Hi I have a machine that I would like to record data from, my PC application uses a standard DF1 protocol and has worked fine in the past when connected directly to SLC's. The PLC I would like to conect to this time is a PLC5 / 25 (node 2) with the 1785-KE card on a remote rack. The KE card is connected to a modem that we no longer need. Q. Can I connect directly to the RS232 port on the KE card to read data from the PLC using my DF1 Ap. Q. Do you have any recommeded settings for the KE card if this is possible. Many thanks Fred

Hi, Has anyone used the Westermo TDW33 for remote connections. I'm not having any luck setting up the modem and feel that the problem is the modem itself, as in the past when I've used the TD35 its always been fine. Many thanks Fred

Hi Gary I've had trouble when replacing an NT20s when using NTST to upload / download, but when I've used the transfer utility all has been fine. I think its something to do with screens created with the old dos software.

I would like to add an NT31c to an existing AB PLC5/25 for monitoring purposes. The PLC has on it 2 x DH+ ports available. Has anybody done similar? Is there a converter available? Should I just buy an AB HMI ! Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Fred

Can I connect from my laptop 9 pin serial port directly to the RS 232 port of a 1785-KE card on a PLC5 rack and what are the connections ? Many thanks Fred

Hi Yair I have had this situation many times on this type of machine (Stacker). A direct replacement is the 3G3FV which supports the PSIG card. If you do go this way drop me a line as there are a couple of things to watch out for during machine operation. Regards Fred

I have an CJ1M PLC and SCU21 card and require it to communicate with an omron V720S RFID head. Has anybody written a protocol macro for this or similar that they would let me have a look at as I am completly new to this type of programming and could use any help available that would cut down on the pain of banging my head against my monitor while trying to work it out!
