  1. FX2n Cannot connect to PLC

What I can tell you is, that if you are using a standard comms port on a PC and the PC and PLC are connected to different Mains supply point you will almost certainly damage the Comms port on the PLC (ground loop induction) it has happened to me once during a moment of forgetfullness. I have no experience of this when using a USB convertor and not something I would intend to test. If I dont know the mains supply points I always run of Laptop battery.
  2. Prog.E LED flashing

I suspect that while GX IEC accepts the SR instruction and compiles okay the FX2N does not recognise this Instruction. Only speaking from experience with an FX3U80MR and GXWorks 1.87 Compiled okay but on download to PLC I had the same errors. Removind and reprograming the Blocks fixed. As you will observe Bryll uses separate Set and RST Instructions. Well Done! I am only speaking from experience as when I had the Error there was no real indication of the problem. I have used the SR Instruction in GX Dev IEC with a FX3U No Problem. Cetronic
  3. a FX2N cant go in RUN mode anymore

Yup Site visit seems the Go and good luck with that. I am sure the forum will be interested in the resolution.
  4. a FX2N cant go in RUN mode anymore

Well folks I have just physicall checked this with a FX1N and 2N and it is indeed possible to put the CPU in Run mode with Switch in the Stop Position. However Cycling the power defaults to the switch Position Default but can restarted. I assume this would mean that a Program Cycle/Error would default to the same process. Dont know why you would want the Run Stop in the continuous Stop Position.
  5. I have the above Item for sale and will list on Ebay, It is in full working order with all manuals and software on 3.5 disk. Just thought I would post here in case there is some Enthuist Interest. Also all origonal cables, Mouse and Mouse pad. Quite a beast in its time.
  6. EView MT508TV4CN 8" Touch Screen AU$300.00 + P&P This screen has a few very minor marks but they do not detract from appearance and certainly dont effect operation. The unit was removed from a new machine to fit the customers choice alternative. Complete with 4 mounting clamps and cable for connection to a Mitsubishi FX PLC. No Programming cable included. I can supply appropriate manuals and programming software on CD. I have 2 of these units and hope they may be of use to somebody rather than laying around my workshop.
  7. Converting a programme ....

Hi Colin, Happy New Year (Scot in Oz) and well done in the Ashes. I have converted a Micrologix 1500 (rewrite not copy) with a larger I/O and Analogue count than you mention to a FX3U however I understood the machine (Shuttle Rotomould Oven with Recipes) and convinced the client that this was the best long term solution he accepted. Now on face value this seems the longer solution but in my experience during commissioning this saves a lot of time. I have also taken the track (requested by the client) to copy code for a Toshiba T1 to a Toshiba S2T (different I/O allocation and functions) In my opinion the project took much longer to commission due to all the issues you raised ie. Typo, wrong address and function issues. You appear to have considered all aspects, my thoughts are! 1. Do you have a reasonable time frame for the conversion 2. Who will support the code after conversion (Very Important) Best of Luck Ray
  8. 3-Element Control for boiler

Hi Inntele, Thank you for advising and my Apologies to Kaare. Muhammad I have emailed the funtion blocks. I have used these in a number of burner control applications (not Boiler) with good results. However I would like point out that you should use Inntele advice and develope the Boiler model before employing a control strategy. In Australia all Boiler functions must be Failsafe and be unable to overide any of the main safety controls, indeed when the control philosphy is completed and there are a number of elements it must be held in ROM in the PLC to prevent any uncontrolled changes or forces. What size and type boiler are you controlling? The Boiler level control is normally a separate funtion in the overall control system. A plant Boiler would not normaly be started wilth the steam supply valve open. Do you have understanding of a Steam Boiler operation? if not you should definately employ the use of an expert in the area. Regards
  9. 3-Element Control for boiler

Hi Muhammad, I have a set of function blocks for IEC Developer. They origonally came from the Beijer site http://www.beijer.ne...ame/filearchive but I must be having a mental black cant find the link. there is a 3 term controller with auto/manual and auto tune and it works well. If you give me an email address I will send the Zip. It is in English. After having a look at Inntele link 3 term funtion block is shown PIDFX.exe but it is not in English. It needs to be extracted and added to library.
  10. Mitsubishi FX3U PLC to ABB ACSM1 Dirves

Hi Russ as stated above I have not used Modbus on Mits but if you go to the web site above it has Sample projects. Have a look at the attached powerpoint for master and slave code. ModbusFX3UMasterADP_MB_V1.00.ppt ModbusFX3USlaveADP_MB_V1.00.ppt
  11. FX3U-485-BD/ FX3U-485-ADP-MB

Hi Russ, I dont have any experience withs Mits and the ABB Module but I did have the same module set up to talk Modbus over Eth to an ABB AC500 PM571 CPU and it would fall over every hour or two and require a restart, also had Red Lion G303 and G306 talking Modbus/Eth and no problem there. Connected the screen to the PM571 Modbus/eth and Screen to drives Modbus/RS485 and this worked okay. Spent many days with ABB personel with no resolution. I would be interested to know your results. Modbus should be plug and play today but not so.
  12. Mitsubishi FX3U PLC to ABB ACSM1 Dirves

  13. PC to FX3U-ENET

Late to the Post but I have the same Issue as Skyfox, I cannot go online to The ENET Moduly via the ethernet switch. Only by connecting directly PC to Enet Module. Configuration is FX3U ENET Slot 0 to Ethernet switch, from switch to Red Lion G310 (No problem here) Using Primaily GX IEC Developer 7.03 but also tried with GX Dev 8.45X. While Mitsubishi have been helpfull they dont have a solution. In Oz there are only two of us using IEC and I had Profibus Issues to 8 drives and no solution....Another story Hope someone solves theENET issue I had to give up and move on with the project. Best of luck all, and Hello from DownUnder Sample.bmp
  14. Red Lion Data Station Plus question

I presume you may already have the answers. I have used the Red Lion DSP and master and also use the G303. 306 and 310. Theses have been used to communicate via a Eth switch to talk TCP/Modbus to ABB PLC and TCP IP to a remote computer gathering log data. A third protocall RS485 Modbus driver is used to pass information to and from ABB Drives. The answer lies in the TCP port allocation. I have also used a similar setup with AB drives and Toshiba S2T V series PLC. If you need any advice please ask I will answer where possible. Ray
