whole system and turn it all back on. If I go into the program and reset errors it still does not allow me to get my XSEL to the home position. My questions are: 1. Does any one have any expereince/pointers with integration of the three aforementioned products (or similar ones)? 2. If I kill the ENABLE line to of the XSEL controller, does it reset the whole XSEL controller? If so, do I need to do the same to the PLC? If anything is unclear please let me know and I can clarify. Thanks for the help! PS - this was posted on another forum by me just trying to get as many hits as possible.
  3. SafeScan 9B

We are actually planning on buying a safety relay to perform the "expansion" of our contacts (NC).
  4. SafeScan 9B

Hello, I am a Control Systems Intern and am in the process of updating a machine my company bought several years ago. It was not designed well and the code does not work 100%. One of the issues was safety. I have recently came across a SafeScan 9B in our warehouse and plan on using it on our machine. I realized that the model we are working with only has 1 NC and 1 NO set of contacts. We need to use two NC contacts (maybe even more, we have two machines that need to be stopped when the field on the SafeScan is broken). Is there a way to make the single NC contact into TWO NC contacts? We were thinking of using an external relay to perform this task. Is this recommended? Does anyone have recommendations on how else to perform this task? Thanks!
  5. Proworx and Loops

Thank you for your replys. I have figured out the using the SUB command and counter for loops. But did not realize the importance of placement. Thanks.
  6. Hello, I am in the process of updating some PLC code using software called Proworx. Does anyone know how to do condional loops using this software? Is it even possible? Also, does anyone know of any good resources for this topic. Thanks for the help.
