  1. I have had a company to built several control panels for different processes. The last one he built had a SLC 5/05, and I noticed on the drawings that the IP Address he used is the same as a 5/05 that he supplied to us over a year ago. I thought it may have been a drawing error, so I checked the controller properties and they do indeed have the same IP Address. Could this cause any problems later on? If so what could happen?
  2. Please help

Hi, I am not very familar with Direct plc's. We have 4 DL205 plc's with d2-240 cpu's in our plant. The software I have is DirectSoft version 1.1. I have added sensors and made program changes on 2 of them. When I went to make changes on the other 2, I could not communicate. The plc's are the same, but on these two machines there is a direct view 1000 interface connected to one of the ports. I have only been with the company 6 months now, but the operators say the interface has not worked any since it was installed 8 years ago. It is giving a fault which is a communication time out according to the manual. I also have checked the cpu manual and direct soft manual and still no luck. I have used every address with protocol K Sequence and several adresses with direct net protocol. I don't think the ports are deffective because it is the same on 2 seperate plc's. Is there a way someone could have locked these ports? It does not ask for a password though. I have tried to cycle the power with the hmi unplugged also. If anyone has any information or ideas please let me.
  3. edrum on DL350

I got the issue resolved by using an addition drum, dividing the steps between them, and having the test start at step 1 of second drum. Thanks
  4. edrum on DL350

I am trying to improve the program in a pressure tester where an edrum sequencer is being used. Currently the preset step is 1. This machine starts loading the parts at step 1 and starts the test on step 6. If the tester fails a part, the drum stays on step 10 until you reset it and then it goes to step 1 again. When this happens, the operator has to manually unload the parts and carry them up to the load position. This would not happen if I could change the preset to step 6, when an failure occurs and the machine would start the test again. The parts rarely do have a leak, so when you retest them, they usually pass. I have a programming manual that says the preset can be changed in the program but does not say how to do it. Anyone help would be appreciated. It is a DL350 plc and I am using Direct Soft 32.
  5. I am trying to make a program change with the cpu in run mode on a SLC 5/05. Is there a way to do this?
