  1. Hello, The problem is you are using a standalone system. And indeed the summary gets cleared everytime you shutdown citect. Only the active alarms and the not acknowledged alarms are logged to the alrmsave.dat file and are reloaded to the alarmserver when citect starts. As far as i know there is no way to get around this, if you find a solution let me know. We solved this problem by saving the alarms in a database and displaying the database using an active X. this also allows us to go back much further in time. Greetz, jimbo
  2. Citect scada and FX serie issue

It is really strange it doesnt work directly with a SC09-Cable. then it should really work there must be something else thats wrong. some thing that come to mind (some are obvious in know) - is the correct comport selected - does the comport works - reinstal the driver - run computer setup what version are you using? i ll try to make a project that works with an Direct connection SC09 (wont be before next week still on vakation so no acces to a PLC). or can you post your test project maby we can see whats wrong. 3. Citect Scada and Melsec-F protocol

Hey, Indeed thats the module FX485-ADP. I used just one serial port, and i readout about 25 words of every PLC. The speed is not super fast but any change of state is reported within 500 ms i think. this is more than fast enough for the application, is a monitoring station for a tunnel. Jimbo
  4. Citect Scada and Melsec-F protocol

Hello, I have an operational multidrop network between 11 FX PLC's and citect. i think we used a FX485 module but i am not exactly sure of the type. i ll look it up at work. Jimbo
  5. Mitsubishi PLC

Hello, Check if the start/stop switch next to the programming port is in the correct position. greetz, Jimbo
  6. Hello, I work regulary with siemens and mitsublihi i havent used the GE software. I dont like the SFC posibilities in both the softwares and we always write out own grafcets in instruction list. you have much more freedom. As fot the ladder editors. the mitsubishi ladder editor is the best i have seen and the ladder editor of siemens is the worst. if you program in instruction list then in my opinion the semens editor is much better then the mitsubishi. Because with siemens you can see the comments of the variables in the editor, and it is much easier to insert comments. i haven't done much in structured text. Greetz
  7. My new Computer

Nice!! I am curious for the screen. is it also mounted on the case and what resolution is it?? Greetz, Jimbo
  8. SFC in GX IEC Developer

hello, There is a little misunderstanding here. Our friend david here is talking about a system Q plc and navillusi is talking about a QnA plc these are different series of plc. so i think david is right that you cant use SFC in a Q01 (i didnt check) Greetz, Jim
  9. CX-Supervisor Remote Connection

I have solved many of my DCOM problems on win XP with the following parameter. But i have no idea if it applies to your problem. Just change te security model of win XP to classic setting like win2000 Greetz, Jimbo
  10. Citect Function

Hello, If you use reread you should use reread(1) else it wont have effect. and the other solution is to use tagread this also forces an update of the tag. Greetz, Jim
  11. fx2n ethernet

In europe there is an ethernet module. But this module is especially designd by the german distributor. this module is placed to the left of the fx2n. greetz Jimbo
  12. Ping !

Hey RichWargo, you are right about microsoft.com but thats a public ip address on the internet it is unique. i did use the wrong term it should have been "u cant forward ping requests". it is impossible (to my knowledge) for a router to forward a ping request witch is directed at the ip address of the router to another ip address. Greetz, Jimbo
  13. MX4 Scada

Hello, I have some citect projects where i communicate to fx plc's but i dont know if the settings are the same. i havent seen the MX4 yet. if you want i can post one as example Jim
  14. Offlink Address

hey Jeff, As i said i am not an AB specialist (actually i have never seen such a plc), i do know alot about citect. When i read the documentation of the module it seems as if it is an interface betwen ethernet and the SLC. the documentation sates "This eliminates the requirement of mapping PLC/SLC file", i am guessing this sentence means you dont need offlink adressing. in the citect help is one example addess and it says "IP address: 192.192.192.99" you could try to use this address. If you need more help i would suggest signing up to the citect users list and asking your question there. You have to create a mycitect account and then sign up to the users list. sorry thats all i can help, Jim
  15. Offlink Address

Hey, I am not a specialist in Abei but the description of the AB 1761 ENI module says : Lets any device that can initiate a CIP data table read or write on an EtherNet/IP link through a 1761-NET-ENI/B (e.g., PanelView, ControlLogix, RSLinx) access a Logix processor data table. This eliminates the requirement of mapping PLC/SLC file numbers to Logix tag names. So i think you do not need offlink addressing and you can communicat o to the SLC as if i were an PLC5. Greetz, Jim
